  1. the turbo is almost as large as the engine!
  2. I just tried installing a JVC head unit in my car, and lo and behold, as soon as I hook up all the wires, nothing happens. I double checked the wires with a voltmeter and I'm getting ground, power, acc power, where and when it is needed. I'm about 95% sure I have the speakers hooked up correcly. Am I missing something obvious here before I make the drive across town to the authorized JVC service location?
  3. kinda reminds me of the fiat inline 4's except its an 8...

  6. or perhaps more at the classiczcars.com guys?
  7. I saw one a while back and I had to go back to make sure I wasn't hallucenating. It was beautiful!
  8. They grind away the base circles and leave the height of the lobe the same. There is a picture of rebello's cams that has the base circles ground so much that they are flush with the "rough" part of the cam. I think Braap put it up here. found it: So did you ever look at the back of the cam to see if it was stock or not?
  9. thats a great Idea! I don't have any parts yet... this is merely a dream right now. cast defects, I don't think that would come with the external trim parts, like the float bowl covers & fuel fittings...
  10. i just looked in your gallery... that manifold is sexy! if I ever went turbo I would have to have one of those on my car for sure!
  11. Thanks grumpy! Thats the thread I was looking for. It appears my question has evolved a bit from the original one though i.e. we are no longer taking into account temperatures.
  12. i suppose I shall offer my experience as well. Does the transmission have dowels? If so, perhaps the dowels have been molested in some way that they are no longer the exact shape to fit into their proper holes, and this could be causing you problems. One time, I tried to line up my clutch using a Honda clutch tool. It almost fit, but the clutch was off just enough to cause me 30 min of wrestling with the transmission before I gave up and picked up a Nissan one. Oh the stubbornness of youth...
  13. If you are saying that wats and pana's look better than the wheels in this thread, I agree with you.
  14. I updated my original post with more links. I hope others will follow as this can become a very informative thread.

    Anybody fish??

so you planning on going fishing with that thing or whut? cus thats what the thread's about
  16. did you test the link before putting it in? Does the engine just spin with no fire at all or does it kick a little?
  17. jegs has pico injectors: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=26643 I also found out they are 38mm between o rings. With such a compact design, hiding them in the float bowls seems feasable.
  18. I say pull the high tension lead and lay it on a ground to see if your getting spark while cranking. then move on to see if the injectors are opening. Listen while cranking to hear the injectors click. Always check for loose connections, and that fusible link you got at the junkyard sounds sketchy... You may want to replace that. 1/2 the time its something rediculously simple.
  19. that thing is huge! What kind of header/manifold is that?
  20. That is a sick Z. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't like the mess of belts, but i guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
  21. That looks sweet! you are approved to do the other three they will look great on your 510 wagon. Get some pics when that happens!
