  1. Rocker arms are lying everywhere and your car randomly bursts into flames. Evan
  2. Dude that is awesome! Maybe Ill go this route, I wish those contraptions didn't have the goofy DSM flange on em! I can tell you, Ill be doing that to my buddys DSM. Evan
  3. The SS autochrome unit has me somewhat interested. Problem is, I have already had a knockoff BOV that leaked and caused problems. I don't wanna go there again. I have an HKS SSQV that I am almost 100% is a knockoff. Its so quiet you can't hear it. I don't mind it, I just don't trust it. I don't want a damn chirp! So annoying. Yeah, I am running blow through, it works fine. Map would be better of course. I am running a catch can and all that jazz. Thanks guys, maybe I just go ahead and try the Forge, then report back. Worst case scenario I loose a few bucks and we all know they suck! Evan
  4. I run a blow through setup with a maf, so thats not a concern. Thanks for the advice on the SS autochrome. The forge looks good because I have a gift certificate that will cover most of it. Thanks! - Evan
  5. Alright, Ill start this by saying I am a cheapskate. Screw paying 250 bucks for a valve that dumps air into the atmosphere! I don't much care about sound honestly. I am considering the Tial, but at 210 shipped its not cheap! But I never hear anything bad about them. Has anyone ever used a Forge motorsports BOV? they seem to be very popular in for the german car crews. Seems you can get shims and springs to make it vent when you want it to. They also have a sock like filter to keep debris out. My one hesitation is not knowing wether or not it will have enough flow to vent off all the air coming back. This is on an RB25DET with a t3/t04e. I expect low 400s for HP at the rear wheels. The inlet is about 1.5" from what I can see. The kicker is that its only 125 on amazon.com and I have a gift card from there that will drop the price to 70 bucks or so. http://www.amazon.com/Forge-Motorsport-FMDVF005-pol-Piston-Filter/dp/B000ED0BJS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1201906806&sr=8-1 Any thoughts? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? I know its a noobish question but I have trouble bringing myself to pony up big bucks for a part that seems to deeply involved in fashion! Thanks guys - Evan BTW, I have been running a blow through setup since I built this car, so don't worry about me having trouble there!
  6. Sorry fatmat didn't work out. Thanks for the review though! Evan
  7. Phil, Ill report back what I find. I have had 2 sets of venom injectors on my motor. First set idled TERRIBLE. I blamed everything except the injectors, I had a bad unit right out of the box. They were awesome about swapping the full set though. My current set is out at Deatchwerks getting flow tested to make sure they flow what they should. Ill let you know what happens. You don't wanna try putting down big HP when your injectors aren't all fully functional! Ill keep you updated. I mailed them two days ago. Evan
  8. That power wheels thing made me chuckle like a little kid. When I have kids, they WILL have badass power wheels.
  9. Looks great, I expect to see this car at DNI!! Evan
  10. ABS 240sx'es had a sensor in the nose of the rear end housing to sense lockup. Not sure if it would be of any use to you.. just letting you know. Evan
  11. Its not a Z, but full race has an AWD S14 240sx. Do a search on it. I think its called an R14. Maybe you can take some ideas from it. There are pictures on the web of the underside. It uses a skyline drivetrane. Evan
  12. Looks like they are very wide at 22" and sit pretty high up. Evan
  13. Derek, you can likely take apart your old door pin switch and use the plunger/housing and attach a better quality switch to the back. Basically using the "pin" that the door presses to actuate another switch. Evan BTW, a direct replacement is unlikely I would think. Removing that leaves a rather large hole.
  14. What kind of injectors. Normal is 42.5 line off.
  15. Dude, rent a U-haul for an across town trip. last time I did that it was less then 30 dollars. Will save you lots of time, and maybe you can borrow the hoist from the guy to unload it and bring it back to him Evan
  16. I had a crank shop extend the crank snout and machine/balance it. Cost was around 325. Your getting hosed at $500 to install a collar. Evan
  17. News flash, your an old fart LOL. I was just busting your chops, I am sure it looks great but I hate glare. Rally car drivers paint dashes flat black to absorb light. Definitely would like to see a painted z dash though! Evan
  18. Here is hoping someone smarter then me chimes in. My own personal observation, is that a $2500 rear end setup is serious overkill for a 400hp motor. If I were you I would swap an R200 in with a CV setup and an OBX LSD. I think you will be able to put down lots of power very reliably. Poke around the forums and find the Jn'J photo of thier car with the front wheels 6-7' in the air with an R-200. Its a very strong rear-end. EDIT; Here ya go. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129125 Evan
  19. I have axis reverbs on my 240sx, so I can say quality is pretty good. I think they would look good. Evan
  20. Glossy dash sounds like a terrible idea. That said, I wanna see it! Im sure it looks great. Evan
  21. Bob, you need more sleep. 2:30 am! Jeez I somewhat agree with what you are saying here. I have had a blow through setup for a couple years now. My main gripe is making sure air flow is not turbulent. It makes the car run TERRIBLE and puts you in a different part of the map. I saw this on my power FC. I am contemplating going back to a draw-thru setup. BUT I probabally won't since its already "done" this way. I can, however log my a/f's when I hit the track and reynolds so we can see what happens to my air fuel ratio when I lift off the throttle to shift at high boost. I can also cap the BOV opening off completely and see what happens (this will create surge obviously, but I am curious to see what happens to the air/fuel mix). Evan
  22. I forgot, I used SEM stuff years ago with great results. Thanks DavyZ! Evan
  23. Apparently it can only get better! Don't let the bad news get you down, there is always tomorrow. Evan
  24. Two thumbs up for a good seller. Thanks for the Alky kit Austin!!
