  1. I think you guys will enjoy this one...... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6021196065589597987&q=gtr&hl=en
  2. It would depend on the horse[power level you want to run?The best way I have seen to run nitrous is adding the fuel at the injector. With a wet shot a 50-75 hp should be safe using a single fogger about a foot away from the intake tract. The safest way to run nitrous in a wet system is using a port system and to run the fuel pressure for the nitrous above 60 psi, I would use methanol as the fuel from what I know now.
  3. I would highly recomend buying and reading http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/0837601606/ref=cm_cr_dp_pt/104-8883036-4801524?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books This will give you a basic idea of how a turbo system works.
  4. Unforgiving is running lean under N20, could be some simple as a broken wire after a couple hundred drag launches. You can run a turbo nitrous motor as a daily driver. It just depends on the HP level you want, if your looking at 500HP to the wheels your going to have to invest some money, in order to do it reliably. If your looking for 350rwh that can be done with stock parts and done with a much smaller budget in mind.Do some reading in some of the stickys in the turbo forum and a basic nitrous setup done correctly can be done for about a grand. What comes to mind for a basic setup would be a 280zxt to a z31zxt ecu conversion a stock turbo motor and turbo and single fogger wet system with a methanol injection system instead of an IC (or mabey both it gets REALLY HOT where you live) and use the methanol as the fuel for the N20 as well. The video is my car with an over 200hp shot of N20 to the wheels and a small T4/T4 turbo.
  5. Turbo`s and nitrous go together like peanut butter and jelly. A Post of my old turbo nitrous setup and dyno sheet.Running a turbo,N20 setup can be unforgiving.
  6. I ran a 10 sec 1/4 mile with no intercooler, just water/methanol injection from an old Spearco water injection system. If you don`t count the N20 shot.At the moment I am running a methanol injection system with no intercooler, but it`s a complex system .If I had to do it all over from scratch I would run 6 addition injectors on there own fuel rail and switch over to 100% methanol under boost.Methanol works , I am a beliver.
  7. Congrats on the 10`s.I ran a 10 second run at Famosa ,after they repaved the track I hooked up better there than at Sac.
  8. The dattalog is with 30% methanol as fuel at 7.5 psi of boost.40% methanol will be used at higher boost levels once the boost is increased.
  9. I have actually used an old Spearco water/alcohol injection system which consisted of a tank that was pressurised from boost pressure and used a small 40psi pump and a small jet in the intake tract and a Hobbs switch to activate at 7psi.Still worked fine with 12psi of boost with a small T4/T4 turbo and 275rwh.The setup was the brainchild of AEM engineers and tweaking of the AEM EMS by a PRO tuner.
  10. This is a dattalog of my methanol injection system under boost. The tempurature drops from almost 140 to 74 degrees in an instant, it allowed for 6* more timing under boost with crappy 91 oct pump gas. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=12629&size=big&cat=500
  11. http://www.turbophile.com/technical/diy_catch_can.html An aircraft style air/oil seperator is what I use it allows the stock PCV system to be eliminated and the oil in the can returns to the oilpan.
  12. The #`s on the exhaust housing that I see are 44b.If it is a .44 exhaust housing it`s really too small for an L28 and would be better suited to a small displacement engine 1600-1800 ccIf the housing is a .63 with what "looks" like a stage 3 exhaust wheel (I am just guessing) the turbo should work well for a stock L28 as I had a similar size turbo on my 3 liter L series and it made usable boost before 3000 rpm and being a .60 housing with what looks like it might be a 60 trim should make 350 rwh or close to it.I would personally suggest getting a larger turbo than what you initially need as you can always run minimal boost and up the boost as your project and the wallet allows.
  13. I feel your pain..when my motor went lean under N20 it fried two JE pistons and damaged a ultra rare N33 head.My solution was to upgrade my engine managment and dattalogging capability and be very conservative in my initial tuning.
  14. The anodizing with work to prevent the corrosion of methanol. The purple may also be hard anodizing.I would talk to ZEX.
  15. Several friends of mine have used the Crane boxes with less failures than the MSD units. http://www.cranecams.com/index.php?show=browseParts&lvl=5&prt=1967
  16. Black anodized aluminum has excellent corrosion resistanance to methanol. That`s why all of my methanol AN fittings are either black or nickle plated.Dichromate steel fitting offer good corrosion resistance to methanol as well.I am getting my info from AEM engineers who have done extensive studies in using methanol/water as an intercooler through fuel injectors in the intake tract.I was told that adding up to 30% distilled water would maximize the cooling benifits, but if octain was needed as well 100% was recomended.I will try to get the graph off of my tuners laptop so you can see exactly how much the methanol cools the intake charge and how it allowed for 6* more timing to be added and thats at 30% of methanol as the avalable fuel.
  17. I am using AEM in my 510 and even though it was a pain to setup(a Honda 1040 unit was used). The flexability of the AEM and the option of being able to use boost per mph , anti lag ,traction controll are what sold me.And being able to use the secondary injector controll for a methanol injection system using 160lb methanol compatable injectors.I am slowly learning how to play with the AEM and continue to be impressed. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134
  18. I was told that if I was using the methanol under boost and wanting the added octain that 100% was best.If the aluminum is hard anodized and Klotz fuel additive is used there should be no ill effects using the methanol with the aluminum plate.I would contact ZEX.Black Hard anodized fittings are used by many race cars using methanol. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134/5
  19. Well mine is different because it`s not a z it`s a 510. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134
  20. Can you really ever have enough HP??
  21. Are you talking rwh or flywheel horepower? It`s not cheap, I am looking at making 600rwh and it`s not cheap or easy. After you have a 600hp motor your going to need a tranny to handle 600hp, not cheap either. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134
  22. http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php?board=13.0 There are several manufactures making draw though 4 bbl carbs, it`s pretty impressive the HP that some of the setups put out. With the Turbo Tom`s setup I would imagine that the N20 would function as a pretty effective intercooler and HP adder.
  23. I would like to see what the HP #`s would be with the N20 and the old school turbo.
  24. The car was just tuned with 7.5 of boost and 30% methanol as fuel ( I will post a pic of the dattalog tonight) the intake temps dropped 75* instantly and the car was able to use 6* more timing under boost on a conservative tune. The car feels stupid fast for 7psi....can`t wait for 20+.
