  1. Heres a video of big phils car. His exhaust has a slant to it. Skip to 0:45 to see it. http://www.youtube.com/user/turbo280z#p/u/174/ZMLm9ZU-yko
  2. Next time use a PM instead of bringing up a four year old thread. Just a heads up.
  3. Sorry i haven't got much work done on the car lately, i had another project to work on. It was a 2000 R6 that my brother bought. It had been sitting for awhile. So i had to go through it and clean out the fuel system for him. It runs like a champ now. Here's the bike, hopefully he wont hurt him self on it. I took it for a spin its a pretty sweet bike.
  4. I think this is what you need. http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/voltreg.htm
  5. I got the tank mounted, i was a little unsatisfied with the fitment. The back two mounting tabs on the tank didn't line up with the straps they were about an inch to the drivers side. I was able to bend the straps enough to get them to fit. The second and most major problem that came up, was that the fill neck on the tank didn't line up with that of the car. I'm sure i will be able to get it to fit though.
  6. You beat me to it, i just went out and took some pictures. They all lined up, just like I said it was tight around a stud. It wasn't that big of a problem. I'm not really to worried about how long its going to last. I just put it on there to get it running for now. I will later on get a custom manifold. In side, where they collect was pretty smooth. Sorry i can't get a picture of that.
  7. That looks a lot like the OBX manifold i got. It bolted up fine, the one thing that i noticed was that it was a little tight on one of the studs. A quick hit with a Dremel solved that problem. I only paid 160 dollars for it shipped. I had to replace my stock manifold, because it had a crack almost all the way around it. Ebay Link
  8. I would like to get maximum boost. I found some good reading online. Here is the site name www.enginebasics.com
  9. For all that rear quarter work you did, it still keeps the stock lines. It looks good!
  10. Get a hack saw and cut in between the two to separate them. Then just get a hammer and hit it back and fourth until it comes out. Make sure you tap the lock bolt out too. It will come out with a good hit from a hammer. If you don't feel like paying for a new spindle pin you can get a 5/8 x 10" grade 8 bolt. It will work just as fine.
  11. 43-44 without a vacuum source. If you ever turn the boost up you can actually run little higher rail pressure to keep from running lean.
  12. This weekend i got most of my suspension apart. I had to weld a nut on top of the gland nut and whack the wrench with a hammer to get them to come lose. I got the struts out of the rears, but the fronts are seized in there.
  13. Those numbers look good. What are your lamda numbers looking like?
  14. So i have been reading Designing and Tuning high performance fuel injections systems by Greg Banish. However i can't get my hands on enough. Could someone point me to some other books about cars? I don't really care if its about ecu tuning or if its about suspension geometry. I just want MORE!
  15. So i got some more work done on the car. Today i got the R200 in. Now i just need to get the rest of the suspension together, and the car will be back on the ground.
  16. Where is the top of the tank going to be located in terms of the fill neck on the car? That might be a problem if its to high. I'm sure you already looked at that, but might as well point it out.
  17. Vtec can kiss VCT's a@@! The car is stating to come together, i bet you cant wait to hear the sound of that rb for the first time. I know that i can't. I always find my self on YouTube watching videos of Rb's. I was looking looking at your surge tank, and you might want to put a grommet where the fuel lines are coming through the car. Just to keep them from getting chewed up. The dash is looking good. I tried doing that with mine, but went with custom dash instead.
  18. From what i have read the stock fpr cant regulate the pressure from the walbro 255. I would try putting on a AFPR. That may be a problem later on. I think this engine is in a s13 if i remember correctly so the fuel setup shouldn't be a problem. I would agree with rs speed on the tps, that would be my first place to check.
  19. That engine bay is mean looking. I like your idea for the oil catch can.
  20. I have been working on my car slowly over the past year and a half. Mainly just collecting parts and working on stuff here and there. I'm starting to get closer to getting the car on the road so i figured its time to start my project thread. The car is a 11/73 260z. The engine is a S2 Rb25det with basic boltons. Once the engine dieds i will rebuild it, hopefully that wont be for awhile though. On with the pictures. The day i got the engine, i'm on the right. I had pat1 flip my pan for me, came out great! Thanks again Patrick The engine as it sits now, i just put an obx manifold on there for now. The old one had a big crack in it. New stage 3 spec clutch and steel FW, i hope its not to grippy for the street. Here is the dash i made, i broke mine trying to get it out. And in the car For fuel i got an Al tank made by boyd welding. I have an inline Walbro 255, Running a -8 to the rail and a -6 off the rail to a FPR then back to the tank. I took the vapor tank out but i'm going to run the vent from the fill tube back to the tank. For suspension i'm putting new tockio Hp struts and springs in. I will also be putting a R200 with 60,xxx in, got it for a great price so i couldn't pass it up. On the inside i'm leaving it stripped so i put some sound deadening down. It is made by a company called Edead. It took half a gallon to put one coat on. I would say about five pounds total. More to come later!
  21. That should solve your fuel problems. Are you going to run new lines. I just used a -8 for my feed and a -6 for return. I'm not planing on to much power in the future so they should flow enough fuel. How are you going to mount the tank? I would just weld a cage up out some some 1" square tube. How are you planing on covering the hole left from cutting the spare tire out, some sheet aluminum?
  22. Shoot Rs Speed a PM, he'll have your answer.
  23. The best tool you can use is the SEARCH function. There is a lot information out there you just have to dig through some stuff. You may need to get an ecu from a 20DET. I don't think you would need to do any fuel mods. Maybe a pump, but the stock setup should flow enough fuel. You will have run coolent and oil lines to the turbo. I'm sure your not the first do this, so there will be answers for any problems that may/will arise. You might have to do some cutting to get the IC piping the way you want it. Take luck, and remember your best friend is named SEARCH.
