  1. I've got one here collecting dust. Same price.
  2. Bartman, I'm assuming you have the rotors and pistons for this up-grade? I think the second prop-valve you refered to is in fact the brake-warning switch. If it has a wire to it, then thats what it is. Your prop-vlv is located either on the fire-wall, or above the rear suspension.
  3. Further investigation reveals circut#400 yellow wire, A32 on the Red clip to PCM showing a varying voltage signal with key in run position. This is the VSS. of the IC system on the vin "P" engine. Ring any bells?
  4. Thanks again for the Boost. I've allways believed in balance to one's life. I juggle the responsibilities with the hobies to achieve this. You guys add to the fun aspect (with your amusing anticdotes) while reducing the frustration factor of our automotive intrests (with your expertise). Thanks again to all for being one of the many blessings in my life. Yea, my first jont will be up their to El Segundo bro.
  5. His dad is in for attempted homoside, and mom is in for drug trafficking. Our daughter got tired of being used as some punk's doormat and I think shes not telling me all of how he mistreated her to keep me from doing something I could get cuffed for. although she had the sence to leave the a** hole. No he is NOT the girls' father. She has 2 kids 5&6 yrs old. Their dad is a good guy with a real job. Hes with the Sherrif's dept. here in San Diego. She just came home to lick her proverbial wounds. My wife and I agreed this would be temporary (what ever that translates to).
  6. All mechanical aspects of this build are complete! I have only the wiring left to do (not one of my strongest areas) and this baby roars! or smokes Finishing up some custom body mods, cosmetics, spoilers, skirts, primer and block-sand. Got some last leg encouragment form my buddy Tim. (thanks bro) My life has been such a blur the last couple months its a wonder I can see straight. 11 people in our 4bdrm house? yes that is eleven. Ok, if you must know. My self and the Mrs. our 10yr old grandson who's parents are both incarcerated (don't ask) Our two roomates Mr. & Mrs. Page they are way cool. (soon to be moving out on their own) My mother in law, God bless her (she is dying) Smoked for 50 of her 70+yrs. My brother in law from Seattle (he helps take care of mom). Our 25yr old daughter and her 2 girls (don't ask). and last but not least my, father in law who is recovering from quadrouple cardiac surgery. for at least another week. This Z car project in my garage (the last uncrouded space in our home), and you guys here on this web site have been huge in preserving what little sanity I manage to maintain. I thank God for you all! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some wiring to do.
  7. After utilizing the search function and sifting through the 40 previous posts on the subject, I came close but no direct hit! The stock tach was recieving a signal from a 6point dizzy and calibrated to such, what would tell the tach to adjust itself for the 2 extra cylinders? I'm thinking an in line potentiometer in the OE blue wire that had the resistor. but between where in the signal from the optispark's coil pack to the PCM? I've checked in the Haynes shop manual for the 94' vette. Index reference, tachometer... and it dosen't show a schematic. It only states that the tach signal/display is a part of the onboard control center. I have access to a portable strob-a-tach we use to check brushes on the generator's exciter. So calibration would not be a factor once a signal is established. Its just figuring out where to grab the pulse from. Would it be the RED clip on the PCM, point No.10 WHT or white wire, 121 (tach) as on the LS-1 harness? Anyone been there done that here? TIA, Dave
  8. Personal preference, me no like too much extra stuff added onto the beautiful Z's body. The older Z's (40-60-80) have such smooth body lines from a distance, the silhouette alone is sweeeeeet. Up close I've shaved it to make her even smoother on the eyes. loose the Big blinkers, bumpers, rain-rails, wipers, door handles, key-holes, even the little finger tab for the fuel-door, cover the vents on the rear columns behind the emblems, loose all emblems, remove rear hatch press-button, body side-moldings, flush mount ant, cover the head-lamps. Weld up the seams on the front around the lamp housings and lower door seams. Attach the 2 flaps for the battery and clutch master access to the hood to open up as one. A little euro type skirt on each side and, walla' Now its even cleaner, smoother and IMO sexy! But to each his own.
  9. .02 cents more or should I say .03 It seems basically most things are tri, check it out; Time, space, matter. past, present, future. water, earth, sky. protons, neutrons, electrons. solid, vapor, liquid. red, yellow, blue. child, adult, senior. height, width, depth. body, mind, spirit. the trinity (for people of faith) boy, girl, one common goal. compromise, sacrifice, dedication. So...whats love got to do with it? Good question from Tina T. Not much after many years of togeatherness. The Love runs thin over time and the last three elements mentioned are what has (for my wife and I) proven to work! Giving up something you want, to get something else you need, or want, is compromise. Giving up something you have for (possibly) nothing in return is sacrificing. Dedication is determined by how long and well you do the first two. Removing any of these three concepts will make it difficult (if not impossible) for any relationship to be healthy and strong enough to stand the test of time.
