  1. Now who could NOT like a big block Ford in a British AC body. Even the Brits love the Cobra.
  2. Sounds like it's a thumbs down. They'll hate my FD with an LS7 then. I've taken perhaps the best mass production chassis ever made and adulterated it. It sounds awesome though!
  3. Did you ever wonder? I know I always did. I'm sure they have their own hybrids, but what do they think about American aluminum in Japanese cars? The S30 V8 hybrid is one of the most famous swaps of all time, and the FC and FD with LSX engines are becoming the new standard. V8 miatas are totally insane. Some of you (corZette) have been stationed over there. Maybe you could chime in.
  4. I should try making some of my own implants with the stuff!
  5. Congrats. It's a lot of work and a lot of fun, kinda like a car project. Now, you won't have time for your car so I'd be happy to take it off of your hands.
  6. Don't chance it. Having built a stroker and having to clearance the block and rods, you don't want all that good work to go to hell because you cut corners on a stupid oil pan.
  7. Moby, I have a spare LS1 from a 99 SS sitting in my garage just waiting to go into that thing.
  8. and LS1's if properly taken care of, could make it to a million miles.
  9. I felt from the start that the F body would be a great contender. Reliable, fast, and handles fairly well. The Honda and the BMW were good choices as well, although an M3 version is a little too exotic to be reliable and the Honduh was a little too tricked out to go the distance. The American muscle cars are proven to be reliable, but handle like tanks. Somehow, I'm not surprised by the showing of the f150. It's a decent truck and they have the temperment for a rally. The Lotus would be my last choice, next to the Lambo. I'd like to see an all motor LS1 powered S30 or RX7.
  10. There must be a way to put a Prius drivetrain in a Z. Then it would be a true Hybrid Z in every sense of the word.
  11. It just goes to show that poor taste is almost universal.
  12. Yes I meant your Ford diff. I just finished firing up the Mazda. I'm ironing out the bugs now, then I will turn my attention back to the Datsun. The Mazda will be my daily driver, more or less, and the Datsun will be for less civil activities, such as meeting at the local Sonic and seeing if kids in Hondas want to race...legally of course (haha). Right now, I'm struggling trying to get street legal. There's this thing called emissions testing, not quite as California, but a pain nonetheless.
  13. I just finished installing an LS7 in my 93 RX7. You mean to tell me that I can expect over twice the gas mileage I was getting with the rotary? Sweeet!
  14. Nice that you got out to the track. Don't you have a live axle rear end?
  15. looks like a candidate for my next LS1 transplant
  16. Congrats. That's an important issue, since those commercial feeding formulas are really expensive.
  17. That is the most brilliant, scientific analysis of male/female relationships I have ever seen. I think Harry's analysis from the movie is absolutely stunning.
  18. From your other posts, I kinda figured that.
  19. I guess I could see it doing that if you put in the wings upside down, creating lift like an airplane wing. Kinda makes a great set of tires pointless if they don't touch the ground though.
  20. That's exactly the drivetrain I want in my Hummer H3! I'm not sure the front diff would survive though (in fact, I'm sure it won't). So, LS series cams fit in 5.3's? I didn't know that. Do the heads physically fit?
  21. I'm sure it's never been done, but we could create an oversteering front driver if a giant wing was mounted on the front hood. I'm waiting for a volunteer.
  22. Hmmmmm....tempted. I need an outlet for my plasma cutter. It's the busy season in my business though. Lots of silicone to implant and I don't have much free time these days. I'm here to provide moral support and technical advice though. I'll keep your name in mind for my annual Z party at my house.
  23. I've told many ricers that, from a downforce and handling standpoint, it makes more sense to put the wing on the front of the car. That would make the rear of the car lighter and able to oversteer more. So far, no one has taken me seriously and relocated their wing.
  24. Pop, I just ran into this the other day. I ordered a starter for my LS7 (same as the LS2) and I pulled the starter bolts of an LS1 I have lying around. The bolt patterns between the 2 were different. They were offset on the LS1, so I would say they aren't interchangable. Could be wrong though.
  25. I can't discuss. I'm speechless
