Sorry for the crappy picture, my camera isn't working right. Anyways you can see from the picture enough how the previous owner of the intake made there own linkage. It works very well and it opens the throttle all the way, He attached the adjustable links into the manifold by drilling and tapping the holes then using a bolt on the outside to tighten them down a bit. Otherwise he modified stock parts to work on the linkage, As soon as I can I will try and take a better picture of the set up.

Yes I was aware of that and also Armor all can only do so much, I was talking about if someone here wanted to make their own reproductions and sell them they might have problems with them cracking during shipping such as someone dropping the box etc. Even if you package them well you could still have small stress cracks from twisting which could lead to larger cracks. Armor all works great for vinyl when it is in place but I bet it wouldn't prevent cracking when shipping or a large impact such as dropping. I had recently read a thread where a member used bed-liner to recover his dash foam, So off the frame, and he had problems with cracking only until he installed the dash foam onto the frame. After that he could only use 6 screws to hold it in place before it would crack again. After all this he hasn't had anymore issues, but still this could be a problem if someone was shipping. Edit: Found the link to the thread. I think it is post #20 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/83443-ritrebor-socal-240z/page__p__858585__hl__8%20screws%20dash__fromsearch__1entry858585 The original intention of my comment how will you ship it if someone does make reproductions so that it won't crack? Even after it ships can you make sure it won't crack when it is taken out of the box and installed? One good Idea might be to make a pressure formed plastic mold to make reproductions or something similar that can be flexible, won't fade, and look decent/stock for the price. Another point if you do make reproductions will you have the supplies, tools, and resources to make it shippable? I'm sure the larger companies have found ways to combat cracking and other issues, but will the normal person be able to come across these materials? Just a few thoughts

280z Backfires, can't find problem

Have you ever cleaned out you gas tank or replaced you fuel filters? If not you should probably do that soon because my 75's Injectors when I bought the car went out and when I took them off I noticed little metal flakes inside on a small filter in the injectors. All of this was because of a rusty old gas tank which is common for Z's. So you may want to drain your tank to see what the fuel inside is like if it is red or if there are small chunks of metal in it. Good luck with your project though -

Well it might be easier just to make the foam part of the dash a reproduction, so you could just screw it into you existing metal frame. The problem with this though is shipping, you would need a fairly large box and what would you do to keep it from cracking? These are just some of the things I thought when I heard about this.

Well I bought a clifford manifold and the previous owner did his own modifications that work awesome. I will try to get pictures later to show the set up but it uses the stock pedal assembly etc.

That connects to the bottom of your intake manifold there is a little valve about in the middle of the intake if you feel under it you will find it. Also that should be secured to the block but I don't know how you would go about doing that. I'm also not sure on the exact purpose I know it would be in the FSM I know it has something to do with the Crankcase ventilation but don't quote me on that.

Thats awesome I was watching a show about cats and how they used a certain breed to treat a kid with autism. His mother thought he wouldn't want to participate in the show because of his autism but he even did a one on one interview with show. All of this was a result of the friendly nature of this one specific breed of cat, which for the life of me I can't remember which. Just thought I would share that

A little Update I found a member, Duncan, of FFCC.asn.au and on his Members page he mentioned that he bought a head from Kevin Mackrell who is the owner and driver of the mysterious 4WD 260z. Anyways I sent Duncan a Email asking him if he had any contact information for Kevin. So I will be awaiting a return email from Duncan so cross your fingers we may finally get some true information about this Z.

I will be out there in July if you still need help by then, otherwise try to find a local Z car guy that could help you out. All I can suggest is that you look through over it and see if you find any open ports, hoses, etc. Also Take some more pictures so we can see whats going on.
-
Awesome! I can't wait to hear this thing run, should be sweet!

Well I tried contacting the guy who races the 4WD 260z,Kevin mackrell, and gave a link to this thread so If I hear back from him I will let you know, or he will just show up in this thread.

Crazyoctopus 1972 240z build up (long first post)

Thats great, glad that worked out and back to the broken stud I feel your pain that same bolt broke on my engine also but I have been unable to get to it, when I take the engine out I will work on that. but good luck this car is going to be a beast. -
Like I said we are on the internet and sometimes it is hard to tell anyways Found a video of inside Kevin Mackrells 4wd 260z Here it is again from a different angle

Basically all he said to you was if you have nothing good to say don't say it at all. Also having a higher post count or being a member for longer doesn't say anything about your experience you could be a guy who has worked on cars for 40 years and have just joined or you could be a member that has been on here for as long as it has existed and almost know nothing. But anyways I would like for this thread not to be closed because I think it could go somewhere in the point of a 4 wheel drive Z which would be awesome. It is the internet and this is a Car forum just chill out and have some fun.

Your going to have to cut your intake manifold down so that it will sit flush with the Header with the stock washers and studs. -
I love my eclipse seats all I did was drill out the spot welds for the Stock rails and I bolted Stock Z rails on and they work just fine, I can go measure how much Height they have left. I'm about 6 Foot and I like to lean the seat back a notch or two and I have a few inches of headroom. The thing I like about them is that they look stock but they are more comfortable and cloth. I got mine from a 1992 Eclipse GS, I'll go take some pictures and measurements. EDIT: with the seat in the furthest upright position there is 6 inches between the top part of the seat and the roof. I will get some pictures of how I attached the seat later, my camera is acting up.

Thanks, My dad towed me down to the car wash yesterday so I get get it cleaned off so I can start cleaning up and painting the engine bay when ready.
