  1. To save some hassles, verify the VIN stamped on the firewall next to the brake booster matches the one on the dash and the one on the drivers side door plate. Take the VIN number to DMV, they can check if it is in the system. If it is not in the system, the pocess gets a little easier. DMV will want to see the car for VIN verification. I am out the door right now. Send me a PM.
  2. Just got this one a few days ago from DD's Discounts in Sacramento. It is made by Jada Toys. It will make a great gag gift for my father. He always liked the split window. http://www.jadatoys.com/home.php
  3. Just measured two sets of stock 440cc RB26 injectors and two sets of stock 270cc(?) RB20 injectors. Stock RB26 440cc injectors measured a near consistant 1.7 ohms Stock RB20 270cc(?) injectors measured a near consistant 13.4 ohms The difference between a Radio Shack resistor rated at 6 watts vs. 10 watts is its heat dissipation. More wattage rating = better heat dissipation.
  4. Guess I'll be keeping the AM radio and face plate out of the 70 240Z part car for a while. Makes a great conversation piece.
  5. In another thread people were mentioning Z sellers on Crack. How about this for some crazy buyers? 240Z Radio face plate winning bid...$76.83 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170174694664&rd=1 240Z Radio knobs wining bid...$43.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170174695786&rd=1
  6. Not so fast on the changes. Do not forget I have measured the resistance on a stock RB26 resistor pack to be 6 Ohms.
  7. You also need the Clutch/brake pedal assembly, the bracket on the fire wall, The accelerator pedal, heater/AC blower motor housing, wiper motor assembly, cowl cover, turn signal/light switch assembly, cover pieces for steering column, wireing harness, and the battery tray. Those are parts I know for sure are different.
  8. Yes, they are the same. I do not understand the "Space Saver" tire concept in the 280Z's. Looks like alot of wasted space. I looked under the fiberboard on my 78 coupe and the tool box spaces are there less the covers. What a waste of space.
  9. Interesting to note the 78 Fairlady Z's have full sized spare tire wells. They do not have the raised fiberboard floor pieces.
  10. So you are collecting Fairlady Z parts as well. There are quite a few unique parts on them. Did the 76 have power windows to? Seems one can never have to much.
  11. To bad it is on the East Coast. Almost looks like the twin to mine. But mine did not have anywhere near that much rust. Damn! I'm glad its there or it would probably be in my driveway!
  12. Here is a quick read for you. Scroll down to Third The clutch and flywheel. http://www.zhome.com/rnt/L28conversion/engine.html
  13. Did you take the flywheel off the 2+2 as well?
  14. Try driving around. By that I mean go off the main roads. If mainland is like Okinawa, you will find them all over the place. Look for cars stacked 2 plus high. Some of the best deals can be found by finding the literal "Hole in the Wall" places. Keep an eye on repair shops. Some times you will see a car sitting for a long time. It does not hurt to ask about it.
  15. ebay is useless for that. In this thread, http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=126542 Corzette talks about getting his Hakosuka Skyline. In the image below, look at the price for the R30 Skyline. It is 890,000 Yen (About $8090). These were produced from 1981 ~ 1984? A 10 years ago it would be worth a fraction of that.
  16. Here is a list of some small unique things about Fairlady Z's. The hood latch and release cable is backward compared to LHD Z's. Passenger side foot rest Turn signal / headlight switch assembly Steering column cover Parking light switch in center console (separate circuit for parking lights) Fuze cover plastic piece (Writen in Japanese) ECU cover piece (Has holders for a flare)
  17. When Corzette's post about his Hakosuka showed up, I looked at the prices of other cars on the lot. Seems in Japan the cars go on a high-low-high price ride. After 25 years their prices went up. Right now the R32's are in the low spot. In another 10 years I would bet the price will be higher for the GTR.
  18. My 78 280Z has a simular rust problem as yours. Funny how my 78 Fairlady Z had the rust problem on the other side.
  19. This is the second time this seller has offered a set of used covers. On the first set there were no bids till the last few minutes. Someone sniped them for like $550.00.
  20. Thanks for taking it and putting it to good use! As you could see I have entirely to much stuff. I hate to throw away usable parts even though I will not be using them. Yes, you got it right, it is a GS31 series.
  21. I have a complete setup you could have as well. California is further than Tennesse though.
  22. Nice what you already have but I guess you can never have enough power eh? There are two RB 3L options. The OS Giken kit or the Australian RB30 block. Careless has compiled alot of RB30 info. Here is 288 pages on Skylines Australia about the RB30DOHC conversion. Takes a while to get by all the chit chat though. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R33-RB30-Conversion-t15420.html
