Has your cooling system been properly flushed. A very thin film of rust colored stuff will build up on the inside of the cooling system over time that creates an insulation barriers, inhibiting heat transfer. Lots of people who have installed a new water pump, new or reconditioned radiator, hoses, and fluid, but have not properly flushed the entire system, continue to have overheating issues and wonder why?

crisdeanb, You might want to read Terry Oxendale's write-up on brake upgrades. Pretty easy to do and with all Nissan parts. You can likely find his write-up in the archives, either here or at Classic Zcar Club's site. Just my 2 cents!

I had the same question when I was installing my slotted rotors (fronts are vented but with straight vanes). I called a number of brake manufactures with great reputations and the answers I got were / and , depending on the manufacture. So I have to agree with John's reply....."Doesn't matter. Do what looks nice to you." I decided to go with the inner point of the slots leading. Currently I'm see certain manufactures using a squiggle type slot pattern that do not extend to either the inner or outer edge of the rotors. I suspect the important thing is to just have a travel path for the hot gases to escape from between the pads and rotors.

I can't provide you an answer but I think you are talking about static compression, not dynamic.

Just a note.....if you do decide to use bushings, be sure they are not too long as this will not allow the ring gear bolts to clamp the ring gear securely. Many do not use the bushings and Precision Gear endorses this method.

You can simply test it with a 12VDC power source and a small cup of solvent.

These distributors are notoriuos for going bad! The advance mechanism in the distributor rotates on small ball bearings, with a plastic cage, that over time the plasic cage fails. Just some food for thought!

Regarding a torque wrench that will register 20 ft/lbs (240 inch/lbs).....Buy an inch/lbs torque wrench! 1 ft/lb = 12 inch/lb

Just one detail to point out....Cup cars (Nextel Cup) do use hydraulic jacks and they get stuffed under each side of the car and are actuated by the handle on the jack! No air jacks on these puppies!

I agree on this choice....especially considering the price compared to the other alternatives. Very strong carrier assembly. I love mine anyway! The folks at Precision Gear are very nice and very helpful. These units are made for the 12mm ring gear bolts but, the 10mm bolt ring gears will work just fine on these units....talk to the guys at Precision gear about this issue!

You want to use the fork and T/O brg collar that came on the ZX 5 spd.

Basically an injector sprays every two revolutions of the crank, for a given cylinder on four stoke engines.

If I remember correctly, the weakest point in the early Z chassis is dirtectly in front of the rear wheel wells. A good four point rollber, with the main hoop securely attached to the beefy portion of the chassis just behind the seat wells and the back stays tied to the rear strut towers will certainly tighten up the chassis. Strut cross bars add some degree of stiffness too. Of course a nice cage with supports running forward to the front strut towers and down to the area where the front sway bar attaches will be even better. Just some food for thought! Tom
