  1. Thanks. I had actually found those same cars in my searching yesterday. I should have posted them here, any cars I found from now on I will add here. I think the orange car looks good but the read cars wheels look to protrude too far, which is odd as they are the same wheel just 16 vs 15, so the 15's must give the illusion of the being further out. Here are some photos of Watanabe F8, 16x8 and 16x8.5, offset unknown. I don't think they look bad, but they haven't got a touch on R-Types and I think my Rota RBR's look nicer.
  2. Absolutely, if I use the F8 type in size 16x8.5 ET15. This will only work on aftermarket adjustable type coilovers, it will not work with stock size struts. It will bring the rim pretty close to the body of the coilover. If I were to go to 17's this gives me even more room to work with as the rim moves further up the coil over whihc is angled away therefore giving more clearance. But I don't like the look of 17's. Thanks. That comes well out past the fender edge. No way you could run that with 225's. That is 22.5mm further outwards than my current wheel and 12.5mm further out than the ET0 8" R-types would be. Good for reference though. I am hoping someone running F8's will post some photos.
  3. Thanks, nice car there, and nice wheels. Having a look at those links I'd say the r-types are really on the edge of what I consider to look good regarding how far they protrude from the arches. The difference with the F8's is that they come in a wide range of offsets, the r-type is limited to only ET0. I am just not sure I like how the F8's look, but without some photos of S30's wearing F8's in a size close to what I am after its hard to decide. One benifit of the F8's is that I could run 8.5" on the rear which is better if I want to run 245s.
  4. I am considering Watanabe wheels but need to see some fitments to get an idea. Can anyone running Watanabe's post some photos of their S30 with them on and list size and specs. I am primarily looking for cars with no flares and trying to decide beetween F8's which I know will fit and R-Type which might not fit as well but look nicer imo. Lets post photos all types of Watanabes for a good reference for anyone trying to decide what to run.
  5. Also need to know. I know the wider r-types clear them with only a 5mm spacer so I would hope it should be the same on the 8".
  6. I am considering getting a half cage made for the 260Z. Mainly to stiffen up the shell, provide an attachment point for the odd time I would want a harness and also to add some safety in the event of an accident. Has anyone here got experience running a cage? Do you see a noticeable difference in chassis rigidity? Problems with insurance? I imagine a decent half cage would add at least 30kg which is not so desirable. I am thinking something along the lines of these (only without the front half on those that are full cages)
  7. How heavy is the X-Mat? I'm hoping to not add too much weight.
  8. Epic build, look forward to some more photos and definitely a video hen you get a chance.
  9. Would love something similar, but I don't want to run bigger than 16" wheels. Perhaps I can make an AP Racing kit but in a smaller size. I would love to see some more videos of her in action once you get it all back together.
  10. Can't imagine you could use more power anyway, better going with the better spool. Its a beast either way.
  11. My Restored Bonnet turned up today, thanks to Datsmo for helping supply it. I went for the full carbon fibre bonnet with carbon fibre frame. Its very nice and should save a fair amount. I'll weigh my stock one when I get a chance but its got to be around the 17kg mark so I will save over 10kg's even once its painted as carbon one only weighs 5.75kg (12.6lbs)
  12. Think theres plenty of interest if he decides to do another run.
  13. Great news, those looks lovely. Would be nice to go dry sump at some time, would just have to work out a good location for the tank.
  14. Might be interested in one in the future, don't loose the cnc file.
  15. Glad to see you are noticing a good improvement with the LSD, I couldn't wait to get one fitted to mine as even when it was in stock form I would get some loss of power in the corners due to the inside wheel spinning, wasn't so noticeable once I had new suspension, wheels and so on fitted but would undoubtedly have still ben there if pushed hard enough.
  16. Will have to get mine on track sometime, looks like a lot of fun.
  17. Will be great to see this thing on track, good luck, take some videos for us.
  18. Sounds beastly and looks like a lot of fun.
  19. AZC never reply to e-mail questions, but I will call them before ordering anything. Definitely don't want cv clearance problems.
  20. Thats what the washer are for, they allow you to move the wheel forward or backwards in the well depending on where you want it, I moved mine back a bit over stock.
  21. Thanks for the link, I'll check that out. So, it seems that any kit for a Z that is sold as a rear mount should fit the AZC setup? That might be possible, as long as it won't make the bar hang too low and risk catching, I'll need to have a closer look and see what I can work out. Would certainly be better option as the rear mount bars also looks very lose to the CV shafts on any builds I've seen.
  22. I like how it handles on the stock bars, I don't like to run thick bars on most of my cars. Just preference. I don't want to increase tendency to oversteer and my cars roll is fine with the stock one, adding a stiffer one could mess up how I have it setup to handle.
  23. I'm looking to run the AZC Moustache Bar and Dog legs so I can run a rear mount sway bar in order to remove my current stock mount bar so I can extend my frame rails. I'm just checking what sway bar options I have? I don't really want to run a thicker bar than stock so which bar is the best?
