  1. What did you do wuth the Amp wires? They need to be connected together. You wont use these wires. Just tape them up well so they don't touch any metal. Now ground the negative side of the gauge, and run the positive side either to the fuse box, or better still, right to the positive of the battery with an inline fuse.
  2. I think we've all done that at some time. Where do you think I spent all my Christmas vacations the last 3 years!
  3. If you want to use that 305, there is a stroker kit for one. It bring it to a 335 C.I.It includes a new stroker crank, KB pistons, street strip rings, CR1 rods, rod bearings, main bearings, gaskit set, for $599. You can get it from Powerhouse, 931 19th st, Backersfield, CA 93301. 661-861-0167.
  4. I'm running the Camero rad. So far the hottest it's been here is in the 80's. My temp has not gone over 185, and my engine is far from stock.
  5. I'm sure things will be fine with your son Myron! The younger they are, the faster they heal! As Lone said, heart surgery has come along way, they know what they are doing. I hope you have insurance. Good luck!!
  6. Man, I can't believe how sucky things have been for you Lone! You too Mike. Keep your heads up, things will get better!
  7. Yesterday I took my 72 year old dad for a little ride in my Z! I took it easy until I found a remote road to go down. Then I let it rip... chirped in 2nd and 3rd, then came to a stop. Looked over to my dad, and he was just grining form ear to ear! "holy cow is this thing fast! It's like being in a stock car" When we got home, my dad went to my mom and said "that car is like being in a jet on takeoff!" My mom laughed, and he said "no...really! it pins you to the seat, and those fat rear tires chirped in every gear!!" He was freaking out! I love it!!!!
  8. Crap!, What is that 6" or so? That is scary!
  9. I have a Century that's fully adjustable with gas, it works great!
  10. I had them in a 409 chevy engine, they seem to work alright, but they do make a ticking noise like a solid lifter.
  11. I do remember a repair kit for cast iron that just used a propaine tourch for heat with some special welding rods. I can't remember the name. Try searching the web.
  12. That's what I meant by fully adjustable what TZ said
  13. Try reving the motor past 2000 grand a couple of times. This usally kicks the alternator into charging.
  14. Don't use a regular wrench. Use a brake wrench made for the job!
  15. I painted my car in the garage, stripes and all. I used the dual stage, base coat/clear coat, because I used two different colors. The base coat went on great, and dried fast. The clear coat was the bitch to spray. It's hard to get it to lay smooth. I had too many runs on my drivers door, and later re-shot the base and clear on the door. After a lot of wet sanding and buffing it came out pretty good, especally for a black car! If You are doing a single color I would use a single stage, you can still wet sand and buff. I hung plastic from the cieling to floor around the car to keep over spray off everything in the garage w/2 box fans at the garage doors. I also used a HVLP gravity feed gun. Check out the links below, this was shortly after I painted it.

    WOW!

I'm using the aluminum and plastic Camero rad with a Taurus fan. When I replaced the cam the whole engine was gone through. Replaced bearings, lifters, oil pump, and cleaned out the whole block. Hopefully everything is cool now!

Nothing too radical: Magnum Comp Cam 270H-10 Hyd - , gross valve lift .470 int .470 ex 270 advertised duration 224 duration @ .050 int, ex 110 lobe separation

    WOW!

Took my car out for it's first real romp since changing my bad cam. Holly cow this thing can accelerate! Took it out on the highway for the first time all the way up to 6th gear, it was smooth with no rattles, and vibrations.Took it through some traffic, and it never went higher than 185 degrees. Had a lot of cars stop beside me at the lights, tring to figure out what it was. Can't wait to get behind the wheel again, that was just too much fun!!!!
  19. I'd go to the local hardware store with your sending unit and find a 45 or 90 degree brass fitting that has the same threads and size as your sending unit. You may also find an extension to raise the unit above your intake.
  20. It sounds like the wheel cylinder is not pushing out far enough. Did you check the range of movement on them?
  21. I've got a 327 with an Edelbrock pro-flo EFI, with my trickflow G2 heads, the engine made 435hp 493tq on an engine dyno. Check my first link below for a closeup pic of the engine.
  22. Call Z Barn at 1-800-247-2793, they are a large Z only scrap yard in Knoxville TN
  23. I don't know about a '75 tank, but my '72 tank just had that 1" strip of metal and that was it!
