  1. Very cool, I don't think I have ever seen the factory skid plate installed before. Evan
  2. Careless, thats EXACTLY what I wanted to know! Thanks dude. May I suggest lexan for the lid? It actually scratches easier but I have found it to be VERY resistant to breakage. Not sure how big the window is but sometimes you can get 3/8" plexi off ebay cheap that is leftover. Evan
  3. Wonderful time to be in GA, we were in cartersville when that happened. Then saturday evening a tornado touched down 3 miles from my GF's aunts house. We had just left that morning. Weather was BAAAD but we magically missed it. I am glad it seems that most everyone made it out safely. Evan
  4. I can picture a crane pulling out an amphicar from the boat landing after the weight oversight LOL. Evan
  5. The part in the first picture thats bolted onto the intake manifold is the one I totally removed. Motor will die on decel from high rpms on occasion but not enough to bother me honestly. I may put it back in, but you can definitely remove it for testing purposes. You will have to block the hoses off. The ACC or IAC, I don't remember what the FSM calls it, is whats in your hand in photo two. The plunger/springs contraption should move freely. You can unscrew the solenoid part from it and blast all the carbon out with brake kleen. Took me a bit to get mine working so it moved freely. Evan
  6. Was it an auto tranny before? Sounds like the auto tranny pilot is in your way. You must run a pilot bearing. Evan
  7. You think you can fix it? or is it doomed? I would consider one if its workable.
  8. I actually have an N95 respirator I use when cutting metal with a grinder. I hate that crap in my nose/mouth. Evan
  9. I had a very simaler problem. Do yourself a favor and take the IAC off of the manifold and clean it. Mine was so carboned up it was seized. Next, check the secondary valve thats under the intake manifold. It has a 1/2" hose running out either side and is supposed to slowly close as the motor warms up. Mine stopped working, so I took it off. Makes the car hard to drive when its cold (likes to die). Make sure you have power to your o2 sensor heater, that was my problem. I had the same symptoms and thats how I fixed it. Evan
  10. Awesome, your freind must have done a great job on the paint if its still the same from when you had it. Congratulations. Evan
  11. So if I were to use some other non silicate substrate I can assume the risk is dramatically less? I will be investing in a sandblasting cabinet at some point, as I hate getting really dirty from blasting. Evan
  12. I dream of black chrome trim! Dude, you have to do it. I wanted this about 10 years ago. You should do a set of wheels, that would be amazing! Evan
  13. I noticed a significant price drop in fuel as I drove south to DNI. It was nice, it helped make the trip a hair more affordable. I am not complaining, I have chosen my ride and love it too much to let it sit in the garage. I have considered buying a motorcycle a couple times, but don't think I wanna get hit by one of the local idiots. Lots of traffic here. Evan
  14. There are a TON of cyclists in Madison. There are people around here who are commuting to work on recumbant bikes with studded snow tires in 8" of snow. The good news? Because there are so many good riders, they have implemented a good bike path setup and everyone seems to be very courteous. I have considered buying a bike, but I live way to far from work to ride. It would just be more for riding around for fun, but I don't really have time right now. Evan
  15. LOL, box? CLASSY! I won't buy anything without a handle on it. Sounds really interesting though! Evan
  16. They said the lid may have gotten cracked by heavy equipment running over the top of it when they were doing an addition to the courthouse. Real shame IMO. Prowler is in a vault pumped full of argon thats not totally buried (lesson learned?) Evan
  17. I will second the thought that powder is the way to do it. Some trim is chrome, such as the trim at the bottom of the window on the top lip of the door.
  18. I have a zeitronix WB that "self calibrates" My sensor is a year and a half old now, and I am questioning its accuracy. Any thoughts here? I was on the dyno and my laptop said I was good in a/f but the one on the dyno said rich. My burning eyes agreed. Evan
  19. Only muffler on my setup was a dynomax race magnum. No muffler to stop the flames. I had to run it real rich to make it happen.
  20. My 240 used to do that when it was running rich and coasting down hill. Garrett was behind me in TN mountains at night, and I bumped the rich/lean knob on the sds to rich and it was popping fire out the tailpipe. I would imagine coasting down rich isn't the end of the world, but if your running rich under acceleration you are giving up ponies. Evan
  21. http://www.directindustry.com/prod/nord-lock-ab/self-locking-washer-20598-138527.html Very cool setup John, thought I would post a link so others would see what a wedge lock setup looks like.
  22. Thats common, my local welder won't weld anything on a car due to insurance regs. Have fun with the trailer.
  23. I used mine to pay off some credit card debt, granted I have nothing new to show for it but it makes me feel better Same thing with the stimulus package I am sure. Evan
  24. That is hilarious, I had to watch it all over again.
  25. Great post Jon, I see that a LOT on other forums.
