  1. I did a practice run on my stenciling I will be doing paint real soon and wanted to try out a few ideas. What do you think of these??
  2. This is an awesome build. I just read through your entire project thread. Nice work! Keep it up because I am looking forward to that time slip! Subscribed.
  3. I re-routed the wire mess under my fuse block and secured the loose ends with electrical tape. The electrical system seems to be in good order now. Now off the get the paint done. I plan on getting the primer soon and the paint.
  4. Yay! I still don't know why I don't have power to my brake pedal switch...so I rewired the whole thing and got it to work. I now have both turn signals and brake lights.
  5. I fixed it this morning. I looked for the broken link in the wiring harness and couldn't find it without tearing apart the whole friggin dash.....so I got my head out of my butt (it was starting to hurt) and just bypassed the stupid harness by wiring the switch to the fuse block then to the G/W wire that runs along the passenger side body rail. Now my turnsignals work AND my brake lights..yay! No tickets for me!! I will have to trace out the problem later. But now I can go the the car show without any issues.
  6. I just fixed my turn signals and also the clock! I still have no brake lights...but my running lights still work. Any ideas why I am not getting power to the brake pedal switch? The fuse is fine and getting power at the block.
  7. Hey...that could work for choke cables too. Nice one!
  8. You never want to mess around with your eye site. Always wear safety gear...including a respirator.
  9. Yeah...since they use almost no power I can get creative. I plan on using the LED strip of lights I saw someone here put around their headlights. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=149652 That looks awesome, it was sort of like the LEDs on the Audi head lights. Eventually I will switch my tail lights to LEDs also. First I have to track down my brake light problem.
  10. Thanks for the offer Greg. I put on some LED turn signals to replace the 240z lights I sold. They are brighter than what the picture shows. I now am chasing a little electrical gremlin trying to figure out why I don't have power to my brake light switch. My hazzards work, turnsignals light up, regular running lights work......just no brake lights. There is no power to the brake pedal switch...so what ever that means. lol The fuse is good I will keep on searching because I know this problem has been covered multiple times.
  11. Today I cleaned the contacts on my turnsignal switch and got her to work! Now I just have to figure out why I don't have power to my brake pedal switch.
  12. It is simple. Because of the new rules, any posts you had in the non-tech or classified sections no longer count toward your post count. That is why you have less posts indicated in your profile.
  13. I will be replacing my turn signal relay with Napa auto parts 522 universal relay for 3.00. If that don't work, then I will switch to an electronic relay. I am running LED turn signals now and the thermal switches don't always work well with them.
  14. Thanks for the offer. Those are very nice, but a bit out of my price range.
  15. I also have a bunch of SU parts including enough to make a complete set of SUs. I really want these mirrors so I can finish my bodywork before paint.
  16. This is a list as a reminder for me of what parts I need to get for my 240Z project. Electrical: fuse block Heater fan switch temperature regulated switch for my electric fan Blue LED light strip to run as sidemarker lights around my headlights. (looks so cool) Turn signal relay (mine sucks, it only works half of the time) Body: More bondo to finish paint prep Polyurethane enamel paint (cool vanilla and black) Filler Primer- high build Wet sand paper; 180,220,600,800,1500 Fender mirrors Painting supplies ie; acetone, thinner, any other paint additives needed. Compressor with regulator Safe place to spray the car and let dry overnight Interior: Seat covers Cleaner for the plastic and vinyl Rear interior side panels Dash repair kit I know there are more things...but I will have to add them later as I remember them.
  17. I don't really know what goes here...but here is what I am putting. lol
  18. Nice color! I am doing this same color...so I will post it up once I get it done. She is a flat white at the moment.
  19. I am looking for those awesome looking mirrors that I see mounted on the fenders. I have plenty of nice stuff I could trade for them, look over my for sale threads: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=152393 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=152297 Or I can pay for them... Let me know.
  20. I found a better deal on paint...$24.00 a gallon Polyurethane Enamel mixed to whatever color I want. Paint will happen sooner than later at that price. On another note..... I was playing with some SU parts I got from Skib yesterday (thanks mang) and discovered that there are two different sized needle jets. I am not sure which to run. I tried the richer ones, but ran into too much fuel at higher RPMs. I decided to run the longer leaner ones for now, but is there a way to tune the SU to run those richer needles? I am new at the way of the SU carb...they seem so darn simple but that confuses me. hahaha Here is what I got, minus the intake..... Can you see the needle size difference? (my camera sucks) I also notice a difference in the piston that holds the needle...see the holes? Is there any benefit to using one over the other? Anyway, I now have a ton of SU parts to play with so I can learn how to get the most out of my L26.
  21. A buddy of mine had this similar problem...it turned out to be the head.
  22. That only works well if you have a ton of virtual memory in win XP. I will have to try using a modified version on FF I have been playing with and see if that helps next time.
