  1. Shipping to California is around 215.00 bucks deliverd to a residence... I have a few bites on it down here, but no one has "showed me the money!"... Myron
  2. Seems kinda high to me, but I do not know much about mopar parts. I sold my used 355ci 450+HP sbc motor for 2200.00 with everthing but a carb. An MSD ignition is only around 160 bucks. and You can get some block hugger headers coated by Speedtech on this forum for a very good price. I have an LT1 complete for sale now for 1500 bucks and I know of a modified tranny for it for around 1100.00 you could figure around 3500-4000 for a good LT1 and auto 4l60E tranny in and running... Just my 2 cents! Myron
  3. Craig, I have stong running LT1 for sale for 1500.00 complete with computer and all the accessories including the A/C.. By the time you scrounge a donor and go through the whole process of rebuilding it to a good 300 hp you may want to consider an LT1.. I got one ready to go for 1500.00 Myron
  4. Alex, call me 832-541-3225... I tried 3 times to reply to your email and I keep getting fatal errors from my email server. Sorry guys for posting this here but I dont have any options.... Myron
  5. Yeah, they are 18x9.5 truck rims wrapped in 295/45ZR F1's. They are a 5 spoke wheel that looks pretty dang good....
  6. Gotcha.. Can the strut towers be slightly angled inward to accomodate a wider rim without adversly affecting the suspension geometry and can it be alligned properly if done?.. I know that one can get a coil over conversion and that the spring perches can be raised up above the wheel. I havnt been under the back of the car in a while and I cannot remember exactly how the strut is attached to the axle housing.. Myron
  7. I just called the local Ford Motorsports shop in town and he could not tell me the backspacing on the wheel, however he did quote me 471.00 on a replacement rim. I can understand the dealer making some money on these, but did I miss something? As posted earlier, SCCA mentioned 175.00 each. Are there different size wheels on the different year model Lightnings? Are the ones mentioned an aftermarket copy?.. Myron
  8. The Lightning wheels look to have a close to centered offset. I plan on doing the coil over springs on my 78. The wheels Pete has look to fill the wells quite nicely and they are 17x9.5's. I am going to pick them up Thursday and if it doesnt look like I can make them fit I already have a buyer at double what I paid.
  9. OK. 1500.00 last call! I have someone wanting to swap it for a 1984 suburban that is pretty clean and it has big tires and a body lift and a pretty good interior, the motor is waek though and it doesnt have a/c... I need quick cash to buy a different deal that I can sell easy and make up the 400.00 I waould be loosing... Email me offline or call 832-541-3225
  10. I think I may have just hit the jackpot! on of my vendors bought a 1999 Lightning and he has finally reached the 15,000 mile mark and he picked up a flat tire. He went to get a new tire and went into sticker shock.. Long story short: I got the set with 3 good tires and one that has a nail in it for 500.00... I plan on picking them up next week.. Question is, can I squeeze them under the Z car and has anyone done a ford rotor conversion? Myron
  11. Hey guys, I am wanting to sell my LT1 to finance a custom suspension. It is complete from to to bottom with AC,pwr steering, and all the accessories including the computer and harness... Essentially it is ready to drop in a Z car... I would prefer selling it to someone local that can see it and pick it up... Email me off line for more information... Thanks, Myron
  12. Scottie, is the belt slipping at high rpms causing voltage loss? I was under the impression that 14.2 is the normal charging voltage at cruizing rpm. I did notice changes in the SOUND of my fuel pump when my electric fan would kick on, but I never noticed power loss due to lack of fuel pressure. Myron
  13. I have the the factory wiring harness with the fuse box and all the relays for a 78 if you are interested. I was not the one who removed it from the car so I would have to double check to makesure that no wires were cut. Email me off line if you are interested.. Myron
  14. Bobby, Remember that car doesnt weigh much. gobs of torque is great, but if you cant put it to the ground it is useless.. build the bottom end strong and then put a power adder to it. You rode in my car and it was just a 355ci with stock crank and rods with a CR of 10.2. 0-60 in 4.5 and 1/4 mile speeds pushing 120 aint to shabby for a 355 c.i.!!
  15. Bobby, call me. I think I can help you out.
  16. Bobby, I hear you found Max and the 240V8. Congratulations!!. I wanted to race that car BAD but it was never legal when I would drive by... How does it run? did you drive it back to Lufkin?... Did you ever get hold of Jason D??? Myron
  17. I am the not so proud owner of a 97 TA with the LT1 and I am pretty sure it is rated at 285hp.. I am also in the process of installing an LT1 in my 78Z... I have found a great source for aftermarket parts for the late model GM V8's.. Street & Performance @ www.hotrodlane.com and TPIS.com
  18. I had that car wrong. It is a Mercury Marauder. I saw the pic in the Autoweek mag with the Viper on the cover..
  19. Actually the General scrapped the Impala in order to make more trucks. I have seen that Ford has a special edition crown vic that is all black with the 4.6 modular motor sporting over 300hp and 350ftlb torque. I am not much of a Ford man, but the car looks damn good and it runs strong too.... That or a Ford Lightning would be a fun vehicle to drive... Myron
  20. I saw a nice one on TNN motorsports television this weekend. It had a souped up LT5 and it was a real screamer as well.. The show was about how Tim"tool time"Allen is working with performance gurus to have their own line of customized vehicles. the TAD line is to compete with the likes of AMG and some of the other aftermarket performance packages.. Myron
  21. A buddy of mine sent me this link... www.renegadehybrids.com Check it out... Myron
  22. I am doing the Lt1 swap as well and have been looking into cams from Street&Performance (http://www.hotrodlane.com) and Tuned Port Specialties (http://www.tpis.com).. both these guys can help you with cam selection computer programming and many other performance mods... Check them out Myron
  23. I am doing the LT1 swap as well.. check outthis sight, they have all the info and cool stuff that you can think of! www.hotrodlane.cc Myron
  24. I stripped the chassis down to just the suspension and windsheild... I also decided to go with the r230 diff. I took the torch to the back half and cut the spare tire well out. I was pretty suprised how easy it was to cut it out and have a nice surface to weld the box steel to... I will drop the suspension this week and try to get it on a rotisserre.. Myron
  25. I am guessing that motor to be in the 450hp range. My previous motor had close to the same cam and better flowing heads. If you could get good traction mid 7's in the 8th mile and high 11's in the 1/4 mile. I like the other guys would really like to see more on the R230 conversion... Myron
