  1. I'll be danged. I thought I saw a boost gauge in the video. Sounds great!
  2. I would bet turbo with 3" downpipe and back to stock exit.
  3. Easiest in my opinion is B&M pro shift. It's not a rachet and has changeable gates for 4 speed. 280zcar has pictures of his mounted with 700r4 and I have one mounted with my current th350. I just fabbed up a mount plate, bolted shifter to plate, then plate where regular shifter collar went in tunnel.
  4. This doesn't include section correct? So if he lowers much more than 1.5-2 inches he is going to be hitting bump stops, right?
  5. I've always stood by the idea that feeling "fast" is much more fun than actually being fast. The age old mantra, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. For most of us, we just won't be in the situation to appropriately apply 500+ hp in a truly fun manner. I suppose straight line drag racing is a bit more attainable, but I would argue the basic still applies. I have always felt like my 1974 karmann ghia with 1900lbs and 100hp, and my 2008 si sedan were more fun to drive that the higher horsepower cars I have driven. They just felt more lively, and I wasn't afraid to push them a little harder in my daily driving.
  6. Looking great Kevin! hoping to see it back on the road soon.
  7. I'll vouch for sunny, good guy. Helped me get my SBC moutned up. Thanks sunny, it isn't on the road yet, but only because I haven't gotten exhaust finished up. Will post video when that is done
  8. The answer is yes. You can run the stock fuel pump and lines on a mild v8 swap. You can run an inexpensive dead head fpr regulator with no return and get it running. It isn't optimal, but at the pressures your pump is supplying it probably won't create too much of an issue.
  9. Weather has been incredible. Have not had ANY time lately between call at the hospital and the baby. Exhaust still needs to be finished, and safety inspection done
  10. Nevermind the dash unit, what wheels are those?
  11. Lol, My wife loves purses, I love my wife. She has made an effort to be able to recognize an aston martin db6, I make an effort to recognize a nice purse.
  12. Meh, never understood the "don't ever buy a copy wheel mentality. I understand their point, but isn't nearly everything else in life a similar venture? Let's face it, most of us don't have 2-3k to spend on JUST the wheels. Add decent tires to that and you're more 3-4k. So what if the style is a copy of something that is wildly popular. My wife can't afford a Hermes Birkin Bag at 5-8k, but we sure as heck can get her a coach that is a nice purse and looks dang close for a fraction. If a manufacturer is obviously producing a shoddy product that is unsafe, then yes. We have an obligation to say, don't purchase, but hey, RBR varrstoen v2, ARE mesh, sign me up.
  13. I think the backspacing needs to be revisited. the depth of the lip doesn't matter really. if you have a 9" wheel and 4.5 inches of backspace (truly) then you have to account for another 4.5 inches of potential frontspacing correct? This is going to stick past the stock fender lip. If the lip is 3 inch, that leaves a 1.5 inch deep mounting pad, but that mounting pad is still in front of the hub. Maybe I am mistaken but someting about these backspacing quotes from the manufacturer don't add up.
  14. I would imagine the non turbo motor would be a tight fit. I have a hard time believing the tt motor would fit our bay without heavy mods to inner fenders, possibly strut tower depending on setback.
  15. That wire would have exited through the main harness hole on passenger lower side. Pretty much every wire but fuel injection harness exits through that hole. I would start at the body connector and see if the wire is still there.
  16. Looking to buy a set of coilover struts. Will be going in my 280.
  17. First, before you catch a reprimand, try to finish your thoughts just a little better in complete sentences. This forum is pretty big on grammar. If there is a language barrier then it would be helpful to let us know so someone doesn't get on to you unecessarily. Second, all of these issues have been discussed in the various forums. Try to pick out the key phrases such as "tachometer" or "oil pressure", "temperature climbing" things like that. I can gaurantee they have been sorted out in some way or another. If you then find your situation is indeed very unique, then please do post. This forum has some extremeley knowledgable people who are very willing to help individuals who show they are willing to put time and effort into this hobby. Welcome to hybridz, it is a vast wealth of automotive information for datsuns, and has information that can help you grow in many other techinical areas as well.
  18. I'm with draztik. I know the photo angle can play into this some, but I am pretty sure those flares have not been mounted the same on either side.
  19. Member grumpyvette. He has a website, Grumpy's performance garage. His site has a forum with TONS of great info from fuel to exhaust, cams, heads etc. I highly suggest going to the site if you haven't just for fun. I am sure he will chime in for you. He will also appreciate the specific info you have provided.
  20. Wow, I really like it! That open grill kind of carries the GTR type look IMO. Well done for a custom piece.
  21. Hey, looking for a front/rear set of 280z strut tubes to section for coilover conversion. May be interested in front strut insulator if they are decent as well. I am in North texas/dallas area, would prefer pickup, but may ship if price is right
  22. Looks good. Stance is definitely much better.
  23. Isn't that what I said? Glad we were able to agree.
