  1. I have a p90a head... which cam should I get from msa... the stage 1 or stage 2? whats the difference? Also I've heard the stock cam is good for 400whp...
  2. Well I already have the msa flush mounts... I plan to either keep them installed or go with the smaller door mount side mirrors of a topic I bumped below this one that displays a white z car with them. What I was wondering is if anyone fixed the vibration issues on these mirrors?
  3. Anyone ever figure out what side mirrors these are?
  4. Talk to john washington. He will help you with the pieces you need to graph airdams into the subtle z fenders...
  5. Thankful for the twin dual ball bearing gt25 turbos going on the 300zxtt.
  6. Or you can do what I did... Go turbo first... then upgrade the suspension/brakes if money allows. She'll be quick but depending on the condition of the suspension it might get alittle unstable. But if your suspension and brakes are in good shape... it really wont be TOO bad. My suspension was terrible, I always thought when i drove it "oh its just an old car" but the shocks were so gone in the rear that when we pulled them a month ago they would go in by themselves without even pushing on them and the ones on the front could be compressed with your hands... But anyways, buy an l28et for like $300... All other parts to go with it for like $600 and then do the work yourself.
  7. BUMP... i know this is an old thread but can anyone add to what they have achieved? I'll probably eventually try pushing my stock bottum end to 400 whp.
  8. Are those taillights factory zxr? hmmm interesting. Never seen those before.
  9. Im going to throw this out there... Some good reads. But as far as altitude making a big difference? It appears it only makes a big difference when comparing with a difference of 5000 ft between elevations.
  10. G-Force. acceleration... thats what makes a car fast in my opinion... feeling some serious g's when flooring the gas. Not so much "chirping the tires", any car can do that... Trust me ANYTHING can do a burnout... haha you just have to get creative if it doesnt have alot of power...
  11. Just use the 82-83 280zx tail lights... Those are the best looking tails on a 280zx in my opinion. Honest opinion on the z32 tails? They look really good just need to be raised alittle. They sit alittle low
  12. Yup the more unstable a car is... adds to the "out of control" feel and makes you think your going faster than you really are. Older cars were fast? Naaa just had a piss poor suspension setup and narrow tires.
  13. Hahaha I've thought this oh so many times... Another thing people say "Oh the cars use to be much faster than they are today..." B-F'in-S!!! Maybe it was fast back in the day when they thought 14 secs in the quarter was fast or that it could do a burnout with 5" wide tires.... Im calling out all cars muscle, import everything. If you lined up say a stock camaro old vs new with the new would be as fast if not faster than the older one. The difference between the two being the newer one has better technology and operates more efficiently.
  14. Im talking about timZ being the highest hp documented l28et and you guys talk about how easy it is to fake... I'm supprised Tim isn't insulted.
  15. Yes and to use the 300zx cv's you will need a special adapter only purchasable through modern motorsports and as i said before he is hard to get ahold of. Use 280z halfshafts, no adapter is needed.
  16. ^what he said. And also modern motorsports sells the brace. It took me 6 months to get in contact with ross to accually buy it though... so good luck on that. An alternative is to swap covers. Put a stock r200 smooth cover on the r200lsd from the 300zx. No modification or brace would be needed. You also need a 280z mustach bar for the 300zx diff if you dont already have one or if you car isnt modified with one. Also you will need the input flanges to each halfshaft and halfshafts from a 280z, or cv shafts from a 280zx(adapter needed that modern motorsports sells) or cv shafts from a 300zx... again adapter needed from modern motorsports. Cheapest way? Find a 280z in a boneyard and get the mustach bar, diff cover, both halfshafts w/ input flanges(how the half shafter connect to the differential) they snap in and snap out. Accually I take that back. I have a cover I can sell you. a smooth r200 cover. Hows 35$+shipping?
  17. Those converters are amazing... haha just make sure you clean/sand alittle and put a top coat over the converter.
  18. Well its alot easier to believe documentation than hear-say... Cleve do you know what size pistons your running? Or the Compression ratio?
  19. Then i guess i should say 650whp is the highest documented l28et. As i havent seen a dyno sheet/buildup/pictures of one over 650whp...
  20. Just post a picture of your engine on the intake side... That should tell alot...
  21. Hahaha! Glad to see you getting rid of the 280zx in style! Accually moderns30... the th400 auto trans has made alot of cars go really fast in the 1/4. Im looking forward to seeing this buildup... Isnt TimZ the record holder right now for l series power at 650whp?
