  1. Juan, just an FYI.. unless rules have changed you won't pass NHRA rules with braided line run all the way up.
  2. I think I am going to grab one of these. The amount of press work I have paid for in the last year would pay for this.
  3. ^ If your not looking to strip to bare metal, don't sodablast.
  4. Make sure you buy a good quality long handled 1/2" drive ratchet and half inch drive sockets. I use them a LOT for breaking bolts loose. You will find you break a lot fewer ratchets that way. I got a used Proto from the mac tools guy for $25 and that is a badass ratchet. Evan
  5. I was thinking "sweet!" until I saw the photo. Gross.
  6. Yeah, I was posting back in the day over there. Evan Purple240 was the name, zt came later LOL
  7. Sounds like a smaller throttle body or a different pulley that will allow more range is the real solution. I think learning to drive the car properly at higher boost levels is critical (no offense intended, honestly). I have a 90mm t/b on my RB25det and have no problem with it daily and a boost controller set to the mid 20s.
  8. Ill be pissed if you don't do a build thread on this!
  9. The going rate at this point is $20 a journal. Good deal IMHO and the cams will get shipped this week. Evan
  10. The lobes are perfectly fine, its the journals that are scratched (the bearing surface). I agree though, if the lobes were cashed the cams would be garbage for sure.
  11. I have an 02 WRX that spun a rod bearing (bought the car like that) and debris made it into the head and scratched the cam journals up and also did some damage to the heads. The heads are easy to replace, but may still be serviceable if I can get the cams repaired. Why not get new cams you say? Well turns out this engine has stage two brian crower cams and I would REALLY like to use them. What say you hybridz? I can get photos tonight of the damage. Evan
  12. Whoops, I didn't realize the second photo had the wiring all cleaned up and installed.
  13. That funnel thing looks great! I like the plug. I have a funnel that fits the radiator opening very well.. but leaks EVERYWHERE when I remove it.
  14. RB's (at least in S-chassis swaps) are very difficult to burp sometimes due to the pocket of air that gets hung up by the thermostat. I was doing some reading, and looking at the thermostat that fits my WRX and realized that they all include a tickler deal of sorts to ease air bleeding. Why don't the RB thermostats have this? Next time I do a thermostat installation, I am going to drill a small hole 1/8 or less to help get the air out of the system. Ill bet that helps quite a bit. I have read about folks doing this on the ford forums when I searched, but anyone tried it on an RB? Evan
  15. Nice work Gabe, Garrett texted me the good news! Congratulations. Great numbers and about what you estimated wasn't it?
