  1. Did you check Pete's write up on the subject? http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pparaska/drivelinemods.htm also this: http://drivetrain.com/driveline_angle_problem.html
  2. Will the carb still fit under the hood with the spacer? If so leave it, spacers usually give more HP. Also it is better to run one valve cover filter, with a PVC on the other. You'll get less of an oil mess that way.
  3. Congrats Davy! 4 kids , I can't even imagine 1!. Hey ,now you should get $1600 from the government for the Z
  4. I don't know if you've read this, but it might help: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/6212/diffswap/diffswap.htm

  6. Looks great so far!, Keep up the excellent work!
  7. Sounds like your getting too much fuel, when engines are cold they like a rich mixture, so engine keeps running. When hot, it stalls when too rich. Did you have all the injectors checked out of the motor? Could be one or more is leaking.
  8. What about Mike's question? How much HP NOS shot can hyperutectic pistons handle?
  9. Even if the diff is offset a bit, the tail of the tranny should be centered and not pointing in the direction of the offset dif. Check out this site: http://drivetrain.com/driveline_angle_problem.html
  10. There isn't any concrete numbers. If you have an HEI dizzy, move the engine back enough that you can still move it, maybe 1/2 to 3/4" from firewall. If you have the small cap dizzy, you have more room to go back. If you have a stick tranny, make sure the shifter comes out of the stock hole with enough room to go through all the gears. If you have an auto tranny, it can go anywhere in the tunnel. As for the tail end of the tranny, just make sure it's centered in the tunnel.
  11. Go to the "RB Series Swaps forum" , they can help you with this swap!
  12. How about this I4, it's a SR20DET
  13. Oh my god ,that's so true! Half the time you have no idea what's going on, Then your in trouble!
  14. The Q-jet has very large secondary butterflies, are you sure they are not hitting anything and not opening enough.
  15. It's a '64 replacement block. The CE is for replacement. http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm
  16. Are you still planning on driving your car on the highway? It's going to scream without an overdrive.
  17. If it doesn't, your engine dude should be able to drill the crank for one, or he may have a stick crank.
  18. You mentioned that the engine had an auto trans, does the crank have a hole in the end for a pilot bearing?

Man, It's sad to see your own mother coming down to disowning you! Where you a bad boy or something?
  20. looked into that once, and the answer is no. You could carefully cut the lip off with a razor blade, but it may look choppy.
  21. Depends on how old your gasket is. If it is original and hard, forget it, the gasket will break off. If it's a new gasket, and/or soft take the corner pieces off first, and slowly pull the chrome trim out. Re-installing may be tough, it's recomended to install the chrome with the gasket on the windshield, then install the windshield. Not sure how hard it would be with the gasket and windshield already installed.
