I wetsanded the primer with 400. Do I add more paint during the clear or the base or both? I didnt really understand that I was supposed to soak the stuff in paint until I was clear coating. Planning on the hood and flares today, gonna try using more base.

Healthy dose of orange peel but whatever. Lessons learned: 1) Dont paint barefoot when shooting clear. 2) Dont mix the base and the reducer in plastic cups. 3) Dont get greedy with flake. 4) Blotchy primer sucks. Thanks for the help guys.

Nozzle size is .054'' I'm not reducing the primer at all, the can(omni) just said 2 parts paint, 1 part hardener.

Practicing on my lip right now and am currently trying to primer it. I'm using an epoxy primer with an hvlp gun. What is happening is that I'm getting a thin layer of paint, but im also getting scattered little droplets of paint. I've tried different ranges of psi from 10 to 50, if I screw in the needle I get smaller droplets, if I unscrew the needle I get larger droplets. Advise? Should the paint being sprayed be the thin layered stuff or should it be the thickness of the droplets? Thanks.

Well, the person that was going to help me fell through so I thought I'd ask here. This will be my 3rdish attempt at a paintjob and I've botched them all basically(non glossy, very gritty, if I spend like 100 hours wetsanding and buffing I could probally get 100$ maaco results). I know what I'm supposed to do(what psi, what grit to sand at what stage, etc.) but I can never get the gun to work like it seems it should. I dont know if its because I buy 50$ harbour freight guns or what but it seems I cant get wide arc of paint out of the gun, I only get what looks like comes out of a can of spraypaint. Was just wondering if there is any talent near me before I add a 4th to my list of my screwed up paintjobs. Thanks.

The angles and lengths on the runners to get 3 into 1 throttle body would suck allot and wouldnt be that efficient, plus I dont know if a bike's diameter throttle body would be big enough. Whats wrong with buying 2 sets of ITBs and using 6?

Wouldnt that defeat the point of ITBs? Also seems like youd have a tuning nightmare with the outer injectors and that they wouldnt be seeing as much air flow as the ones with 1 throttle body. If you can get them for cheap off ebay might as well get 2 sets of 4 and chop them up. If you got fab skills and tools that seems like the best route. For the carb triples where would you weld up the bungs for the injectors? If you do it in the stock location you could just get one of those 90$ fuel rails on ebay.

That first one is the best I've seen of your concepts, I psuedo remember your old ones. The first one looks like it could realistically be pulled off, the second one and your other ones would need like 27'' rear wheels etc.

Dont really know anything about carbed turbo setups, but shouldnt the jpipe connect to where the airfilter is? And wouldnt that be a draw through setup?

There was a video of a nice lowered bug with flares drifting around about 2 years ago. You could ask nicely in a bug forum for someone to drag that video up if it still exists.

If you get the heavier ones those should beefy enough for daily use.
