  1. Right, didn't notice that. I took those from an RK-R thread on a Miata forum. They do appear to be real. "/ Here is a picture of the RK-R.
  2. I guess I could have said that for you, I knew that. I can't afford them, especially since I don't have an engine, but I am interested. Every time I get close to affording the next mod on my car I break something else.
  3. Well it has been a long while since I have posted any kind of updates. I am on my second L28, the first one through a rocker arm. Now this new one is telling me knock knock jokes. I am going to head to the Pull-A-Part tomorrow with hopes that one of the two 86 z31's will be a turbo. If not, maybe an N/A VG30 until I can get the turbo stuff? We will see.
  4. Hey guys, I stumbled upon a site browsing another forum that sells roll cage kits. They have ones for Z's and 510's but I just wasn't sure if anybody on here has one of there kits. I am not sure of the quality and fit of the roll cage. I am very interested to see what people thing of their cages. They also off a custom build design where they take dimensions you give them and turn them into CAD drawings, where they then make a full roll cage out of that. Thank you for any input. http://shop.brokedickracing.com/Roll-Bars-and-Cages_c_162.html
  5. Is the slot on the bottom for a radio? Sorry if that is a dumb question. I really like the wheel, I believe it is a Sparco competition? Dash looks good, simple and clean.
  6. The issue with doing the harness like that is it pushes the shoulder straps away from your body. It completely defeats the purpose of the harness. I see so many harnesses posted on this forum and on other forums. It really bugs me because safety is #1.
  7. I was going to say your front brakes could have a bend or kink in the lines, or blockage. Causing the pedal to be firm like that, and for you to have no brakes on the front.
  8. I really wish the cowl panel was smooth, I kinda like the look of the smooth ones, but I love the parts anyways.
  9. Didn't you sell this car for something like $65,000? Maybe more, I know you had upwards of like $125K+ if I remember correctly. Beautiful car, an inspiration to us all, passionate about z cars, or passionate about automobiles in general. You build the car well and the right way to do it.
  10. I feel like you should do it, and do an extensive install write up, I know you already have the first write up. You are bound to do things differently this time with previous experience on hand. I really really really want to do a VG30ET swap, or a VG33E-T swap. It is in my plans for the future, but being in college makes it rather difficult to have the time and money to accomplish such a goal, and L28et is much more attainable I feel.
  11. Porsche 944's came factory with aluminum lugs. I am sure there are others out there, RAY's engineering makes aluminum lugs as well. They are extremely light weight, if you were building a race car, ever ounce counts. You just have to be very careful with install. I worked at discount tire, we did not use air tools on aluminum lug nuts, hand tighten only with a torque wrench to proper spec.
  12. I know that TrumpetRhapsody and I are interested in the RK-R in similar or the same sizing as the RB and RB-R group buy. Here is an image of an RK-R next to what I believe is a real Wat.
  13. I am not bashing or anything, just putting my personal opinion out there. I really kinda have a hate for the way turbo mufflers and glass packs sounds. My exhaust is off the stock manifold, 2/5 inch. Then as soon as I could 3" mandrel bent all the way back to a 3in-3out Thrush Welded 2 chamber muffler. It is really deep, almost sounds like a road race car. Has a rumble at idle but really seems to scream at high RPM. I built the exhaust myself and I am rather proud. I would get an exhaust note video, but I happened to blow my L28 up.
  14. Must say I am quite surprised. My 280z runs rich, I have issues with my AFM, I lost the main relay, that is pretty well impossible to find, cost 125 dollars I think advance auto could have got it for me, I tracked a used one down though.
  15. I actually really like those 501's! I kinda think I might sell my 002's!
  16. I really don't understand what is so hard about it. It is an engine right? Yes it is more complex, but it is in ways no different than an LS1 per say. You remove the complicated systems you don't use, then run it on a full stand alone. Not saying it would be cheap, but likely easier than trying to implement the stock GT-R harness in an S30. I'm sure there are cam timing controllers and stuff that would be hard to program into a stand alone system, but not impossible.
  17. I understand your explaination. But the RC engineering connectors listed, I don't see the difference in the clips. They still have the standard metal clip that holds them on. I'm not challenging you in any way. I am just making sure you actually looked. Because I think I know the ones you are talking about, but I don't think they are the ones in the auction. Maybe I am incorrect? I could be. Again, not challenging you, maybe I just don't see the difference.
  18. I understand you want a pre-bent kit. But I would recommend looking into just buying bulk stainless brake line, the fittings you need, and renting the tools from autozone to bend and flare the lines. It will likely be cheaper. Plus you will be able to move things where you want to put them for ease.
  19. I purchased them for my Mega squirt. The guy is actually a buddy of Mat Beck (FlatBlack). They seem of high quality, come with instructions, heat shrink wrap, and electric grease. I thought it was a killer price too!
  20. Anything can be repaired. BUT It may take quite a bit if the frame is somehow bent. If it is really just the sheet metal and quarter panel area then it really should be a simple fix. Just a spot weld puller gun thingy, and some hard work that is.
  21. I saw the movie. 82 turbo. It gets t-boned, but looks VERY animated at the part. I don't think they actually crashed the car.
  22. Sure, do you want to gain power? Then it will do it. Just don't expect huge gains.
  23. Yep, he is on facebook now and again.
  24. You don't know much about drifting if you don't know about lock angle. Which is one of the most important parts of drifting because angle is supposed to be everything.
