  1. I would fly in and ride it back. Sounds like you'd have more interesting stories to tell. And that is what life is all about!

    Phase2

Anyone heard anything about an engine importer called Phase 2? (Or Phase II) A guy I met with an SR20 said they are an actual importer in CA, not a reseller, with excellent customer service and good prices. That's what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, could they have picked a worse name? Obviously that's freakin impossible to search for. I tried anyway and had no luck. So if someone has a webpage for them, I'd appreciate it. -Forrest
  3. Unless it's really easy to bolt on the TPS, you might be better off just selling your TWM TB and buying a 240sx TB/spacer kit. You probably won't have to spend much (if anything.)
  4. Wierd! She looks Japanese, but the announcer is definitely not speaking Japanese, I wonder where this was...
  5. I have been looking for a set of these flares as well, with no real luck. I have seen pics of Bob_H's car (any updates bob?) and that's what I'd really like to find. Please let me know if anyone finds a similar kit for sale.
  6. 2126, I'm glad there are at least a few sane people left here (the US). I sent this link to a few people who said "What's the big deal?"
  7. What a mockery our government has made of "freedom." http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/05/real_id.html
  8. The sunroof destroys all it's value as a collectible. I love the BP, but if you're going to keep one stock, that just won't fly.
  9. Get in while the getting is good! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7972725167
  10. Does anyone know what's required to reflash the z31 ECU?
  11. I got one of those, too, but on my 77 with the plain old L6 in it.
  12. I think people should have to put on shocking collars when they post, and if the question has already been asked, ZZZZAP!
  13. I asked about this on MS forums last year and as I understand it, what the TPS gauge has nothing to do with the voltage values MS looks for. If you have a problem with MS's actual behavior you will have to physically calibrate the TPS by repositioning it and checking with a volt meter.
  14. Cool! Where did you get your leds?
  15. It's connected on pin 21.
  16. If the car was running before it went down, this is pretty unlikely - but have you checked your fusible links? After everything you've mentioned I can't think of anything else. You can also do the FSM voltmeter tests on the AFM, I suppose.
  17. Heck yes man. We have a good club here, you should come to one of the meetings sometime. http://www.louisianazclub.org There is a link posted there for the Yahoo group we have, which is a mailinglist. We have several chapters and many events. What part of the state are you in, and what year is your car?
  18. Yes, and it's funny because I don't watch ANY tv, whatsoever (besides this.) I just happened to see the pilot with a friend of mine and it's got far far above average production and acting. So I've kept up with it.
  19. Keep checking on ebay. I just saw one on ebay for 240$ shipped buy-it-now. The fidanza is nice because it has a replaceable friction surface. If you're using grabby clutches you'll appreciate that feature a LOT. They are only like 54$ from Summit, so keep in mind that any used fidanza you can find with good teeth can be put back to new condition for that price. I love the engine response you get from the 10lb flywheel.
  20. That is what I said, so, that's where _I_ am coming from, not him. Here is what he said "I think I can safely say, if I was 2-3 cars ahead of him and pulling away by 80mph even after he had a head start, and guesstimating that I should be at close to 100mph in a 1/4 mile, means we still had a little ways to go to reach that distance... I must be good for at least a mid 13, and that was with a crappy launch to boot!" And...no. Absolutely not. You are good for a mid 13 when you have run a mid 13 on the track and have a record of it. End of story.
  21. You're tired of hearing it? Well, there's an easy way to guarantee you'll never hear it again. Don't say silly things like that. The reasons you are arguing are exactly why you can't use street racing as a metric, so thanks for supporting my point. On the street, all those variables AND the reaction time, distance, speed measurements are up in the air. Going to the track gives you exact timed measurements of your runs. Who said it determines exactly what the car is capable of? It determines what YOU are capable of in the car, on that day, in those conditions. With repeated runs you can average out those conditions to get an idea of your car's potential with you driving. Then, if you really want to, you can "bench race." Going in the opposite direction (racing on the street) and then quoting track times that someone ran as a measurement of how the guy you just raced "might" have run, and trying to use that as a standard to judge your own track times is utterly ridiculous. Just think about it in context instead of getting riled up. If you decide to go to the track one day, make ten runs and see how your first run goes compared to your last run, you will understand immediately how unreasonable your assumptions were, I PROMISE you. Or just watch! Watch people run 15's and 16's in stock cars that "the average driver can run mid-13's in." Observe how their times vary! From your posts, it sounds like until you take my advice, you're not going to understand. So, I implore you, JUST GO TO THE TRACK.
  22. Sorry, if you think you have an idea about your car's performance from a street race you are deluding yourself, not being realistic. I'm not trying to be a jerk, that's just the way it is. You can't say anything about "the average" anything driver unless you have done some kind of random sampling, and even then, running them on the street tells you nothing. Just go to the track! It's not a big deal.
  23. I saw that car in person and you got a really great deal. Congrats! However, if I remember correctly you have some serious issues to deal with on the frame rails, so good luck with that.
  24. zhome.com says there were only 750-1500 made, exact number unknown. They are more desirable to me, anyway, obviously there is no universal rule on what each person will say. There is an email address on the black pearl page on zhome - that guy can tell you where to get the stripe reproduction kits.
