  1. Tony D could always use another Z . I am sure someone in the LA area will take it off your hands versus letting it go to a wrecking yard.
  2. Remove one of your lock's and take it to a locksmith. The rear hatch comes out easiest. 2+2's are different in the back compaired to a coupe. They are a little bit wider. A coupe 3 piece will not fit a 2+2. I have both.
  3. "Where's a paladin or necromancer when you need one?" I think a cleric would be more appropriate.
  4. Quit posting stuff like this! It keeps me thinking of going NA with mine. My pistons have not been cut down for a lower compression yet. Right now I can get into the 10:1 CR range easily. I kind of equate it to doing an S20 DOHC swap with a more modern twist. Not many of the S20DOHC's were ever produced. Think of the fun you could have putting 432 badges on the side of your Z? 4 valves, 3 throttle bodies or carbs, and 2 cams.
  5. It startled her but not as much as one would think. She likes it. Who would have thought that?
  6. I have to go pick up the wife from work now. She will know something is up if I take the handi cam. Darn, I know she will hit the roof if I leave it by the door!
  7. This thing is nearly 7ft tall! My wife has not seen it yet. She gets home in an hour. Any one think I might have a problem keeping it in the living room?
  8. Fill out the waiver and put it on ebay. No one really cares. I bought a surgical laser a few years ago and nothing was said about me being a physician. I am not by the way. There is so much specialized stuff out there. It is diffucult to find information about it. Chances are it is considered obsolete since the manufacturers date on it is 05/94. Your cell phone cameras have better resolution.
  9. This is not the first time the ad was placed on craigslist. I called and talked to him about the front clip. At the time he was not interested in letting it go for a few hundred. I was even a little more generous than that. It seemed like he thought it had more value than the one for $1250. And Tony, not a problem! Any time you need a break from the wife, let me know. I 'm sure I can come up with something.
  10. How about getting this one? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/581188443.html It is actually located in Oregon. Might make a good road trip to pick it up. Registration in California would not be to difficult. It would have to conform to the good ole emissions standards for the 79~83 280ZX's.
  11. 3D is fun but very time consuming. My avitar is from a model I made in Softimage XSI version 1.5. Good luck with the contest.
  12. Cool! Nice to know there are others willing to strip down a 2+2 for a ground up build. I like your rotisserie better than my improvised setup. http://www.fairladyzg.com/bodywork-01.htm
  13. How about Just Dashes in Van Nuys? http://www.justdashes.com/Index.htm
  14. Put down some of that anti fatigue rubber matting. It will save your tiles just in case.
  15. Put a piece of plywood over them with a table cloth. No one will ever know!
  16. There is a clip holding the lock cylinder in. Roll the window up and contort your hand in with a pair of needle nose. I think you can also get at it with a long flat tip screw driver. There is also a kotter pin at the back of the lock. Be carefull with the pin and the clip. The door likes to swallow them up when you drop it! Right click on this link and save as http://www.fairladyzg.com/PDF/1977%20280Z%20Service%20Manual.pdf This is a pdf format of the 1977 280Z Factory Service Manual. Go to page 485. Illustrations are not the greatest but it should give you an idea of what it all looks like in there.
  17. No credit mention for the true artist? Jack did more than just add body panels. There is a lot of atristic creation there.
  18. How about the front grill, power windows, and tail lights?
  19. The interior work is impressive. The dash is covered with leather. The 2006 West Coast Nationals is where I saw it.
  20. I quess the guy with the 2+2 decided against parting it out.
  21. PnP type places like to set their wheel stands right under the fuel tanks.
  22. Here is a rough one in Wisconson on ebay. I have seen this one listed a few times already. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/75-Nissan-Fairlady-Z-Right-hand-drive-from-tokyo_W0QQitemZ120217981140QQihZ002QQcategoryZ6783QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  23. Maybe the ebay user name datsun-parts is sending them to Japan for a quick profit.
  24. Here are some of the links I use. Type in S30 in the search box. Nissan body parts http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084016812-category.html Clutch / Transmission http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084016970-category-leaf.html Computers / Electronics http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084017028-category-leaf.html Engine Parts (I usually type in RB2 looking for RB parts) http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084016830-category.html Interior Parts http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084064603-category-leaf.html Looks like as of today the exchange rate is around 106 Yen per 1 USD.
