  1. My injectors are from a 2004 LQ4, I don't know how short they are compared to other LSx type injectors as I don't have anything to compare them to physically.
  2. Do you think I'd have any issues running 'truck' injectors with these rails? Thanks!!
  3. Have you installed these on your motor in your Z yet? I looked at these brackets, but worried they won't work because it says it puts the alternator in the Corvette location. Several guys here on Hybridz have said that Corette position wouldn't work because of the alternator running into the driver side strut tower. Thoughts on this? Thanks!!
  4. I think there is more of an initial cost going with the manual transmission over an overdrive automatic too. A decent 4L60e with converter can be had for $800-1000 at most. A runable T-56 will set you back $800-1000 also, but then you got to spend another $500+ on the flywheel, clutch, master cylinder, etc. Just something else to consider.
  5. I am running a Lincoln Mark VIII fan on my setup. Fits like a glove and never has come close to over heating.
  6. I considered doing the same to my LQ4 before I actually got it running, but after driving it..... I have enough traction issues now. I think a turbo (or any other power adder) wouldn't help the situation. Good luck with the conversion though.
  7. My stock 4L60e tranny from a 2004 GTO has a factory installed drain plug (stamped aluminum) and holds an extra quart over the truck pan.
  8. In my experence, you don't want lots of squat in the rear for drag racing. You want the front to rise, but you want that weight transfer to firmly plant the rear tires instead of the rear suspension 'soaking' it all up'. How much is it to run at Willow Springs for the event you are attending? Although I won't be running my car, I have a few friends that might be interested.
  9. I have an auto (4L60e) in my LSx S30, but I never really considered a manual tranny as an option. I have several reasons, mainly due to the fact that my left knee has been replaced so when its cold out I couldn't imagine having to push a clutch pedal. Also I like the simple ease of having an automatic. They are consistent and nice for just cruising and not having to worry about having to shift, especially in stop and go traffic. Lastly I enjoy drag racing from time to time, its a fact that auto can 60' better than manuals, plain and simple. Don't get me wrong manuals are fun too, but my dad has always had a saying since the 70's: "Manuals are for impressing High School kids, automatics are for winning races."
  10. What rear diff was that? Open R200? I still have the stock 3.54 open R200, but I just 'welded' it yesterday to hopefully aid in the traction dept and keep what happened to yours from happening to mine. I am also hoping that since mine is an auto vs a manual it will live until I have the funds for something more street friendly.
  11. Another run at the top.... How do they come out with the R200 still installed in the car (S30). I plan on swapping out the u-joint axles for some Z31 turbo CV axles and adapters from Modern Motorsports in the near future. Thanks!!
  12. Are you running the stock 3.54 geared R200 (open)? Axles? Thanks!!
  13. Digging up an old thread..... So what ever happened? How is the ride? Thanks!!
  14. I have a blue set for a 280z, anyone know the spring rates? I've called ST directly several times and can't get them to return my calls. Shox.com doesn't know either.
  15. Digging up an old thread.... Could someone (me) remove the diff by doing everything mentioned above, but instead of unbolting the front mount bar, just unbolt the front rubber mount and slide the whole diff out the front over the mount bar. I ask because it would save me from having to unbolt my exhaust which is a royal PITA. Thanks!!
  16. Agreed. There is a member here doing wheel stands and running 9's on a factory R200 and stock Nissan CV's.
  17. What times are you running with that car now?
  18. This can be done without removing the carrier, right?
  19. Digging up an old thread.... That's a good question. Anyone?
