  1. Interesting responces so far.....#1 Mike thinks I was smoking something, #2 Jon strikes up a conversation about past mountain bike rides at Cheesebrough Canyon. Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!? Anybody?
  2. Sunday morning at around 11:00am I was just getting on the north bound 101 fwy at Cheesebrough (Agoura area), after getting in a good mountain bike ride, and what do I see......I'm quessing but, there where over 200 exotic cars all bunched together in a group heading up the freeway....three lanes wide for over a quarter mile long. The vast majority of these cars were late model Ferraris and Lambourhginis (probably spelled incorrectly) along with a few Ford GT40s, Corvettes, and Porsches. Of course the CHP was in attendance...five squaud cars to be exact, with lights a flashing but no one was being pulled over. The music from all those V12s was amazing! If anyone has any information on what was taking place, I'd love to know! Did anyone else happen to see this freak sighting?
  3. How about the ash tray assemblies and control panels for early Zs.....hard to find items. Tom
  4. Well....maybe I'm a day late but, happy B-day Dave! 45 years young. Tom

    Motivation

Based on your words of wisdom...I must be driving a German 240Z!!!
  6. I believe education is like building a house...you first need a good foundation! I suggest finishing up with your MBA....who knows, by the time you get your MBA, you may have a different view of how and what direction you want to take yourself with your interests. So what I'm suggesting is build your foundation (MBA) and then address the details (Trade school). Just a thought!!! Tom

    3.15 R200 value?

$200 ! If the LSD is in good condition. Shoot, I sold an R200 (open 3.90) differential is excellent condition for $100.
  8. GeeZ, just remember you are still regulating a carburator. No high pressure pump! We're talking 3 to 4 psi.
  9. Surely he should have known that wasn't a 1983 ZX that won!
  10. Interesting problem!!! When working with lever arm linkages, be aware that depending upon what angles the lever arms are positioned (relative to mid travel), they will play a big part in the responce ratio you will obtain at the gas pedal. Another option may be to use a flexible type shaft to join the two linkages. It would require more modifications but at least it would solve the angle and ratio issues. Just some food for thought! Tom
  11. Please be a little more specific! Too many unknowns to provide an answer. Tom
  12. Certainly a nice looking Z!!! I was looking at the pics supplied on the Ebay action and noticed the pic of the exhaust. The darn thing looks be be about 1 1/2" off the ground....and I thought mine was low. I think the seller will eventually discover that $32K is more than twice price. Even at $16K I would at least expect to see a better interior job (look at the gauge install). Maybe some nice racing seats and carpet!!? Oh well, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask for too much $$$! Tom
  13. I believe the master cylinder is an AFCO unit. Look at the pic! Visit their website or give them a call. Good folks at AFCO! Tom
  14. I think the model name for those wheels (PIMPSTAR) says it all!!!! Tom
  15. I would suggest reading up on the specifics of building a turbo engine. Operating temperatures are higher and tolerances are different to allow for the additional heat. Maybe one of the members knowledgable on turbo engines will chime in and offer advice and or a good publication. Tom
  16. Excellent taste on the details and craftsmanship Tom!!! Outstanding!!! Tom

    Datsun_Z_008

Certainly one of the badest ass Zs I've seen.....really nice!!!
  18. Pretty much, the sky is the limit....provided you throw enough $$$ at it. A little research on the subject will aid you in your quest....as an explaination would require writing a book or two or three!!
  19. Guys, I made a typo......it was supposed to be bribe not bride!
  20. You mean to tell me my original $100.00 bride wasn't enough?????
  21. By the way grumpy, great post. If I may.....here's my 2 cents worth. I believe that alot of people trying to improve upon the performance of their car forget one of the fundamental steps......Learn the basic theory and functions of internal combustion engines. "You have to learn to walk before you can run"......as the saying goes. As we all know, there are so many variables that dictate how and what we will do to improve upon performance. Tom
  22. If you have the $$$, get a properly sized fan that will fit your radiator....will make a much nicer installation! Like the old saying goes...."Do it right the first time!" With a properly sized fan, you will be able to mount it closer to the rad core, making it more effective at drawing air though the rad core. Hope this tidbit helps you out some? Tom
  23. Yep, sounds like its time for the old multimeter! Also, check your fuses and grounds. Tom
