  1. Is the surge under full boost? I had very simaler symptoms on the dyno last saturday and it turned out I was running enough boost to force the bov open. Evan
  2. HAHAHAHAH I have seen his photo several times and never noticed that.
  3. Looks like that thing could fall over if I farted too close to it.
  4. I had one, worked fine for setting mixture at idle. Problem is you have no idea whats going on higher in the RPM band when your driving. IMO, buy a wideband O2 sensor if you want to do it right. Evan
  5. Sweet baby jesus thats a beast. Looked like you were making some good progress! How much more time do you figure before you can fire it up the first time? Evan BTW. I have been following along on honda-tech for awhile, pretty wicked! Glad to see your over here, definitely less haters and know it alls.
  6. rontyler comes to mind, as far as cut firewalls go.
  7. Stony, I had the smaller intercooler on my car for 2.5 years and ran over 18psi on a regular basis. No problems. I just replaced it because I smashed it with a jack on accident. I crushed the bottom row and tube so I didn't trust it. Fit and finish was very good. I just installed the larger intercooler 31" wide or so. Once again, fit and finish looks pretty good. The fin density on the outside is not quite as high as the smaller unit surprisingly enough. Still, it works very well and I cannot justify 5x the price for a spearco etc.. when there is a chance Ill just smash it like I did the last one. FYI for everyone, I am now running a Forgemotorsports blow off valve and it works great. They are not flashy, and pretty basic looking. That said, the price is very reasonable. I paid 165 for mine with a tuning kit and recirculating capability (it was one of the mid/high priced units). They are not knockoffs, and I suggest them if you are not totally set on a tial bov. Thanks for the update Stony. Evan
  8. Would seem like no big deal to fabricate, just maybe take a little time. I love my TIAL btw, and would not replace it. Its dead reliable, and never had any problem with it over the last few years. Evan
  9. Wow, thats a generous offer! John, you guys are alright!! Evan
  10. Direct injection gas, not diesel. Very cool, doubt BMW would not think of heat barriers etc... Evan
  11. Not sure how I feel about the fenders, I think I will really like them finished. Everything looks great!
  12. Gabe, I was worried you wouldn't make it! glad to hear it started.
  13. Scotty, good idea taking your time. No sense in rushing anything. There is always next year! I have a zeitronix ZT-2 wideband. It works pretty well, but I don't have the dash display (wish I did). I have it connected to my laptop. Makes tuning a/f's cake. Evan
  14. Nice vids man, can't wait to see it in person at DNI. Evan
  15. Nice vids man, can't wait to see it in person at DNI. Evan
  16. Scotty, looking at my plots I was making 22psi right when boost came on then it fell to 19 the rest of the way. That may explain the tq vs hp number. I doubt Ill get back on the rollers for about another month. I am going to attempt to tune while I am in GA as well. IC plumbing is only 2.25" (which is the same as my turbo outlet). I will redo it in 2.5ss this summer hopefully. Evan BTW, after checking again I was running a few more degrees of timing than the stock map.
  17. Tony, no sweat. Thanks for the tip on the regulator. Ill just leave it wired up to the TPS wire since it seems more then one person thinks it would be okay. I have it grounded with my alky kit since the ecu is not actually using it, just the alky kit. Evan
  18. I ended up getting a forge-motorsports unit with the spring tuning kit (must have IMO). It works great! I would buy again for 156 with the spring kit on amazon from horsepower freaks. Evan
  19. Thanks Joel, your my hero. (only partially joking) I have not driven it far yet, I figured 1" was enough space? HAHA. Yeah, I need to wrap it for sure. Ill do a down and dirty shield for now. That jet hot coating keeps the heat WAY down underhood. I spent some cash on that coating and it was the right choice (thanks for the shove warren). The good news is that its downright cold outside, but I could see major problems come DNI. Evan
  20. My engine bay is super scratched up, check out the photos in the RB forum under 336hp 375tq (or whatever it says). Next time the motor comes out, its bedliner time. I work in there way to much to worry about nice paint. Everything is really stuffed in there. Evan
  21. Well, I thought I would toss up a couple pictures for you guys to see what I am working with. This is my 95' 240sx. ^for everyone that busted my balls about my small IC last year at SEZ!^ Later guys. Evan
  22. Odd indeed. I ended up grabbing my 5v off of the TPS and it seems to be working fine. I may go ahead and wire up a regulator though next time I have the dash apart. Ill check out the megasquirt thread. Thanks man - Evan