  10. If memory serves me, the break-in period for the CF/DF clutch is not merly sugested or recomended but more like mandatory for optimum performance and longevity. On mine I believe they specify 500mls of NORMAL street use prior to any hard launches. (whatever you consider a hard launch) and (whatever you call normal street use) My wife considers my version of normal driving a bit on the psycho-side. Those are prety relative terms. However, the 500mls seems to be more of a hard No. Only way to find out for sure, contact someone of tech assistance at CF and ask them a hypethetical question.
  11. Congratulations! Way to go Dad. Will he have any bros or sisters? Welcome to Earth Branden Robert Gregory. I thought if I ever have anymore kids I'd name them so that their initals worked out to RPM. All kiding aside haha, He looks great!
  12. Sorry I missed this one. I had a good time at last year's BBQ. Thanks for sharing picts. I'll be at next yrs should it happen when the NHRA finals don't happen on the same day. My first NHRA event ever and WOW! Those top fuelers are unbelievable! 4.5sec 1/4ml @ 325mph. The sound rips right through your body. My buddy who has been helping on the Z build, his dad has been a member since about 1965. We got sweet tickets right in the pits. Anyway, those who know can understand my excitement. If you have not expierenced one I encourage you to go. (That goes for the races in Pomona too) Glad to hear the Tim's tradition is seeing new Z enthousiests. C ya'll nxt yr. Dave
  13. My 0.02, I'm not too sure on what works as I'm 0 for 2 and on wife No.3 now. What little I have figured out I'll share here. Not trying to sound too sexist, Its kinda' like our vehicles. How much time and money are you willing to invest? How well did the PO take care of them? How strong dose it run now? Can you trust it with your life? and or the lives of your family? There will allways be one of you who is emmotionally stronger, and its not necessarily the guy! If in this case it is you, how long are you willing to let her lean on you before you resent her? Tough call bro. Calculate the risk. No guts no Glory. The bigest successes in my history have been the other people I've invested in! God speed brother.
  14. Summit racing, Jegs, or try the company it self.
  15. On the intake, the single fuel injector on top. This serves the same function as a choke. Try disconnecting/blocking the fuel supply to this. The ECM also has a procedure for trouble shooting the various components of your combustion controls. The service manuals should have these listed. If you have access to base resources they have good tools and reference materials for active duty personel. I did 5.5yrs as a Diver at Pearl on Oahu (mid 80's) so I know whats available. or at least it was back then. Thank you for your sacrifice and the service you provide to help preserve our freedom.
  16. Could be in the inrichment circut. This dumps the fuel in untill desired coolant temp is satisfied, then it leans out.
  17. I got a Fidanza for the LT-1/T56. I believe they are made as ordered. In other words you may be waiting up to 6-8wks as we did. That was ok by me, knowing the part was not just sitting on some shelf for who knows how long?
  18. Yes, I have an R200 from my 75' 280. pm me for more info.
  19. Looks nice and clean. Good job. How many gal. fuel-cell? The regulator and gauge is on the return side yes? The component downstream of the filter, is that some type of pump pulse dampner?
  20. Speaking of write-ins on the balot, San Diego got it's new Mayor via write in. Surfer chick slash environmentalist. Cowa-bunga-baby!
  21. I may be able to help. Will post picts tomorrow. Its a 75' 280 but I believe the area in question is compatable with your 72'
  22. That really stinks what happened to you however, I'm not sure what constitutes a "youngster" beacuse according to the "old dudes" at work, we who are 30-40 something are the so called "kids" here at work. When my kids and their kids would consider me way old. Two wrongs never have, nor ever will, make anything right. Charicter and integrity know no spicific age preference. Buyer Beware Bro. Dave
  23. A word of caution when installing amps on the passenger's side floor, Watch were you drill. My son hit both the break and fuel lines while mounting the amp. With a JL-500/1 watt sub amp under the driver's seat pushing 2 Audioban 12" 1000 watt subs. Another JL-300/4 under the passenger's seat pushing 2 pairs of 6x9" eclipses' front & rear, fully Dynamated, What road noise?
