You're joking, but notice they all have bodyguards and many of the main gungrabbers have carry concealed permits - case in point, Diane Feinstein, America's #1 gun (owner) hater. In CA, it's almost impossible to get a carry permit, unless you're a politician or work for one. Why else do you think they are so eager to make it illegal for you to own a gun? Um, not to sound too obvious here but - why not another S30? It can meet all your above requirements, and you likely already have spare parts and lots of experience working on them. Seems like the most logical answer to me...but if you have some criteria I don't know about and want something else, check out 80's RWD 200sx's - esp the ones that came with a CA18ET. They are cheap, light and fun.

18k for the turbo car with suspension, brakes, bracing, and a tec2 is not bad at all, if it was done well and the car is solid. I know I have much more invested and my car isn't close to done.

Although it seems your question is already answered, I just wanted to add that I have the short knuckles, 225/50/16 tires, and 13" wheel on my 77 and the 13" wheel made a much more noticable difference than the other 2 modifications. Personally, though, I like it.

Mike, thanks for your post. I have read quite a few news stories and discussions about civil rights abuse and misconduct by LEOs in the last several years. However, I have stopped saying anything about it when the topic arises. Without a background and first-hand experience like yours, I apparently don't have enough credibility. So I'm glad you're around to share. I also believe the police serve a valuable function when they are protecting our rights, and I encourage everyone to read about what has happened to this country since the "war on drugs" befell us.
