  1. "Yes, my dad said that I have 40/50 PSI on the fuel pressure gauge while cranking" Isn't that supposed to only be 36 psi? Am I wrong?
  2. Thanks guys. Bartman, mine wouldn't work like that because the idle is adjusted at the throttle plate. Now, I suppose I can change that and bypass the throttle body for the idle. Are you saying that there are valves (assuming you have the software to support it) that simply maintain a predetermined idle speed? That's pretty cool, but I just have MS version 1 and I don't think it's that sophisticated. I think I'll go with a GM valve like easy suggested.
  3. Ok, I need some advice and I hope this is the best place to ask. I'm installing megasquirt on my 78 N/A and going with a 240SX throttle body and cable linkage. So now I need a way to bump up my idle when the A/C kicks on. I was thinking that you could take a normally closed solenoid valve with barb fittings and wire it to the compressor so that it opens when the A/C kicks on. So my question is what kind of valve should I use? Did the later 280ZX use a valve or did it still have the "captain hook" thing on the throttle linkage? What about the 300ZX? I appreciate any thoughts you guys have. thanks, -Adam
  4. Hey Roost, are those S-30 seats I see?
  5. Thanks Kevin. I should have done more research (as usual...lol).
  6. Hey Kevin, I don't know if anyone has brought this up but I'm curious about something: I'm wondering how on any of the ITB setups I've seen (your's or other's) you can have independent idle control for things like fast idle when cold or to give an RPM bump when the AC kicks on. I was thinking about the rail that you have pictured where it pulls vacuum off the six runners and then MAP is pulled off the end of the rail. I'm wondering what would happen if you tapped the opposite end of that rail and had a line running to a normally closed valve that would operate off of coolant temp./AC compressor. I know it seems like it would screw up the MAP when the valve opens, but maybe not?
  7. HELL YEAH!!!! Remember to get closeups of that rear spoiler. Congrats!
  8. what about these guys: http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/index.html
  9. Thanks. I guess I have some nightmare scenario in my head where I'm halfway in the engine bay and some clueless neighbor comes over and somehow dislodges the prop rod. I'm not usually that paranoid...........really.
  10. Scott, how do you deal with not having the torsion bars for the hood? Are you just real careful when you have the hood open? not trying to be a smart ass, BTW thanks
  11. I have a question. Is this facility able to do smoke trails (sorry, don't know the correct term.)?
  12. hmmm, looks like the hood is up just a bit in those last two
  13. I can er....um second the second skin recommendation....lol. I bought some for my corolla when I was upgrading the sound system. Put it in the doors and the rear deck. The speakers sounds very good and the doors sound more solid when they are shut. Not an earthshattering difference, but you can tell. I used about a fourth of what I purchased and the rest will go in the Z. I'm looking forward to seeing how much heat I can reduce from coming in through the floors pans and transmission tunnel.
  14. Sorry about that Mike K I need to lock myself away in a cave for a few weeks. This is so cool.
  15. This is great guys. Thank you for all the hard work. I would certainly be willing to donate again for "round two". A few people have mentioned the Supra spoiler. I was curious about this as well and had mentioned it as a "request" when the donations were kicking off. Then I found out that MSA no longer sells it so I figured it was a moot point. I wonder if MSA would produce it again if it were a proven positive commodity? Maybe they could even improve the design (like someone suggested, it may not need to be as big). Mike, could you possibly donate yours just for testing next time? I don't know how difficult it is to take on and off. Sorry, I'm getting over-stimulated.........
  16. Fantastic. Post lots of pictures!
  17. Guy, I was wondering if you have painted your car yet. I was curious to see how that rear spoiler looks when finished.
  18. Hey Dave or Viper, what kind of power steering will be going in? Subaru, Miata, Mustang, other?
  19. This is probably unrelated, but there is a guy over on the ignition/electrical forum that is having the 4000 rpm cutout because he accidentally cut his O2 sensor wire and resoldered it. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=120063 Just thought it was an interesting coincidence. Hope you get this resolved soon so you can get back out to enjoying your car.
  20. It's one of several options for a power steering conversion. None of them are "bolt on" however.
  21. That looks smooth.......literally and figuratively. Will you be willing to tap vacuum ports as necessary?
