  2. I don't know much about this but I am pretty sure that some run a low pressure pump and a high pressure pump. My Z which I bought with a V* already in it had a mechanical pump and a external electric pump!! I neverknew why and never used it as it was on a switch.
  3. Did you remove the rod that runs to the actual ignition switch though? The switch that is on the backside of the column? EDIT: Ahh.. I see now. I thought the only switch you had was the one covered by the red plastic hood. I see now that the key ignition switch is on the dash...Very cool!!
  4. Looks awesome Tim. You may want to consider one of those tilt steering colum guards to keep someone from easily stealing your ride. Unless you have something eles taking care of that. I know when my truck got robbed it was because of the weak point in the colum that is easily opened up like a soft shell crab, exposing the soft underbelly... and ignition rod..... I looked but could not find a link to what I am talking about. Rufus
  5. Black Primer..I love it!!! I have heard you can seal it somehow so the rain will not leave it spotty. Know anything about that? loooks Great BTW!! Rufus
  6. Fire does funny things to people. Makes them freeze in their tracks. He was probably never trained, or if he was it was minimal. He was obviously just scared. Hopefully he will do better next time, if not they should appoint someone eles. Preferably someone in the proper gear, not a satin jacket and sneakers!!!
  7. Finally!!! A cure for the millions of posts about "HOW CAN I GET RID OF FUMES IN MY CAR?"!!! PS Are those tires even attached to the oversized rims?
  8. Cyrus' post is quite helpful for those like me that have little to no experience with turbo motors but are toying with the idea of installing one. In other words the general statements have merit especially when you know that he is not just whipping it out, but instead has built and driven both types of drivetrains. His post combined with Mr. Kelly's first responce make this thread useful. The debating is poinless as Cyrus (although he doesn't say it) is obviously speaking of his motor and not all Supra's, turbo's, octanes or whatever.....Rufus
  9. Although I don't pray I do believe in miricales / blessings. They came in the form of twin boys that changed my life. I sincerly wish you and your wife the best. Like someone eles said, " It will happen!!" Rufus
  10. Tim, Let us know the hours / cost to make this yourself please. I am getting ready to build mine and was weighing fabbing it myself, or farming it to my local machine shop. Thanks! Rufus
  11. Something I thought was interesting was that the explosion was so faint. Perhaps it was because it was confined to the inside of the intake, but it meerly sounded like a firecracker. I don't see how insurance could possibly cover that unless the individual simply lied to the carrier. He most likely removed the NOS system and said "I dunno, it just caught fire!!!"
  12. Wow!!! Too bad the *insert favorite adverb* kids shooting the video ruined it with their idiotic blabbering. The driver sure got out quick!!!
  13. Thanks man...for some reason I did not get a notification of this thread being updated. I am glad I checked my subscribed threads!! Do you have something behind the glass that helps it pop open? Like a spring or something? Rufus
  14. From my understanding Pro E is one of the only solid modeling tools that allows interferance / tolerance numbers to be checked on moving parts. I have never used it but this is what I had heard from a fellow engineer. Good luck with the new job!! Rufus
  15. Gotcha...you will pick up a good 1.5 inches in width with those flares if you remove the lip though....
  16. Zad, In order to use a wider tire all you will need to do is trim off the original fender lip. Trim both the inner and outer fender wall and weld them together at the highest point. If you leave the inner fenderwall a little longer you can fillet it and bend it out and over the outer fender for welding. Here is a pic of what mine looked like before I tore it apart to do something different. The tape is metal repair tape which I was going to use to keep the crud out. IfI did it over i would cut metal to fill inthe spots that are missing after filleting the inner fender wall. Rufus
