  1. That's not the way to hook it up. You run the optical CAS to the megasquirt tach in, and you have to use the pullup resistor - moby's diagram on hooking that up is very clear. It is really easy if you're using the relay board, just run take a 1k resistor and run it between the power terminal block and the optical sensors' input on the other terminal block. Then you run the FIDLE out from MS to the input of MSD, and hook MSD up to the coil. That is all there is to it. I don't know about other people who seem to have no problems with the inverted output in megatuneSS, but I had to get a special version of the MSS code with 50% dwell from Magnus. He posted it in the MSS forum on http://www.msefi.com Good luck.
  2. He hasn't stated his principles. From what he's talking about doing, it looks like I would agree with them - except for the fact that he's talking about capping "gas profits." While you're at it, just go ahead and cap everyone's profits. Welcome to Russia!
  3. Hey, you know you can run Megasquirt fuel and spark on one piece of hardware with MegasquirtNSpark code, right? Not to mention that Megasquirt2 is coming out right now! http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=2326 Glad you're here. -Forrest
  4. Hey guys, I couldn't find any recommendations in this forum for going from hardline to braided hose that didn't include replacing the hardline with 3/8" line. Does anyone know where I could get 6AN to 5/16ths compression fitting? Or did anyone find a different way to solve this problem? Also, off topic, I'm having trouble finding brass vacuum t's and 6AN to barbed fittings, if anyone knows where to pick those up. Thanks, -Forrest PS I didn't have any luck at Jegs or Summit, but if you have part numbers, hook me up.
  5. Mike, your last couple posts definitely make me feel a little better. Thanks. -Forrest
  6. I am reminded of Howard Cosell's near career-ending comment: "Look at that monkey run!"
  7. I want to point out that if you look at a lot of the other popular car forums online, most of them are filled with unreadable garbage. This site still stands out from the rest - let's keep it that way. A typo or two, a grammar mistake, a misspelling here and there, (a run on sentence ) - I don't think that's going to make a post unreadable. On the other hand, leaving out ALL punctuation, capitalization, grammar, and spelling half your words wrong is ridiculous. To people who say, "Oh I just didn't want to go to the trouble" - well, don't expect me to go to the trouble to reply to your mess.
  8. Their review of the 350z was ridiculous, and they've said extremely nasty things about first generation Z's off camera. So, I don't watch their junk anymore. I'd rather watch untranslated Best Motoring reviews.
  9. I don't dream of owning that italian junk. I've already got my dream car.
  10. Darius? Where is Darius's timeslip? I bet we have more than a few people here that can spank him already.
  11. Speaking of, anyone who doesnt believe we are descended from monkeys needs to watch that. Heh. That reminds me of back in the day when we played Doom for the first time with the lights off, and the speakers cranked up, on my friends shitty 486 33mhz. That was some scary shit. That's what made Doom so popular, not just that it was breaking new FPS ground, no - it was the first game that would scare the living hell out of you when you got into it. It was so dark you couldnt' see hardly anything half the time, even cranking up the contrast to the max. From what I saw of the doom3 alpha a while ago, ID software may have done it again. (Not saying that that video is not completely rediculous, of course.) But with the right environment it looks like it will startle the hell out of you. Too bad I have way too much to do on my car to play video games.

  13. Frank, at those prices, I'd buy 2 of each, if not more.
  14. It's not the "power of the internet" those guys have to worry about. It's the "power of bored car enthusiasts who browse automotive forums all day instead of doing their work." hehe This is not the first time this has happened...anyone remember that dealership that tried to screw the kid that won the auction for the Lancer Evo 8 ? They lost so much business to people calling and yelling at them that they finally took a loss (which they agreed to do in the first place) and sold him the car at the closing price. I bet they thought that there was "nothing he could do about it," same as these bastards no doubt believe. Mobs of angry people rock! Keep up the good work.
  15. You ought to give us a description of everything you've done so far, and what (nonobvious) is left to do before it can be back together. That might be motivation in itself.
  16. Why can't you rotate it on the jack? What do you do instead? I mean, before I was positioning it with a floor jack, that was a nightmare. As far as getting it off, it's not like you can't take it off the jack once it is down. Anyway, if you never use yours, maybe you should send it to Yasin. I use mine all the dang time. -Forrest
  17. I am glad someone beat me to the punch and even provided a link. You HAVE to get a transmission jack. Those things are so helpful...you can use them to swap diffs by yourself too. Talk about a world of difference. I do not consider that an optional tool. They are often on sale for only like 49$ too. -Forrest
  18. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=pallnet&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50 -Forrest PS - You get what you pay for.
  19. You might also very possibly be looking at Pete's rails... id is pallnet. His work is exceptional, and he has excellent customer service as well. I bought 2 of his rails, one barbed, and one o-ring...his mounts are very nice, as well. Pete has many satisfied customers that had different needs - I know he's done a lot of customization for different people other than myself, depending on the application. -Forrest
  20. Even if I could get in on it, I wouldn't. It would be immoral, since they have never done anything I could or would want to sue them for. They have made ebay transactions a breeze, and low profit sales worth making - just because you can complete them without wasting time. If they go out of business, maybe I'll sue the people who sued them, for making ME lose sales. By their logic, I would be in the right.
