  1. I have done quite a few stereo installs, not much with custom speaker setups, but a couple, and I agree, less is oftentimes more. You don't need 20 amps putting out 90 bajillion watts to sound good. I ran a POS Toyota Camry with a class D 2 channel 1200 watt amp and another class A 4 channel 600 watt amp, all powering 2 infinity reference 6x9's, 2 infinity reference 4" rounds, and 2 kenwood 12" subs in a dual port box that I built. The Amps were some no name brand that I ordered and after I tuned everything I was out-sounding a bunch of SUV's with $5,000 dollar systems. The key is in sound deadening and using quality wiring, having a good tuner is a really good thing too. Of course, any stereo installer worth their salt will tell you the exact same thing so I'm probably wasting my time here. Oh and I haven't even started the stereo for my S130 yet.
  2. But how does that help me?? If he swaps the parts then I have no way of getting them for cheap, sheesh, think things through already.
  3. You know, there is a search button for a reason.
  4. I just moved from Cali, and it is illegal to use any tint that blocks vision in or out of the car on the fron windows. The only thing allowed is non-colored UV tint.
  5. ^^Thats a little callous, but since we're on the subject, I was lookin at the wheels
  6. You know, you could always use the redneck method. Get 4 or 5 guys together with the promise of beer, and use man power to pull it out.
  7. I tried dating a mute but got tired of her waving at me
  8. Lol, now that's just great, where can I find a woman like that??
  9. It has happened a couple times since the downtime
  10. I don't think that anyone here is ever "normal." You might want to rephrase that question.
  11. I am in North Dakota and am looking for a 240 or 260z to build as a race car. I do not need any engine or drivetrain, however I would prefer that the interior be intact and that rust be minimal. I am hoping to spend $500 or less and don't mind a little bit of travel. Thanks, Chuck
  12. That does look really freakin cool, do you mind me askin how much it cost to get it coated like that? I've got a few aluminum parts in my closet that I've been polishing all winter that I think would look really good in blue.
  13. I would agree that a cherry picker is always a good thing to have around. I am a bit biased against Harbor Freight after I had an angle grinder blow up in my face(casing split, pieces everywhere, grinding disc went rolling down the road) All I got was a fat lip, but I vowed never to buy from them again, and to steer people away whenever possible. But I would recommend getting a hoist.
  14. Wow, some of these cars are truly amazing. I am not planning anything that radical for mine, but this sure has given me a lot of inspiration.
  15. Looks pretty good, how does it sound?? As for that carbon fiber, it looks alot like the "carbon fiber" vinyl that a lot of audio shops use to make things look cool.
  16. I think that you will need power locks, however if you are going to shave the handles and keyholes, you may not need locks at all. Whatever you do, make sure that you have a backup switch somewhere hidden, if you lose power somehow, you will not get into your car without it.
  17. Very close actually, as of December 2008, our unemployment rate was 2.5% statewide, and we're one of three states that is not in debt. Something like $8 billion in the black if I remember correctly. It's the only reason that I moved here from Cali last year.
  18. Now that sounds like my kind of race.
  19. There's just no way that your POS 2+2 is that fast without shiny paint and racing stripes. Everyone knows that the only proven method of making your car that much faster is with paint and racing stripes. All that technical engine mumbo jumbo don't mean nothin if you ain't got the bling bling to back it up, yo yo.
  20. I swear, I need to quit visiting this site. All these AHA moments are starting to cost me.
  21. Oh really, so you're gonna move south huh??
  22. Ahh, I see, I don't think that Pep Boys knows that North Dakota exists. Pssh $39 price tag, and here I was gonna go spend $900 on new wheels. Whodathunkit.
  23. You could move to North Dakota and piss everyone off with your California attitude and accent. They still don't believe that they're the one's with accents. Oh, and the economy is still good here.
