  1. You described classic valve guide/seal leakage symptoms. Is your vacuum gauge steady at idle? If the vacuum gauge pulses, that also indicated leaking valve guides. http://www.centuryperformance.com/vacuum.asp
  2. Intercool it now! You are already diseased.
  3. It comes with a bottom snap on adapter to make the height same as stock. The length and width are the same. Just make sure the cables are long enough to swap. The stock battery hold down should work. Mine was wasted so I used a generic one. Just got mine from Autobarn.com (free shipping) and Sears carries Optima but selection is very limited.
  4. Added benefit of an Optima 34R is reverse post. This makes it a much safer mount in the stock position. IMHO Nissan put the positive battery post way to close to the fender. 34R is lighter than stock by a few pounds and has 800cca. You can kill it 100 times and it charges up normally. It costs about $175 though.
  5. Are you the son of Sanford's Son? LOL What I find amazing is that Clive never forgets where he leaves a car, or a part! I would be losing stuff all over the place....that comes with age I guess. http://www.youtube.com/?v=OFMKQx_PDBM
  6. Ahhh the boosted L28 yes it is addicting. The faster you go, the harder it pulls!
  7. 18 years of working on the same damn car, it better be nice... Thank you.
  8. Well, I am about 50 minutes outside of New York city and I don't really know of many shops for Z parts that you can walk into and make purchases. However, if you need to order some stuff and have it shipped to my house, you can then pick it up here. It would not be a problem. How do you plan on getting all the parts back into Europe? PM me and I'll give you the details of where I live and my contact info. We should try to get together some time. Where in Europe are you and where in NY will you be staying? It is a pretty big state. -Dave
  9. Wow, that hit in the video would turn your brain into chili!
  10. It's OK I never get tired of looking at Austin's car and at least 240z_808 has good taste. Welcome 240z_808, use the search features. EVERYTHING has been discussed before.
  11. Check out my faceplate for the Megaview-II kit and the Calibration button and LED for the wideband O2 sensor. It's made of clear lexan with the front finished in black wrinkle paint. I masked off a window for the display. The red square button on the bottom is a compressor kick-in button for the A/C. I have it setup so I can run A/C with heat...for defogging reasons.
  12. The only reason I wouldnt daily drive one of those is because of the giant vehicle and careless drive habits in the US. If everyone had a vehicle that was approximately that weight, I would drive one, no problem....of course I would make it into a HybridS....something involving my old L28 motor.
  13. ALL of the harnesses are fabricated and in the car where they will run. I have to go around and tie them up. It actually came out cleaner in the engine bay than I thought. I am on a coffee break. Next will be cutting and crimping! The garage has become an absolute mess. I took some photos around the garage so you can see all the crap I have laying around. If you see anything you might want or need just ask some of it might be for sale. There is a ton of crap.....the car is NOT for sale. I would never be able to part with all my labor dollars. Optima Reverse Post It's going to be a BIG cleanup once the Z is self powered again! Thank God for gravity!
  14. Congrats. I am about 3 months ahead of you and I am about to finish the wiring. I should be turning the key within a few days. Next comes the debugging and tuning. Start reading the mega manual NOW. Good luck.
  15. Test the cowl induction hood if possible. I have a brand new one hangining in my garage but shipping would be a real PITA.
  16. So the high-center-cowl fiberglass hoods probably reduce front end lift by quite a bit.
  17. I was NOT in my Z when I was forced to stare at the tail lights of a mustang. I don't plan on doing the tailight mod....I was just day dreaming....I think it would look nice.
  18. Doh! I've been search whipped! Thanks for the link. Maybe I'll try to photoshop them onto an S30 this weekend.
  19. I was following one of these the other day and thought that these tail lights might integrate very nicely into a custom tail panel on an S30. Any thoughts, opinions?
  20. I've got a link to photos I took at the Interpid Museum in NYC on my website: I love the F14 also. http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/gallery/1790699
  21. That's pretty much the route that my intake used to take. I had to ovalize it where it drops down behind the rad because I still have an A/C compressor there. Of course my pipe was smaller....pipe envy.
  22. Well, I was able to get some affordable wiring from Home Depot to offset the cost of the new Optima battery. Wiring should resume tonight. The battery I got is an Optima 34R. The R stands for reverse polarity. This is a nice upgrade as it moves the positive post out from under the right fender. Why did Nissan put that hot post so close to sheetmetal? I'll never know. The Optima 34R puts out 800cca and fits exactly like a stock battery. You need the optima height adapter. In my case, the adapter was included with the battery. I will post some more photos tonight or tomorrow. I am going to accelerate progress as I want to try to make the Hemming's Motor News car show up at Limerock, CT on the 27th. Not sure if I'll make it but I'm going to pull out some stops.
