  1. Mike (or anyone else that knows), does that EP-35 still "click" when the binkers are on? thanks
  2. Do the Spal fans always run or just under certain parameters?
  3. Did you do any structural reinforcement to the inner fender? I see alot of people say that is a sensitive area to put holes in?
  4. Man, that looks great! Can't wait to see it with the bumper on.
  5. Title pretty much covers it. I have seen an occassional picture of this done and I like it personally. What I am really curious about is has anyone done this and used the mirror controls from a GL model? If so would you mind posting a picture or two of where you mounted the controls. It seems like between the shifter hole and the ashtray might work nice assuming there is enough space. thanks, -Adam edit: too early to spell "mirrors" correctly, apparently :-/
  6. Wow Deja, I'm not usually a fan of these taillight modifications but that looks very tasteful.
  7. I can't think of any reason aside from aesthetics.
  8. You mean the verticle seam from the rear & bottom corner of the door, right? I think some people, when they repaint their cars, choose to weld some of the body seams closed. Looks great but I guess the risk is having to replace a greater section if something happens.
  9. I didn't realize those seats were so tall! Or am I imagining that? They look fantastic.
  10. Isn't a 93mm bore considered pushing it for an L-engine?
  11. I hate asking such basic questions on this forum, but here we go. I want to have idle independent of the throttle plate and I'm not sure what size line to run. I don't want to get too big otherwise the calibration falls within a very narrow range. I'm looking at the needle valves that McMaster carries but the ones that look like they would work well all have a 1/8" orifice and that seems too small. Thoughts? This is a 3.0 liter L-28. Thanks:-) -Adam
  12. Actually, they are ill-tempered sea bass....sorry.
  13. Bumping an old thread. Datman, how did you modify your intake for the Delphi injectors? thanks
  14. I'm bumping this thread for two reasons: 1. This is a cool build and I am curious as to its progress. 2. I have an ulterior motive and I was specifically hoping Derek and Tony D could help. First off, Derek, where did you get that combo idle control thingy? I don't have ITB's so it doesn't matter for me but is just a clean looking piece. Ok, so I have the jeep stepper motor control body that Matt (DIY autotune) sells and now I am wondering if there is some way to incorporate a set/bleed screw into it? If you look at the photo: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/custom-idle-air-control-body-for-use-with-jeep-40l-iac-valve-p-69.html The NPT threaded hole on the left is air going out of the body and to the intake. Couldn't you drill/thread a 1/4" hole into the SIDE of that outlet and install a bleed screw with a spring? Then drill another hole into the hole you JUST drilled (say, from the top) and put a 1/4" NPT/barb into that hole? I think the body itself is big enough and obviously the threads for the bleed screw would have to be fine pitch, but wouldn't that work?
  15. Ok Dan. Sounds reasonable. Thanks.
  16. That's an interesting thought Randy (and no wife to worry about!). May just try that and resetting the ECU may be worth a shot as well. 75,000 miles too soon to do an fuel system/injector cleaning? I tend to think so but what say ye?
  17. Thanks guys. It's not bad enough that I am going to take it in at the moment but I'll just have to keep an eye on it. Jasper, thanks for educating me. I didn't realize that IAC's were "obsolete". I really can't think of anything that has been even slightly different regarding my driving conditions or habits. I live in Dallas and except for a few weeks ago we haven't had ice on the windshields. This is something that has been going on for several months now. I don't "document" my mileage to the extent that I keep a log book, but I am one of those anal people that is very aware of such things. Thanks again guys.
  18. Well, maybe not "off topic" since this is the general board, but anyway..... So, in the span of several months my otherwise miserly toyota has gone from upper 30's on the highway to upper 20's. It is completely stock (it's a corolla for eff's sake). The tire pressure is good and they are the factory size, the oil is fresh Mobil 1 5w-20 synthetic per specs, I have replaced the plugs with NGK iridium's per specs, the air filter is clean. The car has 75,000 on it and otherwise appears to be running perfectly fine. It feels like it has the same amount of power as it always has (which isn't much). It's a stick. Just got back from my sister's and my brother in law has a diagnostic tool that hooks up to a laptop. No codes came up but it read that the engine had a 12% load at idle which he thought was odd since his Subaru shows zero load at idle. It may just be a difference in the ECU's (I really don't know). It also read that the throttle position was 16.5% at idle. That DOES seem strange as I assumed that all newish cars control idle with an IAC not at the throttle plate. Well, this is getting long but I would appreciate any thoughts as I can't arbitrarily throw money at my car at the moment. thanks in advance
  19. My link I haven't seen this before. Thanks.
  20. Also, isn't the tranny tunnel carpeted on the 280's (at least it is on my 78)? Not that you couldn't put vinyl on if you wanted to, just saying.
  21. Hmmm, dissapointing to hear that as it would be nice to have a little more room up there. I'll probably just stay put and work on other things that are more important. Thanks!
  22. Hey guys, I have been trying to find a website that I lost the link to. It was an aftermarket supplier that only made a handful of items. One of those items was replacing the torsion bars with brackets and struts. I got laid off a couple months back and forgot to write down all my website addresses (wasn't exactly a priority at the time...lol). I'll keep searching but if someone happens to know, I would appreciate it. thanks, -Adam
  23. Derek, are you using that cruise control made by audiovox?
  24. Steve Ehlers at Rising Sun is very experienced. Not cheap though.
  25. I wonder what the alternator requirements would be to run that?
