  1. Yes, if in doubt, call them and they will explain but you must burn them out and leave the sleeve or you may not get them back in.

    From the album: Misc.

  3. Nice but if they go over $200.00 I would consider straightening.
  4. Pull the forks and take to a reputable bike shop to true them back up (they can be straightened to 98-99% true... you can't tell); no need to replace... speaking from experience. Much cheaper than replacing! [Edit:] In my case, a friend was test riding my bike for sale and ran head-on into a parked car... bent both forks in the middle down at about a 30 degree angle. The forks were re-trued to 98% left and 99% right--couldn't tell and looked new again. Rode it for years after including hi-speed with no issues before I finally sold it.
  5. What did I do? Seriously, I had to accept close to that many times last couple days. Just thought it was new policy to give folks more time to think about what they're going to post--kinda like when you buy a firearm (legally).
  6. This is what I found: Posted by fhptom (5/6/07) I earmarked those vents when they were on ebay. seller was "grndfx" You can try emailing the seller direct @ grndfx@pacbell.net but that was a couple years ago... he is a HybridZ member 'grndfx' ---------------- http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121612&page=3 IMO they're worth the ~$100. I paid but also saw someone fab they're own look-a-like (without the 'spoiler' effect): Good luck!!
  7. That sucks man. Well just drop me a line if you come up with anything about the club. I'll help in any way I can.

  8. My wife will be looking for you.

  9. Sounds like the seller was firm and not open to bartering; you made a sound decision and should commend yourself for it. I searched for 8 mos before I found my Z; some folks are just too proud of what they think they have. 'Good things come to those who wait'! You'll find the right car if you take your time and supress your emotions when you see a 'pretty' car and be sure to look it over real good (as you did).
  10. Do you know if the blower will clear the strut bar or do you not have one? Also, what do I need to run your timer set up? I had a Fiat that the electronic cooling fans would kick on after the engine was shut off and only run for a few minutes then shut off.
  11. That's what I did, purchased the 'ChromeIntakes' version (~$45.) off eBay and I'm quite pleased with it! FREE if you sell your old stock intake since they go for ~the same price.

    S30 hood vents

Another member had them that they never used and sold them to me. Here's the thread that started the discussion/source: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121612
  13. Not a mechanic but speaking from experience w/ my GMC Sierra, replace the MAF first and reset the computer. I did it backwards and replaced the sensors under the intake ($500.) and that didn't fix the the problem, but I got new sensors now... DOH! : /
  14. I signed up for the free copy in hopes to receive the Datsun issue but the annual subscription is only $19.95... you say thats high? I presume it's a full 12-month publication so that's less than two bucks an issue. Go price your typical tuners mag... $6. (USD) <
  15. I didn't hesitate dropping $7K for my `77 ride: http://forums.hybridz.org/album.php?albumid=1 to give you an idea of the condition w/ 131K+ miles. Maybe I paid too much, maybe not. If you intend to put it on a lift to check the underside, be sure whoever does it knows what they're doing as I had a garage lift my car by the frame rails just to balance/rotate the tires... BIG mistake as it crushed the rails. You have to lift the car by the jack points (unibody) or be sure they get under the Diff and cross-members. It sounds like a fair and reasonable price to me if it's in the condition the seller states and the paint is good and shines up. Don't expect to find a rust-free 30+ year old car. I'm sure even the $10-15K Z cars on eBay have some (minimal) rust. Good luck!
  16. Soon to be my next project, thanks for the heads up!
  17. I purchased mine from MSA but they've been on B/O since April; which is fine, but it's holding up the rest of my order as they won't ship until they fill the entire order. Be advised, you have to ship them a pair of lids (core) for the fabbed ones or it's a $300. non-refundable deposit (OUCH!). I only saw one pair of lids last night on eBay for $25. BIN + shipping if you were going to fab your own (or need MSA cores).
  18. I purchased one of these blowers last night off eBay for $30. shipped; I never knew about them but understand they were installed on 82-83 S130s. There are a couple left for sale... search "280ZX intake cooling fan". We'll see if it was worth the investment but I'm concerned my strut bar will be in the way of installation. The new hood vents I installed (http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=148739) seem to help disipate the heat better and helped a little but I still have the heat soak problem.
  19. Going off the above (Aug 08) statement...
  20. Thanks again having them for sale! I thought I'd never find them; right place/right time I guess. VERY satisfied!! Hopefully, MSA will offer again in the future for those that want them.
  21. Found them! Another member had them for sale.
  22. I couldn't find Bosch 4s for the Z; they're the best plug I've used in my wife's Corolla and my Nissan Hardbody. Both the Corolla and truck had a slight miss w/ copper and Bosch 2s, the Bosch 4s smoothed it out. I guess it's a matter of preference but I do notice a difference in types of plugs; by far, iridium are best and preferred in my book. I've never 'measured' the performance difference; I don't have to or really desire to as it's that noticeable to me. Just my two cents, that's all.
  23. These are really nice vents--excellent fitment--I'm quite pleased with them.
