  1. Disconnect the heater hoses from the block and plug the outlet and return at the block. No heat no leak.
  2. Kim says, placing literally all the weight of an engine and transmission BETWEEN the front and rear wheels. Like I said before, MID-ENGINE 240Z. If that fact alone doesn't strike you as significant enough in its own right, then perhaps we need to go over handling stuffs, He is making a great case for the JTR swap. Funny stuff.
  3. I've replaced them with out removing the cover. Pull it out, push a new one in.
  4. I got to drive a new GT 3 and it was an amazing car. Still grinning. and the sound that car made at about 7 grand was so nice. Nothing like it. Mark
  5. Tim, THat is what I did initially but a few strong arm shifts to third and the synchros were toast. I ended up going with the pro 5.0 because it has positive stops. Hoping to help the synchros live a little longer. Of course if I would learn to down shift properly and do it consistantly.......... Mark
  6. For mostly street use the stock brakes are fine. Just repair rebuild as necessary and get a good set of pads. If you are planning on doing any track days, Save upp for the wilwoods. They will hold up to track events much better than the stock stuff. Stock can be made to work on the track as some here will tell you but, it is maintence intensive. Mark
  7. IMHO and there are others that will disagree with me BUT, MSA has never impressed me with there customer service. Rarely is shipping prompt. Yes they carry stuff that most vendors don't and hat is off to them for that. Ross has answered question for me and many others on this board. For the extra 45 bucks you get a guy you can call or email questions to AND get an answer. Mark
  8. I'd be all over it if you are looking for a track car. Would be very neat and different.
  9. The plug isn't of the highest quality, Mine was bad, it was the original GM connector. It took me forever to isolate the problem. Bought a new one from the dealer and no problems since. Good luck
  10. Installation is pretty easy. Unbolt the old stuff and bolt on the new stuff. Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and use new gaskets. I usually use a little high temp RTV on the header mating surfaces as most I have seen don't seal great. The large hole on the header looks like a place to put a cold start hose, directs warm air to stock carbs, you won't/can't use it with that set up. also looks like an O2 bung is welded to one of the pipes or could be a place for the EGR to attach to. Hard to tell in the pics. If O2 bung, great for a wide band O2 and some help getting the jetting right. If EGR, plug it and your good to go. Mark
  11. I'm assuming that you are using a GM one wire alt with your set up. Check to make sure the connection for the sensing wire is good. Put a volt meter on it and wiggle the wire and make sure that connection is good. A bad connection at the sensing wire will cause intermintent charging.
  12. type q 45 or r 230 in search. Plenty of info.
  13. That is the web address. Try this number. Mark at 760-724-0144.

  15. Hey John, In stead of spending you money on therapy, why don't you spend it on a track day and come to the Z event In Febuary at VIR. Now that will be money well spent. I know the next question will be how much does it cost. 300 for the weekend and I'm not whining.

    280Z posi upgrade?

If it is the 88 white turbo car, get the diff and the half shafts. You'll be good to go. Just can't use that diff without those halfshafts. Mark
  17. Mike, Thanks for the info. I will get it tuned by a professional when I'm close to done. Right now I just want to understand what I'm doing. Found a site with some modified ls-1 files that I can compare to the stock file. Should help me out somewhat. Feburary at VIR is looking COLD these days. Mark
  18. Great link, That will get me started understanding this stuff. Thanks, Mark
  19. I've got the software. I've downloaded the manual and read it. I've vistied ls1.com and related sites but I need further resources to help me understand what most of the software does. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mark
  20. If you are going to order wheels, I would get the correct backspacing for the rear and not use spacers. JMHO. Mark
  21. Camber plates won't fix you problem. Use the 8 inch springs. This will oe the perch up 2 inches and give you the room you need and keep the ride height where it is at. mark
