  1. What do you mean "none of my belts are turning over"? Does the motor start / run? Does it crank? Can you move the clutch fan? And the Haynes manual has all the maintenance / repair info you could think of (of download the FSM from http://www.xenons130.com). There's no need for an alternator removal write up... it's easy. You can remove it from the top (remove power steering pump) or from the bottom (remove skidplate). Two bottom bolts, and one top one... and wa-la, it's out!
  2. What's different about the 280zx? What did you do on the other cars that you can't do on the Z? Junk yard Lexus / Infinity / Acura projector housings FTW!
  3. It's a pre-set option in the forum settings. At X amount of posts, or for X amount of time, the status is upgraded. So to answer your question: no "one" changed it for you... it was the forum software. If you become a paying subscriber, you can probably change your sub-title all by yourself.
  4. Welp... apparently you aren't going to listen to me. Anyone else wanna try?
  5. Which belt??? For the alternator / water pump? Or for the a/c pump? Alternator belt = loosen alternator. a/c pump = loosen 14mm nut on the front, then 12mm bolt on top.
  6. It's not used... so stop worrying about that plug. If all the dash lights are on, the alternator is not charging correctly. Check voltage / amps / wiring.
  7. Engine lube & cooling section... there's tons of pics all over the FSM showing the pax side of the engine bay. Here's a quick copy:
  8. There's some good pics in the Haynes manual and http://www.xenons130.com Here's a pic from my cardmain page. One line goes to the head, one goes to the back of the timing cover (above the alternator).
  9. You have to load a list of blocked ads. In Firefox, go to TOOLS then ADBLOCK PLUS PREFS then FILTERS then ADD FILTER SUBSCRIPTION. Load the USA one and you should be good. They are legal during the winter.
  10. Sounds like you have the spring on backwards. Have you tried turning it over (front to back ... left to right) ? The Haynes manual helps....
  11. Niku: stop being a wuss and weld it up. I had to weld up a back support bar on my 318ti leather seats. I just got a couple wet towels and covered everything up.
  12. w00t! Right on. That's about 15 miles north of Bountiful. Going to HAFB I assume?
  13. No probs here... What internet browser are you using? Get Firefox 3.0.4 with the AdBlock Plus plug-in.
  14. Nor did he mention it was a 2seater. I wanted to make sure he knew since you didn't clarify. EDIT... Looking at his previous thread, he has a 2seater. And there ya have it.
  15. Yep... stock turbo AFM to turbocharger boot. Biggest port is for the valve cover, one of the smaller goes to the canister (I think) and the last goes to the EGR / AAC vacuum controller.
  16. Are you asking for specs so you can see how it might fit? Did you see this thread? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123611
  17. Turbo's and 2+2's have the same flywheel & clutch size (240mm flywheel). 2seater n/a's have a smaller flywheel.
  18. TPS, AFM, timing, fuel pressure, etc. Check those.
  19. Just a thought, but you might find an answer more quickly on a Mercedes forum. Have you tried that?
  20. Connect the support mount to the motor. If you connect it to the frame, it will likely stress it every time you rev the motor (because the motor moves... that's why they invented rubber motor mounts) and eventually break or cause some other damage.
  21. Ever heard the term "don't judge a book by it's cover" ? Obviously people have different tastes on cars... but the ZX was an improvement over the S30 in many ways. If you found a clean S130 for a good deal, would you pass it up just because your roomie said "they ain't worth jack diddly" ?
  22. Let me put it this way: NO. The AFM is one of the main sensors... you remove it & the ecu has no idea what's going on. You could upgrade to a Z31T ecu setup which uses a MAF. Then you can use a SAFC and / or VPC or piggy back. Or go MSnS / SDS.
  23. Been done... all too many times (most are sitting in junk yards because their owners had no idea what they had).
