I would like to know what is wrong with nitrous ?.Done right a N20 system on a turbo motor can make seriously impressive horepower gains.A 120hp to the wheels shot turned into an over 200rwh shot on a turbo motor in my 10 sec street driven car.Plus you really can`t imagine how fast a turbo will spool with a shot of N20 until you experience it.

Yea why the hell would anyone want to put a six speed behind a L28et. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=15c7&.dnm=ddb7.jpg&.src=ph http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=15c7&.dnm=f451.jpg&.src=ph If I were to the swap today I would go with the z32 tranny.

My car made 535 rwh with a turbo /N20 setup. The current setup will use a T67 turbo with around 24-25 psi of boost and a 50-75whp shot of N20.I would like to make around 600rwh or so with the nitrous and as close to 500rwh as I can get with pump gas and methanol injection. But, the head has been proffesionally ported and all contact surfaces have been ceramic/DFL coated.

Starting My 454 BBC Install.....(pics)

Cable, Do you think you will have your setup up and running for Battle of the Imports in late October. That`s what I am shooting for with the T67 and AEM EMS combo, I look forward to lining up against you. -
Need Help Gang! My T57/TO4 Turbo Does Not Fit..Pics

You might try moving the exhaust T 4 flange back enough to clear the steering. It looks like you have quite a bit of work into the manifold, but a stock ported manifold with a T3/T4 adaptor should work without clearance issues.I`m not sure about the dimesions of your clearance issue a T3 flange is smaller than a T4(I know I am stating the obvious) and "might" solve your clearance issues as well. I will post a pic of my T67 T3 .84 housing with P trim wheel as an example. The length of the T3 flange on my .84 housing is 68mm from top to bottom. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=63ef&.dnm=8ffe.jpg&.src=ph A pic of a ceramic coated and ported stock manifold. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=63ef&.dnm=d264scd.jpg&.src=ph http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=63ef&.dnm=e38bscd.jpg&.src=ph -
I am a big fan of nitrous...it`s my first love really.I agree with Scottie that a car hitting a shot of N20 will spool NOW.I plan on running a small shot of N20 just to spool the turbo at the track.I would start with a really small shot and work my way up rather than a big shot and putting your car sideways(ask me how I know). All I am saying you better be ready for a ride when hitting the juice on a BIG turbo car.

No, the 83 turbo distributor has a crank angle optical trigger inside that sends timing info via 360 slots to the ECU.The Mallory Unilight uses an optical trigger as well but only uses 6 slots and the ECU won`t recognize the signal.I had a Unilight on my car at one time with an MSD Boost Timing Master and the setup worked fine, I later used a 82 NA distributor that had a aerospace plastic rather than a brass bushing installed.

I would check the head with a good staight edge and a set of feeler gauges anything over .002 should be resurfaced. The stop leak I use is this, it looks like coffee grounds. http://www.barsproducts.com/product.cfm?id=38

I would look into having a time sert rather than a helicoil put back in the block as the time sert repairs are much stronger than a heli coil http://www.timesert.com/ I would get a new headgasket and check the head for warpage.I had a miss between # 3-4 cyl on a N20 motor due to a .003 head warpage that was missed due to an untrue straight edge.Every time I have used a NISMO SS headgasket I have had to use a little stop leak in the coolant to stop a bit of seapage.Get a can of carb cleaner and check the area between the intake and exhaust valves very carefully, you might even want to use a magnifing glass. If all else fails get the head pressure tested.

Why not just use an MSD boost timing master.I ran one for years on my car with a 82 NA dist with the vacuum advance disabled.I think I even have the dist sitting around somplace one of the cool things about the MSD units is that the little black trigger box can be removed. and the MSD can function as the trigger. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MSD-8762 http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=15c7&.dnm=5971.jpg&.src=ph

I ran the same WEB cam James Thaggard did in His twin turbo .The car picked up 3 tenths with no other changes with the 114* lobe centered spilt duration .488 lift grind. With the large shot of N20 I was running and even being restricted with a smallish turbo and 2.5" exhaust the car still made 535 to the wheels. With the bigger turbo and larger exhaust and smaller shot of N20 I am hoping the cam comes on to it`s own with the ported head and manifold.Time will tell if this cam is big enough.

I broke and axel once launching on slicks and a U joint once at the track doing the same thing.I got out of it both times before doing any real damage.

I bought mine online at the Klotz web site. The stuff works great, It also keeps the methanol from gumming up after time.
-
Klotz makes an upper cylinder lubricant for methanol that keeps the destructive properties in check.I paid 22 for a 5 gallon can about 2 weeks ago.

It`s a P trim wheel , the tech at Precision recomended it for my application.

I just wanted to show a photo of how big the exhaust wheel is in a .84 T3 housing http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/detail?.dir=63ef&.dnm=e38bscd.jpg&.src=ph

The 510 as stock used a 63cm tranny length from end to end and the L6`s used a 71cm tranny. It takes some work to put a z car tranny in a 510( done it).Beware of the early 200sx 63cm dogleg 5 speeds .They won`t last long in a high HP car.

Or you could just bite the bullet and buy an $800 M&W and not have any problems.http://www.mwignitions.com/
-
You could use VG30 et pistons which will stand up to higher levels of boost than an NA piston. The VG pistons have a 6mm lower pin heigth than an L series piston.
-
N20 on a boosted motor is almost like 2+2 =5.The 120rwh shot on my NA 3 liter turned into an over 200rwh shot on a boosted motor. The intercooling effect of the nitrous accounts for this.Make sure that you setup a nitrous sytem with the proper safeguards with at least a rpm window switch and a clutch switch in conjunction with your WOT switch. Run good fuel at least 110 oct. as your going to be packing denser fuel/air into your combustion chambers and a CDI ignition wouldn`t hurt either.BTW my car on the bone stock CT26 turbo ran 12.6@106mph with the 200rwh shot it ran 10.96@127mph. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/album?.dir=15c7&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos Also it would help to know what EFI system your running as it would indicate if a wet or a dry system would be eaiser/safer to plumb.

At the track all is routed through an exhaust cutout. The flowmaster is just there to quite things down a bit.

How Do You Calculate \ Determine Lash Pad \ Cap Thickness?
510six replied to slownrusty's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
http://www.webcamshafts.com/ A regrind is 158 bucks.Great write up on how to setup lash pad thickness, I usually use a black marker and check the wipe pattern on the rockers. -

Web should be able to get you in the ballpark with lash pads.
