  1. Yeah the rear bars shoudl not extended past the rear wheel wells. although its too late now, im sure itll still pass tech but next time brace the cage to the strut towers. you can still run a bar from the main hoop to the front of the strut towers for some rigidity increase.
  2. Ok I am having problems with my r32 GTr r200 diff. when i tighten the pinion flange nut the diff binds up slightly. i understand r200s do not use a crush spacer, and use shims instead. Every other r200 I tried does not bind up like mine. I am worried the pinion bearing will fail with it binding like that. Now the only thing I can think of is someone rebuilt the diff, did not shim the pinion bearing propreley, and didnt fully tighten the pinion flange nut to compensate. Question is this: Can I run some loctite red on the flange nut and tightwen it until the bearing beings to load up and run it like this?
  3. yeah I can post pics. As for half shafts yeah they will need to be custom. I just turned mine on a lathe today out of 4140.
  4. Hey guys, I just finished up my Skyline R32 GTr diff install. This diff uses 6 bolt cvs like 300zx tt ones. Installation of this diff is very straightforward. Redrilling of the mustache bar, a front diff mount, and trimmed or custom rear brace to clear the finned cover. One of the main problems though is the GTR also uses a CV instead of a driveshaft, so the input flange on the pinion is a bit weird. I took a input flange from a S13 R200 open diff (plent of them around), did some minor machining to it, and used the original r32 gtr dust cover, and it bolts right in! All you need is a custom driveshaft using a s13 driveshaft end. So there you have it, if you can find a gtr parts car, grab the diff and find yourself 4 cvs (300zx 6 bolt ones are the same i believe) And you will have the start to a very nice project and a killer diff with 4.11 and clsd that can take ALOT of power.

  6. Interesting. I put an input flange from a 240sx r200 onto my r32 gtr r200. Everythign visually looked the same as far as seal/bearing surfaces. When I put it on and tightened with impact, the diff locked up. At first I thought its because it needs to be torqued but now im thinking the flange is bottoming out on the seal. Will have to take both flanges to a height guage and see whats up.
  7. thanks, yah i cant wait to hear it spool. i started it to idle with no mafs and o2, and revved it to 3k, it built a little bit of positive pressure. I have a feeling its going to kick in hard!

  9. Well here it is: Rb26dett with a fully custom gt3582r. Hoping for 400whp, then 500+whp once I get an oil pump, oil cooler, and clutch, welding was done by sdubfid and all fab by me by sounds great! Just waiting for the Djetro to get here and need to make some custom axles for the r32 gtr diff. then paint and dyno tune!

  15. I never thought the profile of the rb/l series pans to be the same. You may end up with some nasty fitup.
  16. I am running a RCI 15 gallon with the stock fuel sender mounted into it.
  17. I plan on installing either s13 or skyline gts coilovers onto my car. The skyline gts coilovers look like they will work lengthwise and have steel lower threaded mounts on all 4s. Also, I will be using the monoball on all 4 shocks with camber plates up front. Will need to make new spring perches and plasma cut a camber plate. I will post up pics once im working on this. Your car look great! makes me have second thoughts about selling my XXR513s
  18. this will be a street car that sees the dragstrip on occasion. the rollbar must be nhra legal, and chassis stiffening is a must too tubing bender is jd squared mild steel i will take some more clear photos next time at the shop for more clarification
  19. Opinions and suggestions/criticism GREATLY appreciated as everything is TACK welded together right now and much easier to change now then after paint/welding. Guys who have built nhra spec bars please do chime in. Everything is .120 wall dom, all platesd are 6x6 1/8 thick excuse the crappy photos i havent started on the door bars yet.

  22. Im sorry I dont understand your language. No one can convince me that your car is as fast as a car that can trap 10mph more than yours in a 1/4 mile. A car that traps 10mph more than yours in a 1/4 mile is FASTER than you, I dont CARE what it runs in the 1/4 mile or what you run, I am talking about racing on the highway, from a 80mph roll, to 140mph. You will get walked on. As far as 4.11 introducing wheelspin, I am having wheelspin issues due to the fact I am running a OPEN r200 with worn street tires. I would obviously run radials and the 4.11 woudl have an LSD. I think I mentioned this a few times already. Off I go to install my 4.11 and watch my times get better
