  1. You definitely need new bearings, The crank looks good, but needs a polishing, any machine shop can do this. The plugs look like the engine was running real rich, maybe this is why it smelled funky. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  2. Myron, exactaly where would the monoleaf be located? Is it like a Corvette? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  3. RPMS, I tried Autozone and ordered the rad for a 6 like JTR recomended. When it came in it was the wide one we can't use, and they didn't have anything else. I tried anouther auto parts place with the same results. Then I found 1-800-radiator, and they had the right one. Tell them the measurements to make sure. Justen, it is aluminum, with plastic tanks. It's a single core that's 1 3/4" wide. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

    T56 slave

Thanks Mark, I'll look into that. BLKMGK, The stock braided hose isn't long enough anyways, you need to have one made. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

    T56 slave

Why are the mounting studs for the slave so long on the T56? Are you supposed to adjust along the studs for the proper position of the slave, or do you turn the nuts down until the stop? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  6. GM is 5 0n 4.75 pattern. I'm running this on my 240Z. Since my rear end is a shortened 12 bolt Chevy, the rear isn't a problem. For the front I used a Chevy drum hub (which uses the same bearings as a Datsun). I then had my friend make a thin spacer between the hub and Datsun rotor, then bolted it on the hub like a stock Datsun. I'm now using Weld Rodlites wheels with a Chevy bolt pattern. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  7. Jason, I'll try and take off the old tires with out bring them somewere ($$). Then wiegh the rims. Then go from there. I hope your not in a hurry? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  8. Not sure Jason, They are aluminum, but I still have some crappy tires on them that need to come off first. The problem will be packing them, I'll need to find some large boxes. If he's serious I can look further into it. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  9. Ron thoses aren't my cars. I just saw that wheel and it was the same as the ones I'm trying to sell. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  10. I graphed on an AC Cobra scoop, I think it looks great ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  11. Jason, I have some early aluminum wheels that came off of my 240Z. I think they are 14X6, and they need cleaning up. $100.00 plus shipping. Check out this link and look at the smashed up car, those are what they look like. http://www.unm.edu/~jolane ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  12. As far as I know you don't have to widen the 280 Z tunnel for the T56 ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  13. Your kidding right? Yes it would definetly leak! Don't forget the cooling system is under pressure, any small leak will stream out with force. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  14. Welcome to the group PJ! I see your also from GA, one day all us Georgians need to get together. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  15. Is this for a 240, or 280? I have a 240 and used JTR's trany mount, but the tunnel narrows where the trany bolts to the cross member, so I had to cut an H on both sides in the metal were the humps of the cross member would fit, and bang up the metal to form cups over the exhaust humps. I heard that the 280 is wider at the same point and the cross member fits correctly. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  16. 200R4's came in mid 80's Monte Carlos, Grand Prix, El Camino, Grand National (but they had Turbo V6s), I think Malibu also. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  17. Michael, what about Motorsports Supra style wing, the one that sits at the top of the hatch like a roof spoiler? What affect does this wing have? downforce? will it help with fumes? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  18. Rick, I've noticed that with Netscape I can't access the list either. But if I use Internet Explorer it comes right up. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  19. Good stuff!, I was just going to use Dot5 to do my entirely new brake system (lines and all)this weekend. After reading that article, I think I will be returning the Dot5 and go with Dot4! Thanks for the info! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  20. "I'm still looking at a chin splitter design with adjustable rods incorporated as well..." Mike, do you have any pics of what a chin splitter looks like? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html [This message has been edited by Mike kZ (edited February 28, 2001).]
  21. Ah Mopar! I love 'em. My first car was a '72 Duster that I stuffed in a 440! That car was a blast! A friend of mine had a '68 Roadrunner with a Hemi in it! Just awesome! Wasn't there a Z with a 392 Hemi in it? I think someone here posted a pic of it. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  22. I just read an article about a GM ASA Vortec 5700 (LS1). GM built 300 of these engines to run in the American Speed Association (ASA)stock car races. It's basically a stock LS1 with a different cam and springs, and a re-mapped EMC. It puts out 430 hp and 430 lb-ft with 93 octane gas. Apparently you can buy this hot cam and spring kit as well as the revised EMC and wiring loom out of the GM Performance Parts catalog. You need to specify this for ASA cars for manual swaps(T-56) or for the 4L60E. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

    AC Swap.

Chris, it's an in dash unit that replaced the old Z system, it fit very well but, I had to modify above the fan motor for some extra clearance. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

    AC Swap.

Hey Chris, it's not running yet, but pretty soon I hope! It looks like it will work great. The system is for a mid size street rod so it should cool the Z with no problem! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  25. It sounds like you narrowed it down to the wiring. There must be a brake in that pigtail somewere. Can you run temporary wires from the TPS to the ECM? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
