  1. maybe he was thinking along the lines of an upside-downdraft carb?
  2. mmmm more pictures of your car to save to my computer.
  3. wow, The following is in no way a bash to MSA, but... I was on the phone with them ordering floors for my car (1977) and decided to stock up on parts to save on shipping, so I continue to order a cap and rotor for my 83 turbo ZX dizzy. Well the guy is just confused now, asking me if the floors are for a ZX, and if so they would have to order them, and are the headlight covers I want for a ZX as well? obviously not as bad as you guys' experience but i would expect a little more from MSA.
  4. Low rolling resistance tires generally have less traction than regular street tires.
  5. prime example: http://turbocelica.com/ (of a nice celica)
  6. a precision straight edge is what you need. http://cgi.ebay.com/L-S-Starrett-precision-straight-edge-385-36-NEW_W0QQitemZ290008487910QQihZ019QQcategoryZ12581QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem something like that perhaps?

  9. What floors are those? I'm sure they are the zedd findings floors, just wondering what gauge... also, how much fabrication did it take to get them to fit? oh yes, what kind of wheels are those? They almost look like revolutions but not quite...
  10. To answer the questions from posts #4 and #5, I think it was duramix. I will probably be using this stuff this weekend, and when I do i'll get the name of it. Maybe I'll snap some pics of it in action too. the nozzle was in fact about 6" long, and it was replaceable.
  11. I'm not a turbo guy, and I can't tell you if its such a great idea, But I have seen this on many cars in the past.
  12. if its the stock ignition lock, some of them like to stick if you insert the key all the way. Try turning the key before you push it in all the way and see if that makes a difference yes, if your transmission is locking the front wheels you have a serious problem. These cars are rear wheel drive. I pull the B.S. flag on your mechanic.
  13. it does have 968 tail lights... also, it doesn't have the rubber wing. I think thats could be throwing you off. But then again, 968 has round flip up head lights in the front a la 928.
  14. there was an l24e maxima this weekend at the JY. The engine was intact. Let me know if you want the oil pan and pickup.
  15. yeah, I'm thinking there is no way around the 77 relay. I can still use the ecu power off of it, but for safety's sake, I will end up wiring the pump externally. the thing is that the fuel pump wiring is like this: a power wire going from the relay to the ecu, and it splits off to the afm. The afm closes a circuit with that power wire and clicks on the fuel pump relay. I don't know if that made sense. Yes, I will definitely wire the fuel pump with my own relay.
  16. Thanks for the replies! I will soon find out how well (or how bad) these slicks fit on the stock rims. I have a feeling I am making some sort of mistake by mixing stock and the extreme end of modified... On the other hand, I will be running my first autox on my current 225-50-15 setup, and I will run the next one with the slicks. This should provide a good basis for comparison.
  17. yes pics! chase down those electrical gremlins and get it back on the road!
  18. where do you guys get this metal? Metal scrap yards? Home depot and lowes charge way too much for their sheets.
  19. Isn't there a safer way to test than to run a cooler on one side and nothing on the other side? when I first read the sentence where you described how you were only using ONE cooler, I thought horrible things were to come at the end of the post. then again, im a compulsive symmetrist... is that even a word?
