  1. My buddy is looking to sell his R200 Torsen Gleason LSD carrier that he bought new, never installed it and has been sitting in his stash of parts for quite a long time. From what I hear, they are the most expensive LSDs out there, more than the Quaiffe. ($1500-1800?) It is an interesting unit....with all those gears in there!
  2. Well, I took the glass (rear hatch, quarter windows & door) to the tint shop today, so I should be getting them back shortly. I got the new A/C bracket from John @ JCI the other day and installed it. Sure is a nice piece! (just like all his stuff!) More soon!
  3. With all this talk of Volkswagens......my buddy just picked up his Porsche that he custom ordered 2 years ago & arrive in Spokane, WA this week! I'm thinking with a twin turbo, AWD, 700 HP convertible that does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, I'm thinking that it doesn't qualify for the mileage you are looking for, right? I guess the $200k price tag would disqualify it for all of us, anyway. (Sorry! Couldn't resist)
  4. Black is the graphite version and only comes that way, as far as I know or have seen.
  5. I'm pretty sure this is still the case, but the black poly bushings are graphite impregnated and wear better than the colored versions. I went black this go around and the red ones I took out looked pretty worn after only 20k miles or so on them. Just my 2 cents.
  6. Correct. It was still a tight fit, as I had to hammer it in place. It's not going to move and with everything bolted in place, it couldn't move, anyway. The sleeve was really tight fit and the bushings had absolutely no slop and had to push it into the new sleeve. It worked out perfectly. Hope that helps.
  7. I used a plasma cutter and made a very precise cut and then installed the thick walled tubing, made sure that all the contact areas were flush and welded it all the way around. It bolted right back into place without an problems. With the rear suspension removed, I jacked up the car several times by that crossmember with no deflection at all. Don't see any possible issues with it.
  8. Funny! I just dealt with this last week. The bar I just put in my car came out of another Z and had poly bushings and was missing the sleeves. I went down to the exhaust shop and got a small section of 2" pipe. I then cut 2 sections at 1.5" long and cut a split long ways down the pipe. I then just tapped it in with a hammer, slid the new poly bushings in and good as new.
  9. Well, that sounds like he just made an additional ground because there was an issue with the system already. You may have to run a new wire for the headlight ground to fix it right.
  10. More times than not, it's usually a bad ground. Clean the fuse connections and check all the grounds. That's typically the problem. Hope that helps.
  11. Well, I finally got the rear suspension in, although I'm still waiting for the CV adapters from Ross, then I can put the axles & rear sway bar in place. This is the first time it has sat on the ground with the new stuff on it. Of course, with out the glass, interior, fuel, hood and all the other stuff, it is sitting a little high, so it looks kinda 4x4 to me. Anyway, I'm getting closer and now just need to keep on it. Any feedback is appreciated. I'm sure there will be plenty of fine tuning and even changes down the road, but I just want to get the thing driving and I'll play with stuff later. Oh, I know that I don't have enough rear tire on it, but these are just the "interim" wheels & tires until I can work on cramming the widest thing under it.
