  1. Exactly. Turbo280Zcar... check out your local phone book (or http://www.dexonline.com / http://www.anywho.com) for a diesel or turbo shop. It's a whole lot easier to deal w/ a local shop than shipping out your turbo and never see the face of the guys working on it. Just make sure they offer a warranty on their service.
  2. Maybe you could tell us your goal? Will the car be built strictly for racing? If so, track or 1/4mi? Do you want this car to be street legal? HP goal? Are you doing all the work yourself? What mechanical / body work / electrical background & experience do you have? Again... help us help you (otherwise I can see this thread going to the tool shed pretty quick).
  3. ^^^ The only major issue with this upgrade on the S130, is that the front of the Toyota caliper hits the back of the wheel (rim) due to shorter spindles & thinner rotors than the S30. With some Modern Motorsports (or similar) adapters, this upgrade works.

  9. Welcome to the forum! Have you looked under the car yet? That would be the first step. Put it on jack stands & get under it for an up close inspection......
  10. Orange or red? Have you tried pushing the CHECK button to the right to see what it says?
  11. They look like the classic "Brown Tops". I imagine he's talking about the Thunderbird coupe? And see the black O-Ring at the top? That means they are O-Ring style, not barbed. Technically you can still use them as barbed style, just gotta take off the O-Ring and cut down the top of the brown plastic pieces.
  12. philipl... by asking these questions, I'm assuming you've never rebuilt a motor? I suggest having a machine shop do it for you. Or if you are dying to learn, find someone very experienced to show you what to do on your motor. To answer your question, if the journals look mirror smooth, you should be fine w/ standard size bearings. And yes, YOU NEED TO USE PLASTI-GAUGE.
  13. Click this link... it explains clearly the answers to your questions: L24 = 2.4L motor from a 240Z. And remember... $4400 is just for the kit. Then you get to pay for the machine work and all the extra stuff needed. To build a proper stroker, expect to spend close to $10k. Short cuts and cheap parts = shorter life span for the motor. Do it right... or you will regret it later.
  14. All L-Series transmissions will interchange. If you don't want to mess w/ heavy fab work, stick to a transmission made for an L-Series motor.

  17. Your motor is fouling out. Did you do this?
  18. You must be a magician because it's near impossible to get the tensioner & spring back it the hole with the timing cover still on. Have you checked the chain slack? You shouldn't be able to push it in or out hardly at all.
  19. All engines need 3 basic things to start: Proper spark Proper fuel delivery Proper amount of air If the plugs are wet w/ fuel, it's flooded. Check your CHTS and AFM connections. Then, clamp off the fuel line after the fuel filter & crank the car at full throttle for 5-10 seconds. Release fuel line, crank again.
