  1. 3.49 or something like that...but I haven't slept in 24 hours. I expected better because I do CAD all day at work. I should have used a ruler too!
  2. DCCD - Driver Controlled Center Differential. You can dial torque split, 60-40, 50-50, or 40-60 front to rear with a dial in the center console in the factory STi, or you can leave it on automatic so it transfers depending on wheel spin. http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/STi05DCCDbuttons2.JPG
  3. Crossed plug wires, damaged plug, valve lash too tight keeping an intake valve open a little, loose spark plug. It definitely has a misfire.
  4. Nothing sounds like a Subaru Boxer. I love the rumble of my flat four, and my door rattles just like his when you close it with the window down.
  5. I think for a hobby driven car that will probably see limited use and mileage you are giving up nothing by soldering over a crimp. Just use the right shrink tubing to act as a strain relief. I generally "crimp" where I can, but if I don't have the tool and I can't make a perfect crimp, I'll solder. I've never had a wire fatigue fail on me. Besides, we aren't at 30,000 feet.
  6. The actual color can be seen in the engine bay of the first photo. The rest of the photo's white balance is off due to the flourescent lights.
  7. Reminds me of the car in Mad Max, Road Warrior. Nice.
  8. Sounds like a better show than 99% of the clap on TV.
  9. I was just trying to get Buzz's post count up....but it don't work in non-tech anyhow! I can't believe the transformation that car is going through. It's like watching my kid grow up for me. I have a long past with that car and I am happy to see it become a happy ending. Mike is taking it to a much higher level. About one week of paint jail left!
  10. The car has been flawless since the EDIS6 install. I do worry about the button head screws getting loose on the toothwheel or the VR bracket shifting but so far so good. I have had no movement or shifting of parts. After I mounted the VR bracket, I crawled underneath and drilled straight up between the AC bracket and the mount, tapped the hole and screwed in a bolt so that it can't move.
  11. Mmmm perfect. Straight hair and curly teeth!

I run the native 1.867 B&G code that came with my MSII. I'm not saying I have the same "burp" as Zmanco does. It sounds the same...I need more datalogging to catch it. I'll try to catch it.

What's a processor reset? Can the processor reset, without showing a system reset, or are they one in the same?
  14. Well, congrats Mike! Welcome to the worlds of turbo and Megasquirt. Idle should be around 21-27 btdc. Mine likes 28.
  15. Schlumberger sounds like a great place to build a work ethic. Kind of like where I got out of Engineering School and worked for four years in a sweat shop. Makes you appreciate working up the ladder.
  16. Oh OK so I get the bee in my bonnet!
  17. I think it would look good next to an S30 in my garage.
  18. Woldson, were you implying something about adiabatic compression and then...."hot air" coming from Tony D? ROFL. You are a killer. Fortunately it comes out with adiabatic expansion and cools back off, so it's not all hot air.
  19. Under drivers seat. BIG PICTURE OF IT IN PROGRESS: http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/photos/154135952_r7nvS-O.jpg .

I have also felt that bump all of a sudden, in the motor. It usually scares the crap out of me. It happens only about once every couple of hours on average. I have never been able to catch it on datalog but it sounds like what you got. I had it with the ZXT dizzy and I still get it with the EDIS-6 system in place. I am not sure it's exactly the same as what you logged, but it sounds the same. I thought it was a reset, but it wasn't because it happend on the way to work one morning and the run-time counter on the Megaview didn't reset.
  22. I would expect about 15-17mpg with a Z on the back.
  23. They dont have double sliding doors and the interior space of a 2000sq-foot house with a low loading height, and they don't handle anywhere near the Odyssey. Besides the Oddy was brandy new, loaded, leather, without nav and backup cam, for 25K with awesome resale value...oh and did I mention it's rated for 26mpg on the highway. Thanks for sharing those towing experiences. It looks like should just make the race car semi-streetable, put the hitch on the Odyssey, try flat towing or dolly towing, and maybe borrow a trailer and test it out with the Odyssey some time down the road. This would leave all of the options open without jumping in with a ton of additional dough at once. I had even thought about towing a 240Z gutted car behind my Turbo 280Z with the Wilwood brakes on it.
  24. Yeah, I feel I need to vent on the track or I will go beyond my limits on the street....that would be bad. Now I am leaning towards a streetable track car to omit all the fuss of trailers and towing for a few track days per year.
