  1. with a 3.54 back in and deep od 82 na zx trans and lots of mods, 27mpg. this is with stock injectors, i look forward to losing a couple mpg this year
  2. sure you can, but its not a true turbo afm anymore, its a 3" na afm.
  3. its really a buttload of fun, even at the low hp setup i run, just get it running its a blast.
  4. wont work with na harness. na is l-jetronic zxt is eccs system.
  5. it was very fun,even though i wish the import race scene here consisted of more cars with some go fast instead of show fast. people with more money in their rims and beat than speed parts gets to me-especially when they try to take it to a street race. i dont think i needed the race gas to be honest, but i didnt want to take the chance at a high boost setting since im paranoid, it was more psychological than anything.
  6. it is VERY dangerous to paint inside your house. the fan must be fitted to match in terms of CFM for the size of your garage, and you must have a way to vent the other side of the garage, like cracking the back door open and it must vent directly, and do not smoke, or do anything that could remotely catch a spark. We know at least five people who have had fires in their homes due to painting in their garage, and one guy burned his house down, be extremely careful. plus, all that work is still gonna be more than a earl sheibulater job.

  8. the duke cant be beat easily for the price, with a warranty, you just have to prep your car soemthing serious, and dissassemble everything before you take it in, because once its in, they just blow it with compressed air, wipe it down with laquer thinner(probably not even that) and begins to spraying. some mask well some dont mask so well, its really up to you how well it comes out, the options are just for better paints, but the expensive ones ive seen look just as bad as the cheapos, i would just go for the cheapest one to keep rust off, and dont try to get a crazy color, cause it will come out looking CRAZY.

  10. either the sender that attached to block is bad, or the guage is bad.
  11. figure out what guage the wire from the battery and the wiring harness, and use a fusible link 4numbers higher, so for a 10ga use a 14ga, and so on.

    try adjusting the pedal height? try the bleed again, then try to adjust the pedal, pray you dont have to drop the trans, to bearing may have slipped from the fork arm.

I have mixed feelings about firearms, but I do feel that its wrong for someone to go to jail when there is no past history or proof that these guns were to be used for anything more than a private collection. At the most I could see them taking the guns away, since you said that you have a clean record. I dont think you should go to jail at all. I really dont know you at all but I dont like seeing anyone go to jail unless they obviously deserve, which I feel you dont. Anyways a longer version of this post will end up in Oregon next week.   14. went to the import(honda family) street races tonite, matter of fact im fresh out the races! its 5am and im finishing up some paperwork for school. two buddies and me decided to check out the races earlier this week. i secretly went to the old Olympian in SSF that sells 110 unleaded (they used to be the old school hotrod Texaco, and they are still owned by the same family) and mixed four gallons of the stuff in with my 91 octane, and turned up the wick to 10-ok 11-ok 12-and i stopped. car never felt so tough before, on the freeway it would hit close to 15psi in od, and it stil wouldnt ping, oh boy im ready. all the honda guys hang out at this gas station and pile up heads to go to the racing place, the parking lot of the old candlestick park(GHETTO!). so we spy on them from down the street waiting for them to drive out already. after what feels like hours we finally start trailing the pack. one buddy is in his carbed 383 86 vette with a built 700r4, and my other buddy is rolling in his Turbo2 stock, and we roll up to see about 100 civics, integras, crx's (various crews), ae86(i was down with those guys, they are a drift team i like talking rims with), s2000s, a few supras, turbo2s, rx7tts, and a 300zxtt or two, along with the family cars with fart pipes. first off, nobody there would race my buddies vette, yet they were quick to say how inefficient a v8 was, yet they would not race it. the turbo2 was there just to hang out. we watched about ten very boring honda vs. honda drag matches, and one good 240sx vs. 7mgte supra match. we are all standing around in our little three car pack, i wanted to go home, but my buddies were dying to see the reaction i would get when one of their ranks went down to the 280. i couldnt resist, so i roll up to the "staging lanes" next to a s2000, with some chubby guy with bleached blond bangs listening to bad house music top down the guy looks over at me, smiles, and whips his hair to the side and looks away quickly next to me, thinking im easy killings. thats when i started spooling up, and gave him a shot of hks ssqv, oh yeah, his face really sobered up after that. it was great. we line up, and i hear him take it up to about 5500, hes letting me hear his vtec i guess. i keep the revs up to about 0hg, and when the guy does the hand gesture thats equivalent to the second light on the tree i go to 2psi, and drop the hammer on him. i crushed him out the hole with both a fishtail, and a massive squat( the way i likes it) , hooked the whole show up, and lost that poor guy in first, second pulled away at least two or maybe three cars away, and in third he started closing the gap, but way too late. after that, pure bliss. came back to tell my boys i was gonna go home, and people from the crowd were like" whats in that thing? "man your turbo sounds crazy" "what is that thing?" the guy i raced was very sulky, wouldnt even make eye contact with me. i told em i had a straight six and thats it, and i promptly made a uturn and left, my buddies said that the whole crowd was in awe of the 280, they said they saw wheels come off the ground, because my car squats so much it looks lke the bumper is about to touch the ground!!!!. thats what makes the whole project feel like its worth the time and effort to me besides this drivability- i just knocked the stuffing out a $30,000 car

  16. yeah, definitely would like to see it. i know that the l motor is infamous for leaks out of that spot also, its the only oil passage to the head.
  17. for the price, you cant beat the duke of earl---------sheib. 200.00 for a single stage job? sure they paint over dirt, but they paint over dirt.
  18. This is about a 83 turbo motor swapped into a 280Z. Firts off the thing is fouling out plugs. (that could a million things) It seems to be running rich but once you floor it at high RPM's it wants to stall. ( set timing to 20 BTDC, if timing is set a ways off, it throws off the whole range, timing is controlled by ecu and likes to start around 20 BTDC, i tried to advance mine a little once and right when it was boost time it would want to stall)(also check efi grounds, should be three off the main harness, they are factory grounded to the manifold. I was going to check the TPS and i noticed the connecter that plugs into the TPS only plugs in to the middle and top one. The top one is for idleing and the bottom one is for WOT, right? ( tps on L28et only has two wires off it and only plugs in one way, i think you are ok there, you may need to adjust it so that the it has contact at idle and disengages once pedal is depressed, and engages second contact at about 1/3 of its travel) Is this why it stumbles and almost stalls at WOT? ( no, a bad tps or misadjusted one will run rich at cruising speeds Was there ever a connecter that connected to the bottom one in that plug? If i am confusing anyonelet me know. Thanks in advanced. (pretty confusing, but thats ok)
  19. it should spin freely, with no effort really. sounds like its time to tear it down, or use it as a core.
  20. csv is cold start valve right? you dont need that, its nice, but you dont need it, if its hooked up i wouldnt mess with it. man you run your zx with only injectors and it runs good? that sounds nuts, did you say you even had the afm unplugged and it still runs?
  21. at 500hp-every parts a liability i think, them little nissan u joints taking a 500hp launch?-not for me. thats when the th350 and ford 9 come into play for me.
