  1. just cut the muffler off and run a pipe to the side wherever you see fashionable, back pressure gone. one of these days im gonna run one of those old hot rod "uncorkers" that bypass the muffler the old fashioned way, with a cable!
  2. good good, thats what i like to hear.
  3. if a fiero gets as ass happy in the rain as my first gen mr2 did, i want one. my z gets funny looks everywhere, i think its because it has no bumper or front spoiler or headlight buckets, squats, and makes a whoosh whoosh.
  4. i think the factory stuff is better for low hp figures liek that.
  5. 75/83zxt here, swap is real, real, real, easy. if you really want gobs and gobs and power, standalone, everything stock zxt can be used, its just that the downpipe is UGLY, but i used though, i just wish i could have copped on a scottie dp.
  6. make sure the ignition transistor is grounded check ignition switch, pull the little eight pin connector and clean it, that is acc circuit and also power to the coil specifically, bottom two pins on that connector check for power with key on.
  7. i can get watanabes, but they are expensive, heres an example, i used to get rid of 14x6 inch wats to the trueno crowd for 750.00 a set, used,(thats as least 100.00 less than what they usually go for, i had seven sets sold in two hours flat) a set of 16x8s or 9s WILL cost you at least double that in good used shape, thats why just about nobody has them. i sold a pair of 15x8.5 and a set of 10s for 1500.00 each, USED, and thats A55 cheap for the market. i had a few sets a while back, they sold like hotcakes, but i dont think there is enough market for me to get back into it. have you tried wheelchoice.com? they can any rim dang near, but they will want some big bucks. on the rear of a 240z, i assume youre gonna run zg flares, i would run a -10 or so so the rim sits a little outward, like a oem snowflake rim or so, that way you could get a 215/40/16 on a 8" in front and a 245/45/16 on a 10" in the back, with the stretch look.
  8. i dont like how the tb is up and down like that, looks like it would make ic plumbing more of a nightmare than it already is.
  9. anyone ever use their panels? they advertise as having the best molded panels, so much so they will bolt up like steel panels, they have a one piece lower valance that i may pickup from them.
  10. vtec and turbo is a good combo, i still cant see how these guys run boost on the vtec motors, dont they already have dang near 11-1 cr in na form???? my old b16a civic would give up 9200rpm or pure bliss, with no torque.
  11. people have made more than 600hp on l28et, but not as easy as a 2jz, thats for sure, guys hit that mark with stock internals, and i know not one supra guy who has opened up the block to do anything-or knows how to work on the internals for that matter.
  12. yeah, ive been known to get single digit mpg when i run it hard, temp also starts going up too, nothing scary though.
  13. use a tinted primer thats close to the color you are going to shoot the car, like a light grey for silver, it will take less coats to cover if you do. if you want cheap ass single stage paint, look for NASON, its 85.00 a gallon single stange without reducer, and it can come out good if you take your time.
  14. the big npr is the biggest unless you want to do some hacking. i went npr because i cant afford the same cfm rating spearco ic, which would be my number one choice
  15. yeah that does suck big time, not being able to drop in the 2jz even, thats my choice, because of the fit. but a vg30dett with a pair of td05s sound good to me too, but man right now the supras are taking sh1t over with those single turbo converts, and that driveline looks like it would be my choice of motor conversion if it ever comes down to it, its real nice.
  16. sidenote-i dont think any of us here did our conversions with mpg in mind, but it is a nice thing to get, good power and great fuel economy, and boost.
  17. i had that whine in my v8z for almost three years before i finally knocked it out of commission, and thats because after three years i only changed the fluid once. i dont think you have anything to worry about, but having a spare is always good insurance.
  18. i used a 55mm 300zx tb and tps, and bored out the manifold with a dremel, making it a true 55mm opening, people like to go 60mm, but i dont even think im using 55mm worth of air correctly yet.... that motorsport one will bolt on nicer i suppose, but not worth the money to me.
  19. shoot outflow the tbird by much much more, grand nationals boost 12psi stock, and its been known you can run a little more than that to get the party started right, its a good setup, just kinda ugly to me.
  20. autozone clutches are not for racing, shoot they are bearly for driving. get a act or a cfdf, and go for it.
  21. get a real clutch if you plan on beating it.
  22. put all that mess in a mini cooper, then were talkin.
