  1. ^^^ It can on the 280zx TURBO... the oil pump shaft to dizzy key is in the center, which means you can technically install it 180* off TDC.
  2. Welcome to the forum! There's lots of info here... just gotta do a quick search... or look at the sticky threads. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114631
  3. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131008&highlight=240sx+lsd 240sx LSD = 29 spline count. It's also pretty rare to find a 240sx w/ LSD.
  4. I was serious when I said all your questions can be answered in that thread.... Cost effective... hum... you're looking at $500-$700 minimum unless you magically find a Z31T LSD in the junk yard (not gunna happen). The 87-89 Z31T R200 clutch LSD is the easiest swap...
  5. #1: The L28ET uses an AFM not MAF. #2: You can convert to a MAF if you do a Z31T ecu upgrade. #3: You can install a Vein Pressure Converter to delete the MAF. Is all that worth it? Not really.... tho the Z31T ecu upgrade itself is.
  6. I suggest searching as all your questions have been answered multiple times. There's even a thread sticky dedicated to diffs & LSDs.
  7. Did you remove the flex plate adapter ring from the crank?
  8. Only changing the oil filter (which is located on the top front of BMW motors). The 325i M50 motor has an enclosed aluminum unit for the oil filter. For some reason BMW used a plastic cap for the 318 M44 motor which allows oil to run down the block upon removal. That was my only complaint w/ the car. And the ragtop w/ the ///M package was pretty rare. I think only 1500 were made.
  9. Where's your Haynes manual? I can't believe you'd be doing all this so blindly..... Again:
  10. I loved my 318ti! It had the California rag top & ///M Sport package. Negative rear camber out the wazoo.
  11. This is your question: This is your answer: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=forged+l28+pistons
  12. Are you building this motor on an engine stand or in the car? Is the oil pan off? You install the head, timing chain, timing cover, THEN the oil pan.
  13. 2nd google result... tons of info: http://www.88hybrid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=87755&sid=a4ea4180b8efd1370218379f5c2311a2 There's also a million diff websites debating VISCOUS VS CLUTCH LSDs. Which style to the hard core drifters use? Clutch...
  14. When in doubt... you could always read the MASSIVE thread on diffs. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114798&highlight=viscous+z31+lsd Or search.... Answer to your question: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101032&highlight=viscous+z31+lsd http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98396&highlight=viscous+z31+lsd
  15. What car & year do you have? If it's a 280z / 280zx, you need to disconnect the TPS plug and blow it dry.
  16. Welcome to the forum! An L28ET swap would be the most cost effective way to get "more power", though it may or may not be something you want to get yourself into (depends on your mechanical / electrical level). Second up would be a basic upgrade: Exhaust header, cam, ignition, MegaSquirt (a lil bit more advanced), maybe some intake work, head work (decking, valves, etc). More advanced would be a complete tear down of the motor, bore it (stroking would be more extreme), do some heavy head work, etc. It's really all up to you... You could get a good start by reading this:
  17. I notice you are making a new "WANTED" thread for about every L28ET motor part. Just a thought, but maybe make just ONE thread, title it WELL, and state all the parts you are looking for.
  18. If you don't believe what the forum members say... I doubt much else can be said to help you. SEARCH. There's at least a dozen threads here talking about hydraulic lifters. They are near impossible to find new, and indeed they are not made anymore. How could that be possible?! Easy... Nissan stopped producing them, just like a lot of car makers stop producing certain parts sometimes.
  19. Since you didn't post a link to 2savage's thread, and I don't really want to search for you, I'm not sure how his setup worked. But I would just drill a hole in the oil pan, weld in a bung (or nut), and screw in the sensor.
  20. Then strip it clean... that takes $0. Done and done.
  21. sertch? watz that? CLICKY: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99620
