45 dollars anywhere that should be bought

Hah or dont you all remember about John Coffeys 240Z blasting by many a vette across the tracks, also having a best time at some tracks in his 240Z. Or do you recall how John Morton racing the Datsun 510 after starting two races down against the big dog Triumph in the day. Running a smaller displacement motor and down like they were to win the Trans Am event and take the title from Triumph. Remember when Mini came out onto the racing world and blew away all the larger competition that laughed at them. Never judge a book by its cover.

Now Pete if you could make a nice exhaust manifold I would love to talk to you about that as I can see the qaulity of work you put into what you make. Any possibilities of that happening?

I hope that you didnt take it as I was downing your DP, because I was not, it is a very nice piece and would do excellent for anyone with a stock turbo. What I was just getting at is in the ZX, at least for me, using a T3/TO4E turbo, I did make a 3 inch DP, and it had to be done with 2 90 degree bends, then a slight 30 degree bend by the transmission heading out toward the back. I would love to have bought something like what you have there to just bolt do my car. Fitting and cutting and adjusting and welding and back again is a royal pain in the arse. The second DP pictured with that attached wastegate looks like it would fit. less the attachment to the lower portion of the DP from the wastegate. For something like that to fit you would have to move the turbo forward in the ZX. Pete you should get someone to see you with a ZX turbo you will see the room is extremely limited. If I didnt have my 3 inch DP already I would definetly take you up on your offer.

Well from much reading in the archives after the fact I have found that only a few have had sucess with the CFDF clutch. I wish I would have done that before I spent the 272.00 on it with theyre claimed 90% over stock holding capacity. Whats worse is I see a lot of people talking well of Spec clutches and the fact that the stage 3 is only 317.00, and the stage 4 is only I believe 342.00, I really could have spent very little more for something so much better. Kind of disgusts you in the end thats for sure.

I can tell you now just from looking at that DP there is no way it will work on a ZX. Even at 2.5 inches I find it hard to believe it will fit. In the ZX there is hardly any room at all to work with. If it does I would be amazed!

So let me tell you the difference between volunteer and draft
EZ-E replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
I know the feeling of a moronic boss and how that system works, I was working at a small shop, doing mechanics, it was for a foriegn car shop. The boss drinks everyday, never seen it during work though im sure he did as every Friday he would stock up with 3 cases of beer in his fridge. He would always talk down to everyone except the shop manager who was his freind, and try and make others feel like shyte. Hell once I had to show the "shop manager'" where the plugs were in a Volvo. Hes like you like these newer cars, how bout telling me where the plugs are. I said in return take the center cover off the valve cover. Wost is he pulls it off and comes over, well smart *** where are they, not certainly there, I pull my 1/4 inch drive and 7mm socket, pull the coil pack off and say well, do you really think you need to be working on this car if you obviously dont know anything about it. Well this brings the Owner in running his mouth, I politely pointed out that the "shop manager" should know more then anyone here and he gets an attitude for me having to show him how to do his job. Now though he didnt have the attitude, supposedly I did. Well getting to shorten things up, its almost Christmas time, me being only 3 days late of a year, well, I dont get a Christmas bonus! They are like, we are getting something for the boss you wanna chip in. I look and I think and then say, well I didnt get anything from him, why should I bother. Then I got the well others that were here are already laid off for the slow and you still on. Im like well, pay me some respect and talk to me like a person, and maybe you and he both would. Needless to say, I lasted only a year and a half there but was much happier since. -
Now that would be a good hybrid set up. I wonder how much he is wanting to get for it. Talk about ready to drop into a Z.

In my search for a BMW dailey driver I found THIS !!!!
EZ-E replied to EZ-E's topic in Non Tech Board
Im really tempted, if I only lived closer to do as popnwood said and get to really check it out to see what it is and if its worth it. I think for the price it would most definetly be worth it. Just have to justify it from more then the pics. Anyone in the Pheonix area care to check it out for me? -

You have to admit this is a great little hybrid. Hmm I like the idea of it all. -
I would definetly say dont worry about the stock computer and smog. Ive personally seen a Ford Lightning, with a stock computer that was only chipped run 11's.

ITs a realli nice looking BMW, well minus the Black Magic red sparkly tire gel, but it seems to have had some work put into and is quite attractive when you see it all in the end. Talk about your dailey driver and hybrid. Check it out, if your in the Pheonix, AZ area, might be something someone wants. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/car/95863787.html Its a 87 325-1JZTT Convertible. I love it!!

Have you checked into total seal piston rings? http://www.totalseal.com/html/rings/gold/index.htm

Of owners or persons that have worked on them. I really like the style of these types of BMW's, not to mention the have to 2.5 L6. I was wondering what are the opinions of these, ie reliablity, worth, maintenance costs etc. I think they are great looking seem to be a bit sporty, and would be well comfortable for a daily driver. Any thoughts or outlooks are welcome. Thanks

I noticed that too, looked like the Z was having to wait for the porsche in the turns, but on the straight the porsche was ruling, though at the same time the porsche never really was that far out ahead of the Z. Im impressed. Good video.

I can attest to that, there is no way physically possible using the stock exhaust manifold on a ZX will you get 2 45's in there. I did run 3 inch and it is extremely close!
-
OMG!!!!!! Hmm do you think that would make better then 300 hp to the wheels? Jesus thats a gorgeous motor!
-
Sounds really nice. I like it.

This is at least the statement of the individual running it on his erm 9 second Z car? Heres an exerpt from the add. "THIS INTAKE WILL GIVE YOUR Z CAR AN ADDITIONAL 35LB/FT OF TORQUE AND 25 ADDITIONAL HORSEPOWER. THESE ARE THE EXACT SAME INTAKE ZPERFORMANCE RACING RUN ON THEIR 9 SECOND DRAG CAR" Now Im not the greatest mind in the Z world and never claimed to be, but if it were possible to run that fast with the stock intake manifold why are so many of our high hp turbo guys going with an aftermarket one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-280ZX-PORTED-AND-POLISHED-INTAKE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQitemZ8004090771QQrdZ1 Theres the link take a look

I would suggest that you talk to James Thagard @ http://www.speedshopthagard.com he is well versed in turbocharging and all turbos. He will gladly help you with what you would need and want and take the time to explain to you what would be best for your goals. He only sells Garrett turbos, one thing I would recomend is the 360 degree bearing.

It was the 4 Jbends rather then Ubends that I had shipped for $80. I had cut and welded it all together in a night. The only thing that I needed to buy additional was an 18 inch piece of straight pipe that I had gotten from the local auto parts store for 5 bucks.
