I am considering going to a smaller dual pass radiator that can fit in the opening of my radiator core support on my 240sx. My problem is that there is not enough room in the engine bay to fit everything comfortably. The radiator situated inside the core support (which will be modified) will solve lots of problems.
Now, I have been looking at radiators and I am very interested in using one of the C&R cores that are on ebay. They say they are Nascar radiators but I am not sure if that is 100% true. Regardless, I found a core that is only about 1.5" too tall to fit in the area where I need it. I have a good local fabricator who can solve that dilemma.
I know a dual pass of this size will effectively cool my engine. I have a dual row aluminum now and it keeps things cool. I just don't have enough space for a decent fan setup.
Now, the real question is... will a 4" core cause so much restriction that it will actually hurt my cooling on the street? I plan on running a shroud on the back with one large, or two smaller fans. I was considering the dual altima fan setup.
You guys offer any insight? I suspect 4" is too thick.
