  1. can try it in my car!! 1978 280Z with a 1977 280Z 5-speed
  2. what brand name are those knock off's and where did ya buy em??
  3. Here is one step I sort of... left out... hmm I have MegaSquirt n Spark and 440cc injectors and the stock T3 right now.. intercooled and I have bumped it up to 11psi, but it spikes to 14psi... my question is.. is the stock '78 N/A fuel pump enough to handle the 14psi?! I don't have a Wideband so it's hard to tell, but what experience do you guys have?!
  4. amazing... how much boost ya running?
  5. hey guys... finally went ahead and installed my 240mm flywheel and clutch.. i upgraded from a 225mm to a 240mm.. there are reports saying that you NEED the shorter turbo or 2+2 throwout bearing collar... well I got a shorter one.. and I decided to use the n/a 225mm throwout bearing collar.. for a longer "throw" so i have more clutch movement for engagement.. worked out great!! I had to change out the clutch.. because with a 225mm N/A clutch and a modified n/a block with a turbo slapped on and other goodies.. it slipped.. BAD.. i mean.. it slipped at 2 psi over 3,000 RPM in any gear.. esshkk New pedal is firm.. I have to get used to it.. but I love it! This is what happens when you install a throwout bearing backwards This is what I used to hold the flywheel still so I can torque it to specs... 100 ft/lb on the flywheel and 30 ft/lb for the pressure plate.. this is an old CLOTHES HANGER.. bent up.
  6. Very impressive!! Now get an intercooler and haul some ***!! hehe
  7. 1_fast_Z has one on his monster stroker motor...
  8. 2003Z... I use 5 on the front and 3 on the rear... having the stiffer suspension up front, helps the car turn better I have noticed, especially under braking... Z's love to understeer... I tried 3 front 5 rear, and it was ok.. but the other way around was great
  9. I have one that ran great on my '78 280Z.. untill I swapped out for an 83 dizzy and MegaSquirt.. let me know
  10. Would John's C/F door panels have those speaker cut outs?! I would like some C/F that look stock and would fit a 280z.. by the way.. is there a difference from 280Z to 240Z panels?
  11. I would SOOOO WANT Carbon Fiber door panels.. oh that would be soo f*ckn cool!
  12. I'm down.. and i'm sure.. with everyone on here.. and zcar.com and classiczcars.com and ALL of the Toyota fans... EVERYONE will buy them!
  13. http://www.baddogparts.com 280Z Frame Rails - These are now available for 1975-78 280Zs. These fit over the existing rails and weld right on. Twice the thickness of OEM. Sold individually for $60.00 I dont know.. but $60 for pre built frame rails are CHEAP
  14. running it open is also called a "screamer pipe" very popular in the U.K with Nissan Skylines and such... Not my car.. but you get the idea
  15. yeh I would have to say it's slipping mine is doing it right now... but i have a n/a clutch on a modified turbo motor.. *whoops* dont worry my ACT is coming in very veyr soon
  16. yeh I think ya have a bit mroe research to do... 400 rwHP is a rediculous amount of HP to handle on the streets... let alone 700-1000rwHP.... especially in a teenie car like a Z
  17. Aluminum is light enough... and cheap C/F would be a waste of money unless you are a serious hardcore racer.... and i mean SERIOUS! keep in mind the intercooler will weigh alot.. save weight with a C/F hood, and plexiglass windows.. and you will be happy.
  18. send me a PM or email i have 2 sitting next to me
  19. Anti-Lag systems or the Rally Bang Bang system do the following : When the throttle is closed, an idle speed control valve opens up right next to the throttle body. The extra air is let into the intake manifold, and a bunch of fuel is dumped into the cylinders. When the ECU detects that the throttle is closed, it instantly retards the timing to a point sooo retarted.. that the mixture is ignited WHILE the exhuast valve is still open. This results in an explosion which forces the turbocharger to still spin.
