  1. you really have to do a number on something to total out a 120k car... can you say, "AMTRAK???"
  2. actually...i was looking at new products the other day. in response to the laughing gas backlash nitrous oxide systems designed a stealth system that looks just like a juvenile iguana. shame it's only a 5-shot... very nice work and that first drive had to feel good! as for the big-block thing... from this day forward just tell everyone you destroked a 396 for a few extra revs... you can practice the facetious straight face in your nearest mirror!
  3. all along, i've toyed with the theory that anyone with legitimate personal convictions that back up their apathy in the voting booth shouldn't forget the fact that they have just as much of a right to put themselves on some ballot, somewhere. if enough people of actual integrity are able to inspire followership, a difference has been made.
  4. mike... i hear everything you're saying. voting for the lesser of two evils in two staright elections ( oh, he can't be as bad as...) has begun to wear on my confidence in democracy, ours as flawed as it is. what is a democracy when the final say in an election is taken out of the hands of the people? sure what we have here beats a dictatorship by a longshot. we can all thank whomever or whatever we choose to thank that we don't live in a situation like iraq, cuba, etc... but we are in no way, shape or form what our founding fathers set out to create. and, yes, what we need is a man of the people, but the biggest killer of it all is that we need an ENTIRE GOVERNMENT of the people... the system of checks and balances would intervene and interrupt any or most of this idyllic leader's initiatives that might upset what years upon years of big brother politics have built up. unfortunately, a big enough hole has been dug that no one election could repair the damage. we need the kind of men mike spoke about at every layer of the political system... men and women who understand what it's like to work and raise a family in the america that's left for the 90 percent. men of integrity who care about real, everyday life... and how the richest country in the world could use it's resources to make that life better for each and every one of us. but like i said, it has to start at the bottom and work it's way up, and that will never happen overnight. so who am i voting for? not bush, his bravado has alienated us from way too much of the world community, while leaving domestic issues that you and i feel everyday on the back burner. i support our men and women and in many cases still children of the military with the deepest part of my soul but i can't help but think of where america might be if the money bush has spent on the war on terror was put into domestic programs... schools, health care, damn how many doctor visits could be paid for with the cost of ONE MISSILE? think about it... i'm glad to know i'm not the only one out there that's a bit jaded. too bad those in charge see it so differently. bob
  5. tim's next project... six-story parking garage!!!
  6. seeing the legendary blueovalz in paint is well worth wearing a jacket all year!

  14. well... i once sat at a stop sign for 20 minutes... and the worst part was i started getting pissed at it!!! the bastard just wouldn't turn green... i agree with driving stoned not being such a big deal. i drove safer that way and paid MUCH more attention.but i gave up when every other driver on the road wasn't only a cop, but they knew i was high too... so now i just smoke at home!!!!
  15. i don't know how i managed to miss this thread. i've been there too, man. i lost my father and brother within a year of each other (i was 10-11) and now my mother has 30% of her lungs left. i've been trying to get myself to do a better job of facing that last fact, because i'm still pretty much in denial of the whole thing and a big part of me knows that it's going to nail me if i don't start to deal with it. sad part of it is, when my dad died, he withered away from cancer and even as young as i was, i came to understand that him being alive wasn't living at all. so why am i where i am now? i guess it's probably because i've already lost one parent and i don't want to face another one going. i don't know... even being married with a kid and another one coming, you get scared about the idea of a world without your mom and dad. back to you man... we talk enough on aim that you know i'm always here. it isn't easy, but it gets better when you've got some people around you who care. s&&& man, i might be the one calling on any of you guys soon. just the fact that all of you guys have been able to share all of this with the rest of us on here shows what i already knew... this is way more tha a message board, it really is like a family. for people, 90% of which have never met face toface to reach out to each other and share some really deep parts of themselves is amazing. and to think, i started coming here to talk about cars...
  16. there's the best advice i've heard so far. i had a 78 280 as my first, it was stock pretty much, but god i drove that thing like a maniac. i could handle it... but... i seldom exercised good judgment with the fun pedal. any more power and i likely would have gotten in some real trouble and nearly did a few times. a 17 year old kid is not the right person to buy that car, if he wants something fast let him get used to driving first. yup, whip mommy around real good ... if she's any kind of parent the situation will work itself out.
  17. ...and with corvairs weighing, what, nothing.... granted, all the metal work and reinforcement's gonna add weight, and a cad big block is just a tad bigger than the stock engine... ah, who cares? that thing is gonna be so fast!
  18. GREAT GOD IN HEAVEN!!!! so i'm assuming he has a pilot's license? that's phenomenal, he's practically remaking the entire car! i see he still has the caddy bellhousing attached... is he adapting the th400 to fit that or is he coming up with something completely custom? keep us posted... this one really has me intrigued!!!
  19. ... or my ex moved overseas, and sits on cars for a living!
  20. they look alot like the ones i haven't installed yet, but the recline lever is different... but if they are i wanna know how he got those in there! i tried once and
  21. damn man... and i couldn't draw blood with a chainsaw!!!
  22. they should trade. terry's car'll get done and tim won't even recognize his.
  23. seems you're left with a choice between badass and badass... i think there's too much windshield on the photochop... but then again this is terry. he'll find a way to make it look 500,000 times better than the cgi!!!
