  1. That is the same pan I'm using on my LT1 Z. The wings make it a challange for exhaust clearance. Make sure you get some one who is talented to do the exhaust around the pan area. Mark
  2. Thanks for the encouragement Tim. No I did check that and the car still starts. If I have to buy another optispark I going a different route with the ignition. Mark
  3. OK now to what drove me nuts. I had 10 days to do rings and bearings, new rotors and some other maintence on the Z before the next track day. Engine part went fine. on schedual. Went to put the pressure plate back on and saw a crack in it. Since I like my feet I got a new one. I had alight weight SLP unit but I need one quick so I bought the stuff the local auto parts place sells. New made in china (isn't everything) 300 bucks clutch disc and pressure plate. get the car back together. go to start it and the starter craps out. Will spin but the geaer will not move out to the fly wheel. No problem, take it apart and there is a peice broken. Can't get parts soon enough for my tilton super starter so I go the the local speed shop and get another one. 300 more bucks. Could not use a stock starter. Won't fit due to mods. Oil pan, exhaust, and what ever else is down there. Get the new starter home and spend several hours shimming and adjusting to get it just right. Don't want to screw up a new $300 starter. get it working and then the car won't start. 400 bucks for a new optispark. I got the GM stuff and needed it quick so I paid dearly. It is normally 700 from the local Chevy place but I have a buddy that got it at his cost. Get everything together tonight. Crank the car it fires right up. VIR here I come. Put the radiator in and fillit and water is pouring out of the back of the water pump. The 12 year old seal did not like being dry for about a week. Tommorow hopefully I can find a rebuild kit for it if they even make a kit for it. What's next?? Now I have no money for the group buy on the therapy.
  4. We thank you for the compliment, however please note our cobra does not spit since the operation we had after the second kid was born. Mark
  5. Thanks Tim, I took the opti apart and it was rusty and wet, pressure washed everything. That was an expensive mistake. I'll have a new one here tommorow. If that doesn't work....well you know who is going to get it. HTH schitso.... I resemble that remark
  6. Not much sleep with trying to get this done for the next track day this Saturday. But If that guy doesn,t give me some respect I'll kick his A$$
  7. Listen you A$$, I dont come here for some one to tell me to search, I come here for you to tell me the answers no many times the question has been answered. Got that! How ever, I checked the optispark and it was wet and rusty on the inside. I hope that is my problem cause if I spend 300 or what ever they cost and it still don't start, I'm going to kick you A$$!!
  8. First of all you should know to search before you post. If you would have taken the time to search at 3 AM you would have found that the optispark is a known culprit for this problem along with hard starting and rough idle. Check that and I bet it will be your problem. And next time search first.
  9. New ring and bearings went in the engine with out any problems (so far). Engine and tranny went back in and now it won't start. I get no spark from the coil when grounding the coil wire. Fuel pressure is good. I pinned out the grounds from the PCM and all check fine. The fuel pump cycles on when the key is turned on like always. I'm guessing coil bad maybe? any other suggestions would be welcome. It's late and my brain is fried. Thanks, Mark
  10. Bird poop welding. Buy the JTR stuff

  16. What makes his car great is the NUT behind the wheel. He is the only instructor that has EVER riden with me that says gas, gas, gas, faster, faster. He really is a great guy and will take the time to help anyone who asks. He rode with me this weekend for a session and showed me a few different lines that really helped out. Mark
  17. Any of you guys have the rubber seal and metal ring the seals the hole in the tranny tunnel the shifter comes thru? I need one soon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark
  18. Mike, Great to finally meet you and Jim. If any of you guys are ever planning to do a track event, you must get to VIR. Man what a fun place. Weekend could not have been better. Car ran great, I'm finally putting some turns together and the group that put this event on was really a great bunch of guys. The weather in Feburary was a question but it turned out to be like and early spring weekend. PERFECT. Next time there is early March with the BMW group. John, How was you therapy? Mine was great.
